What Happened to ScriptureTyper.com?

If you have been using ScriptureTyper.com only and do not use the Scripture Typer App, then this is for you. If you use the App, then these changes do not apply to you.

 

Many of you non-App users have noticed some changes in how ScriptureTyper.com works recently. We apologize profusely for any confusion and frustration this has caused you. These changes are part of an overarching strategy to upgrade ScriptureTyper.com and bring you an even better memorizing experience.

 

Our desire has always been to provide the best resource for memorizing God's Word, and that has not changed. In fact, we want to provide a resource that would equip you to even memorize the whole Bible, if God put that desire in your heart. However, some growing pains have been necessary in order to make ScriptureTyper.com the elegant memorization work-horse we desire it to be for you. The Scripture Typer App went through a similar transformation last year. We are now upgrading ScriptureTyper.com to work the same as the App. If you like ScriptureTyper.com, then we think you will love the updated system. Don't worry, the nuts and bolts will stay the same--same three-step memorization system, the overall look will pretty much stay the same, everything will be in the same place--in other words, you won't need to relearn the site or anything! But built-in to the system will be a number of key features to take your memorization to the next level, including:

 

Smarter review system

• Complete control of the review cycle
• Ability to cap the maximum review frequency for all of your verses (coming soon)
• Lock review frequency for any verse individually (coming soon)
• Change review frequency by collection or for all verses (coming soon)

 

Faster website

• Instantly move between verses when reviewing or memorizing collections
• Review screen loads much faster

 

Improved reviewing of sequential collections

• Verses are now graded individually
• If you miss a verse, use the left arrow to back up and try it again.
• Start memorizing at any point in the collection (coming soon)

 

Ranking by points or verses current

• View rankings by either points or verses current on the review screen
• Set your preference for how to view rankings (coming soon)

 

Bug Fixes

• Review screen is supposed to sort by due date, but also group sequential verses together so you can review them in order. We've had several reports that this isn't always working properly, and we are working to correct this issue.

 

So, if it feels like things are suddenly a little wobbly at ScriptureTyper.com, please let us assure you that is furthest from the case! We are making major, one-time changes that are really necessary in order to provide you with the most stable, intelligent, capable tool to memorize God's Word and keep it hidden in your heart.
