Yeah, my mom doesn't let me do any online games either. She doesn't want me playing any games except for the Wii lol. But my dad lets me play on his PS5, but I've only ever played like 2 "real" games: Skyrim and Elden Ring.

I've never played Hollow Knight. Is it similar to Elden Ring??
Erm, let's see.......... (lol I looked a bit up and for whatever reason, I'm writing it like a research paper)
Queen Marika became the vessel for the Elden Ring. Her and her husband, Godfrey, (the first Elden Lord) conquered the Lands Between in the name of the Erdtree. All their foes were vanquished, and Marika's reign became absolute. She removed the Rune of Death from the Elden Ring, and her loyal shadow, Maliketh, sealed it away, making everybody blessed by her Grace able to live forever. She became known as Queen Marika the Eternal. This Grace, however, was taken away from Godfrey and his soldiers. All those stripped of their Grace, as well as their descendants, became known as Tarnished. After their deaths, their Grace was returned to them as they were called back to the Lands Between to repair the Elden Ring.
And that is the beginning. :)
But nothing here will convince me this game is better than Hollow Knight.
