Hello everyone, I have set up an event in my facebook group 'Christian Jokes and Motiviation' on memorizing Revelations. The target is 2-3 verses per day but we will be doing it sooner by God's grace. The translation I'm using is KJV. Hope this will be helpful to some of you. And those at 404 verses should give us some tips. Thank you.
Hello guys, Revelation is a very strong content to memorize. it has ability to transform our lives and it's also most difficult to memorize. I want all group members to get active and climb up the leader boards.

His name is Eknoor and he has been manic all week and his mother is tired and spiritually drained. she needs us to hold up her arms as she prays! she’s begging for divine intervention this day! that God would let this young man literally see Heavenly hosts standing around him! Let him hear the voice of The Holy Spirit! let him receive a healing miracle today and that he would have a miraculous testimony of how Jesus met him right there in his room and released him from addiction! from bipolar depression and broke every chain the enemy has attached to him!! Will you stand in the gap with me today???
Of all the collections in the group, Whosoever Will, the most faith-building and inspiring collection is "Jump Start: John" with 259 verses. The next most inspiring collection is "50 Bible Texts E.W." with 120 verses, taken from the book Early Writings page 24. The chapter and verse of each one was shown to Ellen White while in vision.

On Whosoever Will, a group, I am putting up collections of chapters in Revelation that are verse by verse, to make it easier to memorize it. Then when the chapter is memorized verse by verse a person can graduate to the clumps of verses as presented in this group's collections. :)
URGENT!! I seriously have to WARN YOU!! The KJV BIBLE has been CHANGED! (Look up the #MandelaEffect) The Lords Prayer in the KJV is not correct anymore in the KJV (how we remember "tresspasses" changed to "debts" and "those who tresspass against us" changed to "our debtors" and "ON earth" in Mt6,10 changed to "IN earth" - look it up!!!) and John8:32 has changed, as well as Isaiah11,6 changed from "Lion and Lamb will live together" to "Wolve(s) and lamb will live together" Check out the Mandela-Effect-Wiki for more Information! http://mandela-effect-wiki.tk See here the page concerning changes in Bible-Translations: http://mandela-effect.bplaced.net/doku.php?id=changes_in_bible-translations_overview PS: i'm not joking, i'm totally serious! -btw. no, you cannot go to some original manuscript and look at Isaiah11:6 - it probably got changed as well. This might as well be the deception spoken of in 2Thess2 and Mt24 and also the fulfillment of the Prophecy in Amos8,11-14

Hello Sean, Iv'eHeard about you, you are in the GC
Hi Sean. Thanks. No problem. More review can't hurt!
Hi Jason, There isn't any way to do that from my experience if your verse arrangements are different...
Hi friends. I have been memorizing Revelation for a few months before joining this group. Is there a way i can get the verses I've already memorized to register in this group without having to re-"memorize" them all?
How nice Mr. Wan! This is definitely a wonderful place for memorization and by God's grace it will stick this time! ST has been an amazing blessing to me and I'm sure it will be to you too! :)
Welcome Mr. Wan! It's awesome that you memorized the first 12 chapters using tapes. I think any method of memorization can work well, depending on personal preference, but the key is always repetition.
Hi All, Some years ago I had managed to quickly memorize the first 12 chapters of Revelation using tapes. Not a good idea. I have since forgotten most of it. This time Lord willing I intend to make it stick.
Hi everyone! I am planning (Lord willing) on writing about book about memorizing Scripture. I would like to include some of your tips and testimonies to encourage my readers. I have a forum here that you can answer some of my questions, in the hopes of benefiting my future readers. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1PWlE8XDune0oge-V4lary_7DOGOeld66s28Ck7eOroE/viewform?usp=send_form Thank you so much for taking the time to be a blessing and an encouragement to those who desire to pursue the knowledge of the Lord through the habit of memorization.
Be careful the Rouse circle of bible students just might pass you up!
When I imported Rev. chapters 1 and 2 the first passage of each chapter is missing. I added them separately but they are not showing up in my collection so I will appear to be 8 verses short of being finished and I don't know how to fix it.
Hey all! Some of my family (Mum, Dad, sister and I) are going to be in the US come this August. We will be there from the beginning of the month till the 25 or so, and we were wondering if there were any families who would want to have some Aussie visitors. lol Since we are mapping out our route atm. If anyone would like to have us over, please message me. Thanks!!
@Johann Actually it does work for Typing It or Memorizing It too (at least for me). If get to the Review All Verses Combined Together Page all you have to do is click the button: 1. Type It. At least that works for me.
Okay, thanks, I will have to try that again.
@Johann If you want to memorize the whole chapter at once, I think the best thing is to edit one of the chapter sections to include all the verses. You can then just delete the other sections.
Thanks, I have seen that but it only works for reviewing.
Thanks, I have seen that but it only works for reviewing.
@Johann Just a clarification. The chapters are listed on the right side of the page. That is where you will click to get the dropdown.
@Johann If you are typing the computer you can go to the Review tab at the top of this page and when you get there click the chapter you want to memorize all at once and there will be a dropdown of options for that chapter - click the one that is entitled: Review All Verses Combined Together. You will then be able to do the whole chapter at once. There is a similar button on the iphone app if you use that. Hope that helps!
Can I work on (type memorize and master) the whole chapter all at once instead of breaking it up into sections?
Looks like it is fixed now. :)
Mine are correct. I haven't seen them incorrect over the past few days either, so maybe it's just affected a few people?
@Katie A: we've all got the same bug. Maybe due to the fact that Memory Typer just launched. Will make sure it's fixed. :)
@Janalin, I don't think any of my numbers are accurate...pretty sure they're completely random. I wasn't really paying attention to them until they stopped making sense. lol
@Katie, Mine just started making up statistics too. I have no idea why. If anyone comes up with a way to fix this let me know. Are any of your numbers accurate, or are they completely random?
I'm just wondering, my little statistics bar thing says under verses memorized: "585 out of 369," and under passages memorized: "362 out of 87,"...how does that work? How can I have more done than what I actually have? Is there anyway to fix it?
working on this. @Jessica G :)
@Vangie, that has worked in the past, but for the last week nothing has worked. I have no clue what else to try... Has anyone else had this problem?
I've had that problem quite a bit lately myself, Jessica. I'd thought it was because of my slow internet.... But for a short-term solution, I just refresh the page heaps. :)
I'm having a problem with ST this week, when I review or type a new verse, it will let me type, but the text is black and won't enter onto the page, if I type wrong it won't turn red either. Basically I can't do any typing at all. I checked all my settings....Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks Rachel, I made one a couple of days ago but this one is nicer than mine. I found organising it all graphically helpful. I even have a picture to illustrate Revelation 1. Revelation has potential for some interesting illustrations!
For those of us that are having trouble remembering which praise, admonition and warning goes with which church in chapters 2 and 3, I found a very helpful chart online: http://fromstevesdesk.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/revelation-2-3-chart-messages-to-seven-churches.pdf Enjoy!
@Teresa, that's an excellent point that I need to remember. I really need to follow Christ's example in dealing with people because I'm very much inclined to not to think about what I approve of in someone's character when I feel they have wronged me or someone else. What has impressed me in looking at Revelation is the emphasis on Christ's authority. He is the price of the kings of the earth. He has the key of hell and of death, and He was dead and is alive forever more. Even John fell at His feet as one dead. However, Christ was saying in Revelation 1 that we have nothing to fear because He really is in control. I think this is very important when we get to Revelation 13. We can emphasize the sea beast and be afraid, but Christ really is the one who has glory and dominion forever and ever. I also like how Revelation 1 talks about the high calling we have in Christ. He washed us from our sins in His own blood and hath made us king and priests unto God and His Father. That's amazing. I have to ask myself, do I really believe that? Do I recognize really how much God loves me, and do I really recognize His purpose for my life? I'm glad that we're memorizing Revelation together. It gives me encouragement to keep on going.
@NeedJesus, I watched the promo video, which looks great. I hope it can be out before September, so it can help us with our memorization of Revelation. ;)
I've like Jennifer Jill's health songs very much. They're classic.
Hi Franklin, that is a good question. I learned some things that I wasn't necessarily looking for! Jesus deals with his erring children by first telling them what He approves of, and then tucks the thing He disapproves of in the middle of the commendations. It kind of sugar coats the reproof. I think this is good to file away for a wonderful parenting tool. It's also useful for any relationship, church discipline, etc!

Hey guys, some friends of mine and I have been working on putting the entire book of Revelation to song. The project is called The Lamb Wins and we would really appreciate your prayers! Here's the promo video. http://youtu.be/RO9jvHDmlCM Please spread the word! Thank you and Happy Sabbath.
What has been the most interesting thing you've learned about Revelation so far after taking on this challenge?
Here's where you can download audio mp3s of Revelation and the whole bible: http://www.audiotreasure.com/.
Someone else has probably already figured this out, but just in case...
While helping my sister, I realized that the reason blank friend requests are sent is that the person requesting has forgotten to sign himself in first. Make sure you sign in before adding someone :)
Thanks for the link Kerrilyn! It is a great resource! I am pressing on! :)
@Kerrilyn. Thanks for sharing. :) I read through around half it it this morning. It's amazing that he memorized the whole bible!
Morning fellow memorisers. Like you all I want to memorise this book and retain it. In my hunt for the best way to approach this I came across this book written nearly 100 years ago by a man who actually memorised the whole Bible...it is very comprehensive, though not long, and I am sure you will all gain someting from it. You can view it free here http://memorizethebible.com/ Press onward toward the goal. :)
@Sara, your advice worked. Thanks.
I'm going to go back to typing the first letter, though, but thanks again. :)
@Franklin, I think it has to do with typing verses out in the type-it mode. That is the only place where your wpm is calculated/averaged. My wpm shows up at like 26 I think, but I really average around 50. I hardly ever use type-it mode, but when I did I made sure I typed really slow because you have to type all the master its within a certain percentage of your wpm for it to "count" as memorized or reviewed. Also if you use the app or the feature of only typing the first letter on the website, I don't think it shows wpm. Hope this helps :)
Why does Scripture Typer say I have a 0 wpm typing speed? Is it because I'm using a mac on Google Chrome...?
@mlowe, You're welcome. ;) Yeah, this is a big challenge, but if we prayerfully take it a day at a time, according to Sean's Google calendar (http://www.seannebblett.com/p/acts-memorization-schedule.html), we'll memorize the whole book of Revelation by September. If some young people were able to memorize Acts last year, by God's grace, we can memorize Revelation this year. :)
@Matt: Scroll to the top of the page and click on the "Scripture Memory" tab. Then click on "preferences". The second preference you will see should be your "preferred translation" for memorization. Set this choice box to the translation you'd like to memorize in, then click the check box underneath that says "Auto-convert my verses this translation!" I believe that will fix your problem and allow your verses to coincide with this group! :-)
Question: Is there a way to use a translation that is not available and still have it coincide with this group?
@mlowe: Actually,I think my problem was not the same as yours...but I'm glad the count came with the correct number. I didn't know that fact though! (about having to "Master it" before it will show on the "memorize" section)I was kind of confused, now it's all clear!
@Joel: Thanks. I've noticed that, but I was sure I tried everything (punctuation, space bar, etc.)
@Sara: Thanks!
My issue was actually on the "rating" on the "Leaderboard". After I had 8 verses mastered it came up yesterday with "0 Group verses current" and "0 Succesful attempts". But like I said, it seems it got fixed again today after I typed them on "Master it" again.
@mlowe: If you see below I wrote a message asking other people if they had my same problem. I don't know what happened that yesterday my statistics went down to "O verses memorized and 0 attempts" :( But it fixed itself again today after I re-typed them again today...I'm having problems sometimes with the words, like for example, I typed "Laodicea" correctly and for some reason I pushed enter and it would not go through! I had to close the page. I think actually that after that is when the statistics got all messed up. Let's wait to see if anyone else have had this same problem, and we can get some help :)
@Olga, Sara, & Franklin: Thanks for the help guys! After I mastered the verses I'm working on I went back to the memorize it section and it gave me credit for typing using the "memorize it" help. You just have to master it first before reviewing using the memorize it tool! This will help me for sure to seal the verses in my mind! :-) God bless!
@Olga I think the reason why it wouldn't complete is because you hadn't completed the punctuation after Laodicea--the . and ". Even though you have the punctuation setting turned off, you still have to type something (a space or a period or something) as a placemarker for the punctuation for it to record the verse as completed.
@mlowe and Olga, I had this same type of problem with my Acts verses a couple days ago. I typed some new ones in memorize mode, and the page said "looks like you've got this one memorized" when I finished typing the section. But down in the corner it said that the verse was not yet memorized and it didn't change my verse count. I left a comment on the Acts group page and you can go there to read Brett's reply. Apparently you now have to type a verse in master it before it will show up as memorized or reviewed.
"Let the more important passages of Scripture connected with the lesson be committed to memory, not as a task, but as a privilege. Though at first the memory be defective, it will gain strength by exercise, so that after a time you will delight thus to treasure up the words of truth. And the habit will prove a most valuable aid to spiritual growth." {CG 511.4}
@mlowe, in order for you to get credit, you have to go to the master the verse section. The memorize it option helps you get to that stage. When they say that you have memorized the verse, they're just giving you encouragement (not credit) to go to the master it section.
For the past few days when I use the "memorize it" option to help memorize a verse, I type successfully and get the message saying that I have the verse memorized and I was successful, but for some reason the site is no longer giving me credit (by saying "1 successful attempt"). Now I have to use the memorize it option before I can get any credit for the verses I'm typing correctly. I'm wondering if anyone else is having these problems.
@Sean, thanks so much. I just looked at it. I'm going to try follow the schedule for Revelation. :)
@Franklin, we learned a fair bit during last year's challenge to memorize the book of Acts... Tips, helpful hints and a memorization and review schedule that has been optimized for memorizing a book of this length can be found at the link above. :) ("For the Memorization Schedule and helpful hints, click here.")
Regarding studying Revelation as we memorize: I'm studying through "Daniel & Revelation Decoded" by Jeff Wehr. It's excellent! You can get it at this website: http://wehrpublishing.com/productsp.php
Hello everyone. I think I'm going to take this challenge. What are you strategies to actually be successful with this challenge?
@Araya, if you have the app you can add additional verses to a collection. Select your collection on the app, and then select "New Verse". Enter in the details and click "Save". It will add the verse/s to that collection, and it works with all collections. I do this when a section of verses is too long for me. I add the verses in smaller sections, and learn them. Once I know it well I do it as the bigger selection and then delete the smaller verse/s selections that I created. You must delete the smaller verses otherwise you will accululate way more than the 404 verses that Revelation has. I hope that makes sense. You can't do this on the website, it only works on the app.
On the website you could do it outside the Revelation group on the Home page by just entering the verses in the sizes you prefer and adding them. They would just end up in your memory verses collection, unless you create a collection for them. Once you have learned all the verses for your Revelation selection you delete the ones in your memory verse collection and learn it in the Revelation group. You will not be able to maintain your sucessful attempts but since our goal is to learn the verses, it it not so significant.
That is the work around I use for the more lengthy selections. Also do be assured as time goes on it is easier and easier to memorise longer portions.
To the question regarding studying Revelation: I would really like to study Revelation while memorizing it, as much as time allows. As for resources, the Revelation class I took at ARISE was a huge help and blessing -- it was not so much about WHAT the interpretation is, but the PRINCIPLES OF HOW to interpret it. There are 5 basic and essential principles which are found throughout the book, and are important for Spirit-led interpretation: Repeat and Enlarge, Righteousness by Faith, Sanctuary Symbolism, Historicism, and The Cross. I would love to share with you more on this if you are interested. Also, I learned that since "Conflict of the Ages" is a commentary on the Bible, and "Acts of the Apostles" ends with an introduction to Revelation, "Great Controversy" is actually a commentary on the book of Revelation. I highly recommend reading it all the way through as you study!
@Araya There are some shorter ones later on, but you can break them up yourself into friendlier chunks by creating your own verse collections. I can help too. :) It gets easier once you get in the flow, so you might only need to do that for the first couple chapters. Oh! and I just realized that chapter 2 is the longest chapter in the whole book, so once we've got that one under our belt all the rest are going to seem so easy. :)
@anyonelookingforbooksonRevelation Another one you might check out is Deeper by Eugene Prewitt. Excellent simple explanations of Revelation and Daniel prophecies.
https://www.steps.org.au/Shop/General-Religion-Doctrine/deeper-investigating-the-integrity-of-our-prophetic-foundations.html
Why is that suddenly my charts says: "0 Group verses current and 0 Successful attempts" when I had already 8 verses memorized? :( Have this happened to anyone else?
@Sara K.: my guess is that it was one of the people on here that have their name space blank...
Is there a possibility to get smaller/shorter verse sections? Or do they get smaller later on? I'm having a little bit of a hard time with the longer 4 verse sections.
Has anyone on here recently added me as a friend? I got a friendship request yesterday, but there was no name; it just said " has requested to be your friend on Scripture Typer". I have no idea who that is or if I should accept or decline. :)
@tortuguita: There is a way that you can add verses to a collection using the app. Select your collection on the app, and then select "New Verse". Enter in the details and click "Save". It will add the verse/s to that collection, and it works with all collections. Unfortunately, as far as I know, on the website, there is no way to add verses to a collection that you have added from a group.
@Tortugita: No problem! Hope you can get everything worked out! God bless! :D
@mlowe: Thank you for checking. I'll just adjust the number of verses in my existing sections to make up for the loss. Blessings!
@Tortugita: To my knowledge there is not another way to add the verses back to your collection without adding the entire collection again. I snooped around and didn't see any other ways to add a few verses back to a collection. :-(
So I accidently deleted the first seven verses of Revelation 21. :( Is there a way to add them back? I would prefer not to have to delete the entire collection and add it again.
@Sean: I was confused!!!NOW I got it! I don't know why it changed!! I didn't change it!Aaahhhhh. I'm confused now!haha. I don't know what version should I do!!
@Sean: No, I didn't intend to change. I just started listening to KJV because I thought that was the version that the group had. I'll follow suit :) (Though actually I was starting to enjoy KJV! :D ).
@tortuguita: Thank you so much! I tried it, and I'm so excited!!!It's such a beautiful narration!!!Thanks for your advice. Actually yesterday I noticed, as I was typing that I could remember so well KJV. When I first got a Bible in English I got NIV just because it was easier for me to understand at that time. But by now, that I've been reading SOP in English, I think KJV or NKJV is perfect for me!
Olga, try out bible.christianpost.com. I think you can listen to the NKJV online there, though you will have to pay if you want to download anything. You can always switch to memorizing the KJV of course, but if English is your second language I recommend the NKVJ, it will be easier to understand. Happy Memorizing!
Mmmm... I don't know of such a website, though I'm sure one exists! Did you intend to switch to NKJV, because the translation selector (when you import) has KJV as an option...
I just realized that I've been listening to KJV and the version that came up here is NKJV. I would switch to NKJV with no problem, but listening really helps me. Does someone knows another website or resources where I can listen to the NKJV?
A month ago I came across this after praying for a while about what should I study for this New Year: "We are to comprehend the deep things of God. Angels desire to look into the truths that are revealed to the people who with contrite hearts are searching the word of God, and praying for greater lengths and breadths and depths and heights of the knowledge which He alone can give. {COL 133.1}
As we near the close of this world’s history, the prophecies relating to the last days especially demand our study. The last book of the New Testament scriptures is full of truth that we need to understand. Satan has blinded the minds of many, so that they have been glad of any excuse for not making the Revelation their study. But Christ through His servant John has here declared what shall be in the last days, and He says, “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein.” Revelation 1:3. {COL 133.2}. Then, I know about this "Revelation challenge"....definitely, not a coincidence...
@mlowe: Why, some fine friend memorizing Revelation, same as we are. I suppose you could ask them directly if you'd like.
This is my first time in a memorizing "marathon" of this kind and in my second language so I'm kind of excited! This week I started listening Chapter 1 on biblegateway.com and last night as I was listening I started writing the first verses down. I think is a good head-start!Blessings!
@ Emily, there is a schedule on Sean's website.

Also, is there a memorization schedule somewhere to know what to do each day like there was last year for Acts?
I'm new to this... It looks like Revelation is broken into bunches of more than 1-2 verses/day. With only 404 verses, I'd rather stretch it over a year. Is there a way to break it into smaller chunks?
They are all the same, except for the first three chapters. Those bites were a bit too big. :)
Seán are the verse collections here for Revelation the same as the ones on The Last Days group?
FYI there's a new translation selector on the flyout where you select your collections. You can also now type sequential verses as one long passage for review. Just click on any collection with sequential verses and look for the "Review All Verses Combined Together" link at the bottom of the pop-up. Please note, the link only appears after you've memorized the first two sequential verses in a collection. Happy Memorizing!
