Benefits of Memorizing Extended Passages of Scripture
Looking for your next memory challenge? Consider memorizing an extended passage of Scripture. The benefits are trememendous, including:
- A broader, deeper understanding of the Scripture.
- Easier recall of individual verses when memorized in context.
- Gives direction for prayer, study, and meditation in your time with the Lord.
Don't be daunted by the magnitude of verses in a longer passage, chapter, or even book of the Bible. It doesn't have to be done all at once. In fact, taking a year or two to memorize large chunks of Scripture is an excellent way to marinade in God's Word and uncover deeper layers of truth.
Ready to start? Here are a few of our favorite passages:
- John 15 - Join our new John 15 Bible Memory Group now!
-
Matthew 5:1-7:29 (Sermon on the Mount)
- Book of James
TIP: We recommend creating a collection for each chapter you memorize. When you import a range of verses, be sure to select "YES" when asked whether to split into individual verses. This makes for easier mastery and review. Happy memorizing!
