Bible Verses About Grace to Memorize
Grace is the word Christianity cannot do without: God’s favor given freely to people who could never earn it. Paul states it with double emphasis in Ephesians — "by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Every other religion runs on achievement; the gospel runs on gift.
But grace in Scripture is bigger than the doorway of salvation. It teaches believers how to live (Titus 2:11-12), supplies strength in weakness ("my grace is sufficient for thee"), invites bold prayer at a "throne of grace," and abounds so that you have "all sufficiency in all things." Grace saves you, then it carries you.
These ten verses trace that full arc. Memorize them and you will always have an answer ready — for your own discouragement, and for anyone who asks why Christians hope in something other than their own record.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The definitive grace text: salvation by grace through faith, "not of works" — the gospel in two verses.
2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
"My grace is sufficient for thee" — God’s answer to Paul’s unremoved thorn, and to every weakness that will not go away.
Romans 3:23-24
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
The universal problem ("all have sinned") and the free solution ("justified freely by his grace") side by side.
Titus 2:11-12
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Grace is a teacher — it appeared bringing salvation and now trains us to live "soberly, righteously, and godly."
Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Because the throne is one of grace, you can "come boldly... and find grace to help in time of need."
James 4:6
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
"He giveth more grace" — and tells you where it flows: to the humble, not the proud.
John 1:16-17
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
From Christ’s fullness we receive "grace for grace" — grace stacked on grace, with Jesus as the source.
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Being "under grace" rather than law is why sin "shall not have dominion over you" — grace as power, not permission.
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
"God is able to make all grace abound toward you" — sufficiency "in all things," so you can abound in every good work.
Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Redemption and forgiveness come "according to the riches of his grace" — God forgives out of wealth, not scarcity.

FAQ
Questions about Bible verses on grace
What is the best Bible verse about grace?
Ephesians 2:8-9 — "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." It is the most complete short statement of salvation by grace in the Bible and a foundational memory verse for every believer.
What is grace in simple terms?
Grace is God’s undeserved favor — His kindness given as a gift to people who have earned the opposite. Romans 3:24 says believers are "justified freely by his grace," and Romans 6:23 contrasts wages (what sin earns) with "the gift of God" (what grace gives).
If salvation is by grace, does obedience still matter?
Yes — grace changes the motive, not the call. Titus 2:11-12 says the same grace that brings salvation teaches us to live "soberly, righteously, and godly," and Ephesians 2:10 follows the famous grace verses by saying we are created in Christ Jesus "unto good works." Obedience is grace’s fruit, never its price.
