hello everyone I am inviting everyone in this group who is active to my group I just made named Active members ONLY. I am hoping to make a very active group. I am a very active person and I go on multiple times a day. I wan to have this active group to be able to share stuff and get answers quickly and that when questions are asked they get answered too. we can memorize together in a healthy environment of people from all around the globe!! I would gladly promote anyone who has verses to add or just them for you if you tell me which ones. thankyou for your consideration for joining my group!! may the Lord bless you all!!
Heavenlee, you have to upload a photo to get a profile pic, but I'm guessing you figured that out already.
how do you get a profile pic
URGENT!! I seriously have to WARN YOU!! The KJV BIBLE has been CHANGED! (Look up the #MandelaEffect) The Lords Prayer in the KJV is not correct anymore in the KJV (how we remember "tresspasses" changed to "debts" and "those who tresspass against us" changed to "our debtors" and "ON earth" in Mt6,10 changed to "IN earth" - look it up!!!) and John8:32 has changed, as well as Isaiah11,6 changed from "Lion and Lamb will live together" to "Wolve(s) and lamb will live together"
Check out the Mandela-Effect-Wiki for more Information! http://mandela-effect-wiki.tk

PS: i'm not joking, i'm totally serious!
PPS: even wikipedia censors this topic... (see discussion on startpage in the wiki)
I'm not certain what happened, but somehow Colossians 2 was gone from this group. I reloaded it in the fast mode (which lists each verse individually. As a result, some of you (like me) may have to rememorize that chapter. I'm sorry for this, but I guess it will be good practice rememorizing it.
Christy welcome to the group!
WelcomeJenny and Alaina to Colossians!
Samm, just to clarify the previous post concerning chapter 2 (which should now be fixed). If you don't see changes in the chapter, you probably will have to delete and re-add--not sure how it will show up for you. Also, for some reason I don't get any wall post updates from this group sent to my email which is very strange since I am one of the moderators. I just happened to click on the update. (The only emails I get are ones stating if someone joins.)
Samm, thanks for the note. I hope I fixed the problem. Check your verses now (for each chapter). I edited chapter 2 & will check the other chapters. If you ever use the app for Scripture Typer, you can edit verses for your own use. I don't think the verses are categorized exactly as they originally were, and I'm not certain what happens when I edit them on my app (since I'm one of the group administrators). Check, too, for duplicate verses as you may have one since I think there are only 95 verses in the book. You can delete duplicates very easily, and you can always delete a chapter and add it again. (I've done it before), but then you must start over again, (which when I did that, I considered it extra practice for that passage). Hope that helps!
Anyone else see something weird on their 2nd chapter? Mine is split up weirdly.
Welcome to the group cgscott. Keep memorizing!
Jboy, welcome to the group!
I understand Maiden-in-Waiting. Feel free to join anytime you wish. Keep up with the memorization! Welcome new members!
Hi Mom2five!
Thanks for inviting me! Actually, I've already memorized the book of Colossians, and even though it's probably due for a review, I've got a lot I'm working on at the moment. Thanks anyway for the invite!
Welcome RansomedOne and Smile4me! Thank you for joining us :).
Great! Glad that worked! Please let me know if you see any other passages that might be too long. I can perhaps add individual verses or edit some smaller, if needed. I was thinking a couple might be a little long.
I see all the other verses for the other chapters!
That did it! Thanks :). I will check the other ones too.
Verses 1-2 are in my collection. Did you try deleting chapter 1 & adding again? (I had to do that in another group.) I can always add v. 1-2 again, if necessary (so I would have 2). I'm not certain how to delete the chapter and not delete my verses I have already memorized. If you have time, please check the other chapters. I'm thinking I might need to edit other passages, perhaps?
It looks good, only from my side, I'm not seeing verses 1-2. Maybe if you remove the collection then re-add it if those first two verses are showing up for you?
Thanks for your encouragement. Memorizing the Psalms has been amazing so far, I'm able to make so many mental cross-references between the Psalms and the NT, I never expected that :). Still a long way to go!
I separated those verses. Hope that's okay. I edited verses 1-8 to be vs 1-2 so those are already memorized for me. I then grouped 3-5 & 6-8 & have started anew with those verses. I will try to start a Thessalonians group. Someday, I will memorize 2 Thessalonians, but I'm off to bed tonight. Great job in Psalms, btw! Rachel
Great, thank you! There is only one snag I've hit. I thought I'd be able to edit those verses, but because it isn't my collection to start with, ST won't let me edit or add verses to it. Do you think on your side you could edit the verse chunk Colossians 1 from 1-9 into three seperate pieces for that collection? It might need to be re-added after that, I'm not sure. That would be great! I went ahead and deleted the verse by verse collections so it wouldn't be confusing.
It's okay if they are NKJV, with the version drop down box anyone can choose the translation they'd prefer, like you said!
It is pretty easy to start a group, you could easily do one for Thessalonians! You just hit the Create a Group button up at the top of the My Verses page and it is pretty self-explanatory.
I know I've looked for one myself since I've memorized a chunk in the 5th chapter (I'd like to do all of that chapter, and eventually the books, they're great). I'll definitely join if you do! It would be nice if eventually there were groups on ST for every book, particularly in the NT (there are still a few that aren't represented).
Jennifer
Wow, that was easy enough! Is it easy to start a group? If so. I might start a group for 1 Thessalonians--the 1st book I memorized last year. There weren't any Thessalonian groups when I started memorizing it.
The verses I uploaded in Colossians were NKJV. (I memorize from both the KJV & NKJV--I know it's better to stick w/just 1 version, and they are similar, but I started memorizing in KJV (James, 1 John, Psalm 119, Psalm 2, Revelation 20 and a few other verse. I've even done a couple short sections in both versions, but never in the same group so it won't count double for a group. I have to think carefully when typing those passages so I remember to type the correct words.)
Everything I memorize now is in NKJV b/c that's the version the kids memorize from at the Christian school & AWANA so I want to be consistent w/what they're learning. Even if the passages show up as NKJV, anyone can switch the version quite easily. I've done it before while selecting a passage to learn with the group.
Feel free to edit those 1st 8 verses. I'll download the chapters later. I like being part of a group when I can rather than just doing it individually. BTW, many years ago I had memorized a couple books in the Bible (which I've since re-memorized & now review on Scripture Typer) Colossians was the 1st book I memorized after God convicted me about being consistent w/Scripture memorization. (I memorized it the year before I joined ST & then decided to type it on so I can review it regularly.) Thanks for starting this group.
Rachel :)
Thanks, mom2five! I just made you a group admin, if you'd like to add your verses I can edit that first section out to be in shorter chunks, the others look very do-able, 2-3 verses isn't bad for a section at all. Thank you for offering to add them!
I'm not very good at getting back on and checking message boards. I could upload my verses. Colossians was the 1st book I put up 13 months ago--before I knew what I was doing. I actually grouped too many verses together in the 1st section, but after that, I put them in what seemed like logical sections. You probably won't want my 1st section which really is too long, but I wouldn't mind retyping the 1st few verses even though I've typed them 29 times. Here's my divisions for ch. 1 (1-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-17, 18-20, 21-23, 24-26, 27-29). I'll send the other chapters, or if you make me a group administrator, I can upload mine, and you can always change them if you don't like the groupings.
I know what you mean about retyping. I just recently retyped Philippians 1 when I joined the larger Philippians group this past month. On a positive note, it is getting more review these days!
I won't be at all offended if you decide to go! I just noticed there were no groups for Colossians and wanted to put some lists together. If you would like I could make you a group administrator - either temporarily or permanently - and you could upload YOUR collections for Colossians! Would you like to do that? How are your verses grouped? Are they in sections of 2-4 verses or are they much longer? I just did them singly so I could get the lists up quickly :).
I was excited to see a Colossians group, as I memorized Colossians 2 years ago before I knew about Scripture typer. (I joined Scripture typer a year ago.) Anyway, Colossians was one of the 1st things I typed on my own. I really don't want to retype the whole book, and I also don't want duplicate verses in my total. (I ended up unsubscribing from the one Romans group after I had typed ch 8, 12 and joined the other Romans group which included the whole book rather than just 3 chapters.) I would delete my other Colossians list, but since I already typed those verses about 30 times, I really don't want to start over again. Don't be offended if I remove myself from this group. I'm not certain how else to transfer what I've typed already (unless the passages were identical, like it was in Philemon), but I grouped my verses rather than having them single. Thanks for starting these groups!
