Hi Everyone!
As you are aware, the Qualifying Test is coming up and will be available this Thursday through Saturday. In order to keep test content secure, please donβt post anything on the Participant Community, Scripture Typer, Quizlet, Memverse, Hangouts, or other social media about study/test-related content during the testing window.
You can also refer to the NBBC Qualifying Test Rules and Procedures here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BxHHZOwRo0aLGighonSMc5Ndn2pfKMiy37foiRvRH0o/edit
If you have any issues while testing, please call NBB Headquarters at 210-489-7311!
Press on!
Hmmm... let me guess... fourteen?? xP
Well, now *some* of them are showing. xP
I can only do that if I remove them and add them again, because I'm the one that added them. xP
That's really weird!!! Sorry, but I don't know how to fix it (unless you selected the collections while they were empty, in which case you need to un-select and then re-select them).
It's weird...none of my verses are showing up on any of the groups. xP
Hi guys I just made a group called memorize Genesis 1-3 it is specifically made for Bible Bee contestants you guys are all welcome to joinπ
Here's a group for 2017 Bible Bee: https://scripturetyper.com/group/view/c540179458/
I finished them, but this is a little late :P Sorry I didn't see it sooner!
How's studying going for everyone? Who has finished all the verses?
Is anyone going to add the Nationals passages and 1 John?
I think I agree with you there, though it is absolutely best to qualify and go. XD My studying is going pretty well. I've hardly started on my 1John study though, I've been too busy with vs. But after I finish them I'll spend all my time on 1John. XP
I got my wish/hope!! :D And we're going this year, which was actually what I was hoping for more than to qualify. (I would rather not qualify, but go, than to qualify and not go. :) But I got both wishes!!! How is everyone's studying?
National BB Google Doc link https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jrzdf0rHkTsDX0cqL2o-ug1P8_grSw5unEfrYVuFKZk/edit
Who all on here got their wish("hope")? I did! :D
@Noah from a while ago.. sorry I never saw it- We live in Greece so it's... pretty far. :D
There - I don't think that is quite all the CR's(I know there was at least some in Revelation) but Sarah made that collection for another group so I added it.
Everyone keep studying hard until the test!!!! :)
Thanks! I'm feeling mostly better. =/ Still stuffed up and with a sore throat, but I'm up and about. :) x) Yep I guess so. =)
I prayed for you! How are you feeling today? Thanks; I thought that the picture might be appropriate :).
Thanks so much! You can pray for me too - Yesterday I was feeling like I might be getting sick, even though Mama's "soaking" us with supplements, but I woke up today and am feeling quite a bit worse. =/ ...Cute picture:)
@Brianna: I'm glad to hear that! :) I'll continue to pray for their healing.
She was doing pretty good yesterday - her cough was not quite so croupy, if you know what I mean. We are still giving Taylor breathing treatments a couple of times a day, but he is doing well as well. x)
Good! How is she doing today? How is Taylor?
Mama left a little while ago to pick up Daddy and Jubilee! I'm so happy! xD
Thanks Anna! Yes I will. Mama thinks they're going to keep her overnight and then depending on how she does tonight(croup is a lot worse at night), maybe she'll be able to come home tomorrow. I sure hope so. :)
Oh no! I will pray for her. Please let us know how she's doing.
Okay - I'll try that. Everyone please pray for my little sister Jubilee - she was hospitalized last night for croup because Mama and Daddy took her in and the treatment they gave her there was not working.
Sorry! I don't think I have time, I'm so busy! Maybe you should make TornadoZach admin; since he generously volunteered to help?
SO sorry! I'm like, argh! =/ :P Grace(Wanliss, 'cause you're the one that asked), would you have time to add them if I made you admin?
That is kind of weird. :P I might do that - thanks for offering!
One of them calls me mommy which is really weird because I am a boy
Our chaplain on base has 12 kids
Although I am the oldest in a family of 5 kids
If you make me an admin I can help
Sure! - Trying to hurry! =/ But can you imagine how it is being the 3rd oldest in a family of 11? ... ;P
Could you also add Psalm 69:4, Psalm 41:9, Psalm 35:19 and Psalm 109:3? Thanks!
Thanks! I'll try to get those and some others up today or tomorrow. :)
Philippians 2:5-8, Ezekiel 11:19, John 12:23-28, Hebrews 9:13-14, Ephesians 5:1-2, 1 Corinthians 5:7, Mark 1:17, 1 John 3:16, 1 Timothy 1:15, Romans 10:11-13, Romans 8:6, Matthew 11:29-30.
There are many other important ones I haven't included.
If anyone has any suggestions of most important cross-references, I'm sure I wouldn't choose all the same ones! x)
I'm working on getting more CR's on here! Sorry about the delay! =/
Yes - we should! I'm sure we can figure it out! ;D
Although, when, I don't know. :P
I know! I miss you guys so much :') We should do a video call ;D
lol! xD *sigh* In a way remembering makes me sad. :)
Brianna: Fun memories! We were all laughing so hard. xD And she was telling us her "alphabet"... =D
Okay so I added a different locals collection because John 14:2-6 didn't seem to be in the other one. :)
@Grace: Sure - I'll do that ASAP. ;D I don't know if they're going to or not. They had said they were probably going to...but I haven't heard anything about it recently.
Also, do you guys know if the BBHQ is planning on releasing Early Release Passages?
Hi Brianna,
Could you please add some more major short CR's for us to memorize? Like Philippians 2:5-8.
Thanks so much!
xD haha! I remember that now! I think once she called Carissa "Dada". xD
Aww, Jubilee is so adorable ^_^ xD I remember how she was giving us all names and called Bethany "sissy"...I don't remember what my name was, though. x)
I like that picture, but I don't think I remember her name... :)
How's this one? ;D We still call her one of our 'babies'. xD
Haha, I'm teasing ;) But I did like seeing a happy baby whenever I looked at this group XD The sunrise is beautiful though!!
Away. ;P I like switching pictures. xD Maybe I'll put it back up later. xD This one is a sunrise out our backdoor. xD <3
Brianna! Where did you cute baby picture go?! ;D
Probably not for long! :P
Wow, Grace! You're ahead of Emily and Everett! ;P xP
I'm not exactly sure what you mean... ? (about the memory part...)
Did you know that the Primary review maps have key verses written in them? For John 13:1-20, it says the key verses are John 13:14-15. (And no, I'm not a primary...) I wonder if our memory passages from each chapter are supposed to be the key verses?
Yeah, we're pretty blessed. =) xP
we are about 5 hours away...
flying for us is very expensive... O.o. xP
Haha, lucky for you ;D I wish Nationals was 45 minutes from _my_ house. XD Got your email, thanks! Will respond soon ;) <3
xD I think so. (Of course, I live here, but I think I can feel for you. xP)
Flying down to Texas last year was especially expensive for me (being from Alaska) but it was worth it.
xD Yes! I smile every time I see it! =) I know! It's so great! Me too! (for both of us; I will be "at" Nat's either way, since I live here, but... x)) Miss you too! xD Yes! I think it was your turn... however long ago. xP
@Brianna: I love it too, it makes me happy to look at it =) I know, I can hardly believe we are more than half way to November!! Just praying I am at Nationals! x) Miss you, girl! We need to email again ;)
Well I think on ch. 13 it might be verse/s 14-15... I think it's pretty obvious on ch. 15(vs. 4-5), but I don't really have any ideas for ch. 14.
Do you guys have suggestions on Key Verses for each chapter of John 13-15?
@Rachel: I know! I love that picture! xD Only, what, a little more than 5 months till Nat's? xD
Yes! Now I wish I could see y'all! :')
xD I know, right!?! - I copied it off the BB website... I would think that's okay. xP Welcome Noah!
@Anna haha! it's cute. your picture is nice too! :)
I love the picture for this group! :D
Hmm. That's funny. =/ I don't know.
This group won't let me select the local passages to study with you, does anyone know why?
Hey, do you know how Matthew used to do all of that cool stuff with the logo. All that I have been able to do to it is make it big and turn it upside down
=) I think I liked it. :)
@Anna: They have not said for sure - Mama said that they are probably going to, because the majority liked it.
@Anna- BB hasn't said anything about that yet. I don't know if they will or not :/ Might be best to call or email them.
Are there going to be early release passages this year?
Okay, I asked him - he said he is not the only admin... whoa. Somebody made me admin within like 5 minutes of me being here... xP So I guess I get to do that! x)
I have started a group called "Bbiblebee Seniors 2016" at https://scripturetyper.com/Group/View/e262d1137c/
and you are welcome to join. Even if you are not seniors
Is Matthew even here? He has no verses current, so he has not been here for a while.
@Brianna- you have to tell Matthew to do that! As far as I know he's the only admin :P
Someone, it's time to take down last year's verses and put up this years! xD xD
URGENT!! I seriously have to WARN YOU!! The KJV BIBLE has been CHANGED! (Look up the #MandelaEffect) The Lords Prayer in the KJV is not correct anymore in the KJV (how we remember "tresspasses" changed to "debts" and "those who tresspass against us" changed to "our debtors" and "ON earth" in Mt6,10 changed to "IN earth" - look it up!!!) and John8:32 has changed, as well as Isaiah11,6 changed from "Lion and Lamb will live together" to "Wolve(s) and lamb will live together"
Check out the Mandela-Effect-Wiki for more Information! http://mandela-effect-wiki.tk
PS: i'm not joking, i'm totally serious!
PPS: even wikipedia censors this topic... (see discussion on startpage in the wiki)
you Need a lot more verses till second again
Join my group called the Pentateuch verse by verse too!
please join my group called screaming potatoes! invite others please
can you guys join my group? It's called christmas, inchelium WA. I might change it to everywhere tho. Please invite others! Thx!
Good! Cause I don't know how to fix it! =D
Okay, I think I got it working :)
For some reason it's not showing my verses for this group. So in other words, regardless of how much I review/"memorize" a verse on ST that's in one of the collections, it won't count. Anyone know why or how to fix that?
REVIEW!!! We have to get back to second :)
Hi everyone join my group please it" is called Bible bee game show memory.
Join my group it it called Noah and has 422 verses current.Nice job mathew And tell your sister the same.
Yeah... Congrats on making Semis, Matthew! As you can guess, nats is over! It was fun.... I would like a different picture, though, Pls... This one is not as nice as some of the others....
What I've done is pushed all my verses (legally) past Nationals dates. Now I should stay at 1077 verses current throughout Nats. You guys should have done the same! xP But it looks like somebody new joined Rouse Circle and is really into getting them ahead, so... :(
Oh dear. None of us will probably be able to review now, either.
OH NO! We lost our #2 position! :(
Really cool logo! Looks like a mosaic or stained glass?
The stained glass is pretty cool; Only, you can't tell what it says or stands for (Unless you already know, of course)
Most of these take all of 30 seconds for me to do... :P
And that is what Matthew spends his spare time doing... (JKJKJK!!!) ;P
This one is sort of twirly!
I think i still like the twirly version best and the puzzle version but i really like this one too!!
Hey! This one is pretty neat! I don't know which one I like best anymore ! :P
Yep really neat fractals!!!!!
Yay, fractals!! :D I like this one best, I think.
Ooh, okay! I know what that is. I actually like the logo that way! ;P
I'm using GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).
What software are you using to make all of those? ;D
I agree with Buddy and Grace. I like the puzzle!

I liked the twirly version! Best!
@Matthew- ok, great! It's gonna be fun to do this for Mr. U :)
I think I like the smushed version best xD
Yeah! I like the puzzle better

Matthew i think grace wants the logo Red not Black i don't really care which way it looks XD
Hey, I actually like the newest logo. The puzzle's cool!
@Cory - xD I emailed you.
Which way it was? I changed it about five times. =P
Why don't you change it back then?! :P (I liked it better the way it was!! =D)
*facedesk* You admin people really use your power, don't you? LOL. It was fun though! I thought it was because ST is kinda a buggy website... ;P I probably should have thought that an admin could change it -Any news about the poster thing?
You guys took a long time to catch on. ;P
Although he did say 'The logo thing must be getting old :P' Like he knew something about it.... :P- and since he's the only admin, no one can do anthing about it...
I wouldn't put it past him (JK) ;P
It must be Matthew. :P I realized Sunday that I have never read through all the verses. :/
Now whats wrong with the logo its all black!
Yeah that logo looks weird!!?!
Is it Matthew or ST that keeps on changing the logo? :) Nationals is only a week away!!!!!!!!!!!
Even do the logo is kind of weird i think it looks good!
I don't know! I was just about to ask myself!
What happened to the logo?
The logo thing must be getting old. :P
Ya... this is my first year in BB I'm a primary and i am really nervous!!!!! oh and I'm not rose garden I'm Sophia =D
I know.. Especially since they're probably relying more on the test because of the few oral passages.
NOW ONLY A WEEK LEFT!!!!! I'm trying to get everything into my head were is my john books!!π
ONLY TEN DAYS LEFT!! Yikes! ={}
I just joined this group.. I hope it helps you guys stay in second place! =D
@Emma- ok :) Normally it takes a little bit for the deletion to go through the system
@Cory:That was an accident. I tried to delete it, but it would not work
True... we've just been 'battling' them for so long that to me they embody all the rest of the groups xP
And all the rest of the groups... =P
hello I just discovered this group
Right. The only people that we want to be ahead of is the Rouse Circle of Bible Students
Haha! A lot of us are actually members of the Bible Bee 2015 John 1-12 group, so unless we leave that one, we probably don't have a chance. ;)
Go Nationals! You can surpass the BBs!
So who is better, the Nationals or the BBs
Now the logo is pixelated. xP
We should totally keep the logo like that xD It's so much different from the rest!
I wen't to sea world too and it was closed to
Now there are multiple logos for the picture. I wonder what's going on :).
Who turned the logo sideways? Is today sideways logo day??
We should have a meeting for Scripturetypers.
I was going to go to Sea world but it is closed.:(
You're welcome! Welcome to the group- what division are you in for Nationals?
You have to click 'show my profile' at the top of the list
We're almost 1,300 ahead of them!! ~yay!~
And now we have over 11,000 verses! Boy, that went up fast! :P jk
We now have over 1100 verses! Good job, everyone!
Congratulations on finishing your verses, EstherbenSimonides!
Great job, guys! We're currently more than 1,000 verses above 3nd place and are approaching 10,000 verses total!
I'm back, my friends! But it may take me a while to get all my verses back to current. :P Congrats on getting back to and staying at 2nd!!
@anna and @all they're a little over 100 verses off but most verses won't be current tonight if tarsus a day so go go go
yea. we can take them right guys?
I looked, and there's really only about 4-5 of them in that group that have significant amounts of verses memorized...
We're currently 2nd, but it looks like 3rd place wants to catch up :).
No! We're in third and slipping! Review!
Lets go guys! Only 8100 verses to pass up the next group! :D
Don't worry, when I'm in person with people outside my family I don't verbally correct their grammar...I only mentally correct their grammar. :P
Thank you grammar police XD I normally say was though... so please don't police my grammar at Nats :)
@Cory: *were @All: Nice. We're second again. :)
hey the group under is currently has BB peps
And lets get our rightful place backπ
we only have a couple hundred verses to go. we can do it if everyone helps!!π
*wishes Matthew was here to help*
GO everyone!! you can do it
32 VERSES TO BE SECOND! GO GUYS AND REVIEW!
Apparently not- we're third again :(((
My verse number is going to be dropping for a while. Can you guys still stay at #2 without me? ;D If you can, we'll be solidly there once I return!
Most of your probably already know this, but the list of National contestants is up on the Bible Bee website!!!
2nd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're only 200 verses to 2nd! Let's see if we can get back to our rightful place ;).
Sorry :P I'll work on reviewing.
Sorry! I have a bunch of verses to review :P.
C'mon guys! We're dropping our verse count!
Well, I don't know exactly how, but we jumped up to 2nd! Can we keep it this time? xD
*decides to say something* xP Delie! We need your help!! =P
Great job on your John summary, Thomas!
Oops! I didn't realize that my brother (Thomas) was logged in :).
Don't go spamming the wall now, Cory. ;)
wow this is really amazing all that you can do!
good job on your diligent studying everyone!
wow Matthew, that is really cool!!!
I wonder if this one works?
ScriptureTyper allows simple HTML coding. In fact, it processes each wall post as HTML. Use < b > (without the spaces) to begin bold and < / b > to end it.
Thanks, Everett! @Matthew: How do you put words in bold? :)
Ditto here too. Those words are not on the cards (at least in NKJV)
Ditto to Matthew. Only say the words that are on the cards.
Any additional words not on the cards will be a point deduction.

This question may have already been asked, but will we be deducted for saying "A Psalm of David," "A Psalm of Thanks," etc. at the beginning of the relevant Psalm passages? Thank you!
Thank you, Hannah!!! I'm very excited!!!!!!!! Congratulations to any Primaries or Juniors who have finished your verses!!! I don't know how many y'all have, so I don't know if y'all are finished.
Congrats Anna on finishing the verses!!
Yay! *highfives everyone* We're ahead by a couple hundred verses!
Congrats guys, we made it to second again! Let's keep that spot this time! ;)
Thank you, Rachel! I never found out which 3 verses ST hadn't been counting for me, but they eventually added up.
Congratulations on finishing your verses, Carissa! ^_^
(How you all can type 1,077 verses in one day I don't know. xD xP )
@Carissa Pfft. Its fine. When have I ever been against enthusiasm? :P
Congratulations on finishing your verses, Carissa!!!

Yay nearly! Hey Thomas!
We're very close to being 2nd again.
You're not talking about me, are you. xP
*Is so happy* ^_^ Sorryyy!!! Maybe I should talk on here as I would in person...
It is a strong likelihood. Its funny, with you being gone from Mv, I've become less used to your (uhh) very expressive personality. Lots of emoticons, overused punctuation, and drawn out words! :P
Hahaha! Don't ever let me feel satisfied with my studying, Sauroc! ;D
LOL! xD S! You're coming to Nats, right????
Matthew, stop slackin'! :D I know its funny to hear coming from me, but srsly... :P JK
@Matthew: *facepalm* That's great! :) @Delie: Ah, okay. :)
HaHa! Yes, our family takes a break from the internet on Monday so I dropped a lot of verses. Hopefully we can be second again soon!
Sorry, but it hardly even makes sense to say sorry to what I just said. ;D
Pretty good, I think. Now that I'm finished learning my verses I'm trying to get myself into Phase 2 and start focusing on John even more. It's hard for my mind to grasp that I'm already finished learning. xP
Sorr....*slaps myself and mutters* Nevermind. How's your studying going?
That's what I thought you'd say. ;P
I noticed that but wasn't going to say anything... xP
Delie let her verses go as well... ;P
Ok, I'll review my verses since I'm proly the one who didn't review their verses so we dropped :(
At least we were second... ;P
Hey Bible Bee friends! I was wondering if I could borrow five short minutes of your hectic schedules. =) You see, I hope to write an article on the Bible Bee to be published in a homeschool magazine and would love to include a few quotes about your opinion of the Bible Bee (You can fill the form out below easily). May the Lord abundantly reward you for your help! :)ο»Ώ Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/13xeMqahdF84orRmrgz-sQOfLmlhmN7PJUaXVSHP3k_E/viewform?usp=send_form
Great job, everybody. This group is now second on the leaderboard. :)
@Cory: He was someone from our local bee the next year. :) He hasn't been to Nats since 2011 though. I was only 13. ;)
Thanks, Everett and Emily! Congratulations to everyone else!
;D I was thinking about learning them all on here in one day like you did. xP
@Delie: Yes, congratulations on finishing the verses! :D And I know some other people have finished too, so congrats to you guys as well. xD
I'm not sure who Seth is, but I'm glad you remember! :D
@Cory: ...Sounds like something Noah or sam would say... *facedesk* Oh. My. Yes! I remember that! That's when we learned that we all knew how to play Dutch Blitz, and Seth played with us, and that was just totally awesome. I remember you now! :)
@Mommy's Helper- It didn't actually say her full last name on MV, but it said 'Pentinose', so I deduced that it was so.
Cory: Where did you see her last name on MV?!?!
I did get your email, thanks Cory!
@Cory: Yeahhhh....that isn't supposed to be on MV. :P But yes, I am a P. Who is your older sister?
@Matthew- did you get my email?
(I sent it a few days ago) D:
@Carissa, I thought I saw somewhere on the MV forums that you are a Pentimone. If this is the case then I actually know you (But you wouldn't know me, you would know my older sister) :P.

@Delie - I'm missing one verse that I can't find in the list. Congratulations on finishing the verses! :)
Okay, yeah, probably a passage or two you just accidentally deleted. :)
@Matthew: On ST I'm still 3 verses short of the total number. I think Emily had 1077 at one point, so it must be a problem on my account. I skimmed through the list to see if any missing verses stood out, but I probably need to check more thoroughly. They aren't the Ephesians verses.
@Delie - You mean on ST, or in your cards? I would say check the list of Nats verses just to make sure. (Are they by chance Ephesians 2:8, 2:13, and 3:8?)
@Delie: At least I'm not alone. ;)
@Carissa: I got the decimals mixed up at some point too and thought we were closer than we were. @ALL: I seem to be missing 3 verses and I have no idea what they are. Has anyone else had this problem?
@Cory: .................. *facedesk* :P
As Zach would say, facedesking takes part of your lifespan away ;P... so don't do it!
...Go ahead and hit me please. I have absolutely no brain. Yeahhhh. *facedesk, facedesk, facedesk, facedesk, facedesk*
Well, citizens, I hope that helped you get to second place...y'all are less than one hundred verses behind the 2nd place group.
@Matthew: Ohhhhhh. *facepalm* I don't have a brain. Thanks, Matthew!
You'll have to add this group's collections first Carissa, then it should sync fairly soon. If you already have, I don't know what to say. :\
Soooo...question here... How long does it take for it to sync my memory verses with this group...?

Yes you did misread my comment but thats fine Yes i am graces sister (sophia) and I'm a primary
Welcome to the group, Ann! :)
Oops! I noticed that she said "Ann" instead of "Anna", but I thought that she had misread or mistyped my name :).
@Anna- she was talking to Ann S. who was talking below.
@Rose Garden: No, haha! I'm a Senior :). You're a Primary, right? And are you Grace's sister?
Congratulations, Emily! When did you finish?
Congratulations Emily!!!!!π
Hi Ann are you a primary?
Ok, I've actually deleted all my John 3 verses from my Primary pre-release collection. Does anyone know how I can add them back to the collection?
I think I accidentally deleted a passage (John 3:3-8) from the Primary pre-release collection wile trying to add the verses separately to practice. Can I only add the passage back to My Verses separately or is there a way for me to put it back into the collection? Thank you!
Congratulations on finishing your verses, Emily!!!!! :D
No problem, Carissa. If you want to join, you might be able to put this group 2nd with the verses you already have!
Oh. That makes sense. Thanks for explaining, Delie.
@biblebee: Actually, we only have to memorize the verses once for them to count toward both groups. If you select a collection here and already have those verses current on the other group, they should count here automatically. Sometimes ST can be a little slow to respond, though.
Wait. Guys. So, y'all who are on two+ Bible memory groups have like lots of verses memorized on ST... Cause you have to memorize them on here and then again on the other groups you are on, right? *facepalm* Y'all! Wow!
@Emma: I have a hard time with it, too. If you have the app, you can review using flashcards. So if you recited the verse to someone else, you can count it as reviewed. That helps me, but I still lose a lot of verses :P.
@Emma - The more you review, the larger the interval gets, so it actually gets a little easier :) Just takes some time.
Great job everyone for getting 3rd!!
@Anna - Unless we all leave it... ;P
I'm having a hard time keeping up! The more verses I learn, the harder it is to keep up..... How do you guys do it? ;-)
Grace, are you done with your verses?! :D
Let's see if we can get to 2nd before Nationals (I'm pretty sure that we can't beat the John 1-12 group)!!!
Now we're the 3rd group! Great work, everyone!
Acts 17:19-31 is missing the top 3 verses its a primary card
@Cory_Bryce yeah my mom did that I would've done that myself except I couldn't
This group is 6th!!! Hurrah for Bible Bee groups! :)
ya in my card Isaiah 40:3-5 there was a mistake to
@Matthew, I think the encouragement for prayer requests has to fit in the (typing) box and not go over to be able to post... which means you can only have four lines of encouragement. (This happened to me, which is why my encouragement for the BB prayer request is split into several pieces.
@BibleBee1215, the BB said to email them at contest@biblebee.org if you see any passages that are wrong that haven't been already corrected.
I was checking my brother on Isaiah 40:3-5 and then realized the BB had made 2 typos lol
and the corrected passages
It looks like the cards for the full release passages are on the website now!!!!!!!!! :)
@Matthew - Only by the grace of God :D These are pretty famous verses though, and I was familiar in some way with ~75% of the NT passages. Also helps that I completely overstudied the CRs since many of these passages are from the SG. Also agree about the spiritual battle... It can only be the devil's work to suppress such a God-glorifying program.
Wow, there is definitely spiritual battle going on here. I just typed up a whole paragraph of encouragement for Allison's prayer request, and then it's not letting me post it! And I eventually lost it for some reason.
*is amazed at how fast Everett got the verses done* Go Everett!!!
I thought it was 227. Thanks!
Without the overlaps there were 227. (BTW both of those figures include Local verses.)
There were 293 Senior pre-release verses.
Thank you so much, Matthew! :) Do you know what the exact count was for the Senior pre-releasers?
Thank you, Matthew! :) That will be very helpful.
Oh, and I'm sure my mom will appreciate having these numbers for my Primary brothers.
Thanks, Matthew! It's nice not to have to add all that up myself. Now I just need to figure out my goal deadline and how many verses I should be memorizing per day.
@ALL: Here is a newly refined list of figures for the number of Nats verses. I goofed again on the Senior calculations (I missed a passage) so we're back to 1077. xP I'm about 95% sure these calculations are correct.
Primary:
Full number of passasges - 153 (141 w/o Locals)
Full number of verses - 553 (512 w/o Locals)
Full number of verses without overlaps - 552 (511 w/o Locals)
Junior:
Passages - 183 (171 w/o Locals)
Verses - 799 (758 w/o Locals)
Verses w/o overlaps - 719 (678 w/o Locals)
Senior:
Passages - 205 (193 w/o Locals)
Verses - 1077 (1036 w/o Locals)
Verses w/o overlaps - 880 (839 w/o Locals)
*Ahem* Well, I gave two different numbers... :P Taking into account all overlaps (each verse, no matter if it's in the passages once, twice or three times, counts as one verse), there are 879 individual verses total (41 local + 186 pre-release + 652 additional). The cumulative total of the passages (each occurrence of the same verse being counted as one verse - so if John 5:24 is also used in John 5:24-49 and John 5:19-29, it's "three" verses) there are 1076. That's the number that would show here, once/if you get all the group verses current. This overlapping passage thing is so confusing... xP
Oh, so you *aren't* counting overlaps for the verses released yesterday? :) Sorry, I'm a little confused :).
@Anna - Yes. Not counting overlaps there are 879 total.
@Hannah - Good point! That wasn't always the case with entire-Psalm passages, but it has been for the past few years. The Psalm 119 passages also occasionally had a Hebrew letter before the passage. Once the cards are released we'll know that info for sure. Right now, I'm just memorizing them as Scripture Typer loads them. I don't think ST currently supports having a "verse 0" as the title of a Psalm, like Memverse does.
I have a question about the Psalm passages. :)
In previous years the card would include where it said something like "To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David". But since the cards aren't out yet are you all memorizing that part with the passage or not?
@Matthew: Okay :). You're counting verses that are overlaps, right?
If you guys make your own verse cards, my mom was just reminding me to at least make sure they are word-for-word with the BB ones when they do release their cards! (*doesn't like not being able to edit* xP)
I used Microsoft Excel. ;P
Hmm, I guess I miscounted :P. I used a calulator, though.
According to my calculations: Seniors have 1076 total verses (783 released today + 252 pre-release + 41 locals). Taking into account the overlaps, there are 879 unique verses.
41 locals @Delie :). So it's 1,142 verses, but a lot of those are repeats.
Another pair of 6 chapters
@Anna:Wow! 849 National verses + 252 Pre-release verses + I forget how many Local verses = A LOT. I guess the overlaps will make it easier. It looks like many of the memory passages are fairly common.
JOHN 7-12!!!!! (Sadly I can't say here I come... :()
I just added up the Senior verses, and it looks like we have 849 verses! I am counting passages that overlap each other, but not Locals or Pre-Release. I may have miscounted, so please let me know if you got a different number :).
Rachel, they said "Downloadable PDF memory cards for Remaining Nationals Passages will be released soon!" So I guess you'll just have to wait (or make your own) :D
Make your own! I wonder what the study passage is............. why didn't they announce it?
Yay! I just want the cards! xD
Full Release passages lists are now up!! :D
Yes, I don't see why not! :) Hopefully I will get them up, if not tomorrow, then Saturday.
@Matthew: When all the verses for Nationals are released, will they be added to this group?
I figured out how to see the Junior verses. Thanks!
Anna- No, I don't use the app; just the website.
Ohhhh i guess i'll just have to get him to delete those comments..
Hi, Rachel! Do you use the app? The app sometimes doesn't always work quite right, so that might be your problem.
Ummm..... I can't delete them Rose Garden... only the admins and the person who commented can delete their comments... but it doesn't matter. Matthew can delete them if he wants, but...
Hi Rachel! I'm sorry, I'm not sure what's going on... When you add verse lists from a group, ordinarily they show up on the "My Verses" page under the group name on the left column. If they're not there, there might be a bug in the system. If you want them in your own verse collections (middle column), I don't know of an easy way to copy them over to there - sorry!
Hello! This is Rachel M. from MV. :) I have a question....so I chose to memorize the Junior collection for this group, but the only verses that are showing up on my verse list are the ones I manually 'imported'. Do I have to come here to do them, or is there something I can do to put them on my personal verse list?
ohhh sorry I don't have a delete button could you delete it for me if you can and thanks for the little spelling lesson LOL :D
Above your comment it says: Rose Garden Thursday, Aug 13, 2015 at 12:29 PM remove Click on the remove button and it'll delete.
How do you delete comments? i dont know how
Thanks. Would you mind deleting those comments? (Oh and BTW sure doesn't have an "h" in it.)

yes i did see you at quiz (i was the last!!!ππ so that was kind of embarrassing!)
Yep, you saw me at the quiz yesterday :P The Seniors have just as few verses as everyone else for Locals... If you're talking about Nats, I don't know how either! When I went in 2013 I had to memorize 450 verses and I only memorized about half of them. :P

Yes i did. last year was my sisters first year i didnt do bb then because I whanted to see how it whent will i see you at the quiz today?
Cool Anastasia! Rose Garden: No, that's a good score, especially is it's your first year in BB! Did you complete the Orals requirement?
Mommys helper i am a primary so i did kind of bad :(((
Oh, I'm sorry :( Hopefully next year both of us can go to Nats! Oh Anastasia are you a JR or SR?
Good job Rose Garden!! Were you in Juniors? @Anastasia: Good job you too! ( I don't know your score but I'm sure you did great!) What was your score?
You're right Matthew... you haven't won yet... :P
Haha, I haven't won it yet. =P Just placed third. But I know what you mean. =) Thanks! To God be the glory!
Hannah: The Adams didn't compete this year :( Matthew tied with Joshua Bontrager :)
Thanks Katie! Sadly, we aren't going... :( did you make it? Oh and Matthew, congratulations for winning THIRD! :O (Did you tie with Elizabeth Adams?)
I MADE NATIONALS!!! 81st best Junior across the country! :P
Okay... I'll try to wait that long.
When will the scores be up on the website?
Exactly, Rachel. There's some people in particular that I think have a good chance, and I'm looking forward to celebrating with whoever does make it. xD
Because I know my score, I think I'm alright finding out whether I qualify or not in front of a group (it's not too big of a group, anyway. xD ) I'm actually looking forward to seeing everyone *else's* reactions, if they make the cut. xD
Well, let's just say... I was pleasantly surprised :) Yeah, I guess I understand that. But yeah, the Bible Bee has kind of a reputation for making changes that people don't like at first but then grow to love! xD
If I counted correctly, Seniors have 252 early release verses (including passages that overlap each other).
@Matthew: OK :). No, I haven't heard your score yet. I'm pretty happy with my score, but I still don't want to find out in front of my local group. Well, there have been changes that the Bible Bee has made that I didn't like at first, but really liked later, so maybe this is one of them :).
Haha, yes, Anna! That might have something to do with my score - not sure if you heard what it was. :P But more than that, I think it's a great motivation to get people to come to Award Day. I also am very excited to see our National qualifiers this year - I think our locals stands a good chance of sending a lot to Nats this year. :D
@Matthew: You want to find out in front of your local Bee?!? You're the first person that I've heard say that.
@All: What would you do if no one in your Bee qualified?
Yeah, Rachel. I was talking about Saturday as opposed to Friday though, because I'm really looking forward to being able to find out the national qualifiers at Award Day. Funny thing, this time I want to find out later. =P
Matthew: IT BETTER BE. xD I might die if it isn't. xD xP The hosts will get the placements on Friday though, correct?
Saturday is Awards Day. But sadly, we don't have any host anymore :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
It'll be Saturday. And it had better be. xD
I'm so excited for everyone! =) Can't wait for the placements come Friday or Saturday! :D
I've been sharing my score with people via email, Hannah. However, I suggested on Memverse, I'll do it here too, that we not do it quite yet on social media, as it could ruin the anticipation for Local placements as well as for some people who might not want to know yet. :)
No problem, Hannah :)
@Riley - biblebee.org.
@"Awesomeness" - Let's not spam the wall please... ;)
sorry I'm Riley, and I just joined.
whats the website for the bible bee?
Oh sorry Matthew. Okay now I can say, I finished the test and it was super easy! :)
However, I think you can say if you've completed it. :)
As admin of this group, I cannot allow any discussion of the test content until after the posted time by SKF when testing closes.
Or, are we not allowed to say?!?
Has anyone taken the test yet?
Tomorrow!!!!! Praying for you all!
\/ \/ \/ \/ (What Anna said.)
Wow, Rachel! Six weeks sure is a lot less than twelve! :(
DON'T REMIND ME RACHEL!!!!!!!! *glares*
@Mommys Helper: I edited mine on ST already, I just wanted others to know to do the same.
Wow, thanks Delie! You can edit verses on ST too JSYK
@ESV-ers: If you are using ST to memorize, I wanted to let you know that the release cards are different for Isaiah 40:3-5 and 53:1-12. ST uses the word "and" in both of these passages in places where the memory cards just have a comma. There may be other differences, but I thought I should go ahead and mention these two that I found.
@Rachel: Yes. But if I qualify for Nationals, then I'll memorize the rest, of course :).
Anna: Are you referring to the Nats release passages?
@Rachel: Not really. Once I saw that I had some verses current because of what I had memorized from John, my competitive side got the better of me :), so now I've memorized nearly all of the passages from John plus five or so short, familiar passages not in John. I don't plan to memorize very many; just a few that are good CRs.
@Matthew: yes, that really helps. x)
There. That's about all I know to do.
Oh, you mean John 6:68-69 is still in there? Okay.
Tried again. Hopefully it'll work. If not, just edit it in your own verses. Sorry about that! :)
You've got it fixed, but the wrong passage is still in there. JSYK.
I edited that a while back but it might have messed up, Delie... Trying once more...
The Primary collection has John 6:68-69, but I think it is supposed to be John 6:66-69. Should I edit this in my own verses or will it be changed for everyone?
I've been doing some new ones when I have time but mostly just focusing on the ones I already knew. One good thing is, most of the pre-release verses are excellent cross-references for John 1-6 already. :D
Are y'all working on memorizing the pre-release Nats verses yet? I'm waiting, just because I'm focusing on locals and am so busy otherwise ;)
Yep, it's fixed now! Thanks! And sorry about the Isaiah passage... even though I have memorized half of the passages, the other half I have hardly even looked at XP
I fixed that, I thought... :P And as for Isaiah, that's a Locals passage. ;)
Oh, and Isaiah 12:2-5 is missing too... (it's a primary passage)
Ummmmm.... Matthew, I think you forgot to uncheck the "split into indiviual verses" button thingy when you added it. Numbers 21:4-9 is a whole passage; not individual verses you have to memorize; but you added them as individual verses.
Ooh, you're right, thanks Delie! Adding it now. :)
I think Numbers 21:4-9 is missing from the collections. Thanks in advance!
BibleBeeButterfly: No, I'm not. Actually, I didn't even know there was a game show.
Hehe, @MH, I did almost the exact same thing. xD
I just typed out Genesis 1:1. But you know what I did the first time? I started typing, "In the beginning was the...." XP And the second time I did it I felt my finger reaching out in the direction of the "w", not the "g". :D
Anastasia: Are you the girl who was in the National Bible Bee Game Show?
Thanks for inviting me, Matthew :) I think I "qualify" for this group...this is my first year in seniors, so I'm not really expecting to make it, but I'm hopeful :P lol
Hannah: I hope you're right =)
I guess soooo.......... Yeah, I'm glad they're doing that! Even though we won't go, it'll still be fun to memorize all the verses!
With all the changes this year... can ANYBODY be confident?? :P @Anna, yesss, I really missed that, I'm glad they're bringing it back!!
You'll probably qualify Rachel... you qualified last year, and you didn't move up a division!
Ditto to Anna....I *really* REALLY want to go, but not a confident that I'll qualify person. xP
BTW, Anna...*love* your picture. Wish I have mine like that. XD
I think I have maybe a 50% chance of qualifying. Maybe. Everyone else (almost) that I've asked thinks I'll almost certainly make it. I don't know; I guess we'll find out! :)
I think that the overlapping of verses for age divisions is really nice. I heard my siblings recite their verses so much last year, that now I know some of them :)!
I'm a Bible Bee hopeful, but not a Bible Bee confident-that-I'll-qualify :(.
I'm a BB hopeful but I'm sure we won't go to Nationals...
Yes, I am a BB hopeful. XD
Oh, I see! That's cool Matthew!
thanks for explaining the overlapping of the verses, Matthew. :)
Meaning, if you're a Senior, you'll also do the verses in the Primary and Junior sets. ;)
@Hannah - Let me know if I missed anything, but I think I got all the verses - the older age groups include all of the verses for the younger ones.
Technically this group is for memorizing the Nationals 2015 pre-release verses; I named it "Bible Bee Hopefuls" because I thought that probably most of the people here would be memorizing these verses because they hope/want/plan to get to Nationals. :)
Matthew: Are you going to add more verses to the Nats verses? Because there are more in the JR and SR that have been released...
Yeah; I don't get the name...
What exactly is this group? For people who are hopeful that they will qualify for and go to Nationals?
