Instruction for Children/Youth

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land."

My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.

My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck. When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.

And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it.

He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.

A fool despises his father's instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent.

Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. Let your father and mother be glad; let her who bore you rejoice. My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.
