Bible Verses About Perseverance to Memorize
The New Testament’s favorite picture of the Christian life is not a sprint or a single battle but a long-distance race: "let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus." Perseverance is the grace of the unglamorous middle miles — after the start has worn off and before the finish line is in sight.
Scripture is bracingly realistic about why people quit: weariness (Galatians 6:9), discouragement over slow progress (2 Chronicles 15:7), and the weight of besetting sin (Hebrews 12:1). Its remedy is equally specific — fix your eyes on Jesus, who "endured the cross" for the joy set before Him, and remember that with God no labor is ever wasted.
At the end of his life Paul could say, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." These ten verses are for everyone who wants to be able to say the same.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

James 1:12
