“The heart of becoming more like Christ is not trying hard to do the right thing and saying no to sinful ways. Holiness comes as you fix your eyes on Jesus, behold his glory, and treasure him above all else. When he captivates your heart, you cannot help but be transformed!” Joni Eareckson Tada

good morning brothers. I had a life long porn addiction. after trying to fight it on my own for years and failing I came across a Bible plan called “freedom fighters” it has helped me so much. when it came time for the accountability part I had to be honest with myself. if I had partners who were friends it would be easier for me to hide any failures etc. i made the decision to confess my sin to my wife. it had a much greater impact. now when I’m tempted I think of how much it hurt her when I told her and I consider that if I were to fall I would need to confess all over again it lie. this so far has helped me remain more pure. hope this helps. by the way confession to her was the hardest thing but after a bit of time she began to understand it wasn’t about her not being good enough etc but that all men go through this
Be aware, brothers, that accountability can be a help...but it is not a silver bullet. It is not included in the armor of God (Ephesians 6). Other men can have good intentions, but unfortunately also are likely to ultimately disappoint. Consider developing an accountability to our Lord, and nurturing your intimate relationship with Him.
Much appreciated. I am, but am having a hard time finding someone to give me that accountability.
Zach M - I will be praying specifically for you in the meantime.
Zach M - I am glad you are reaching out and admire your intention. I strongly recommend that you seek accountability with someone: 1) Who you can meet regularly with eye to eye, 2) who already has continual victory over sexual sin, and 3) is willing to be comitted to your spiritual growth. Are you part of a local church?
I desperately need some accountability with my porn problem. Can anyone help me?
Press on, brothers. No turning back. Purity in 2021. One day at a time.
