My son and I are memorizing the sermon (mat 5-7). I am 63 but so far so good, almost done with mat 6. I have to say, I think this is a very significant thing for spiritual growth, as I already have been blessed in many ways.
📰Latest News: July 6, 2021. Season 2, Part 3. ACTIVE GROUPS CONTINUE TO RISE!!! In the last three years a new type of group has come. An active one. Finally after almost a decade of dominance Silent Echoes along with other inactive groups start to slide. This sudden change is happening by the active members themselves memorizing many verses to get up to the top. Soon they may dominate, but Silent Echoes has almost 10,000 between them and the next group. It would take almost a year for any group to even come close to that! So how are the active groups going to do it? By banning together. They can get thousands of verses as a team with this stratagy. Encouraging one another until the time comes that they will take over. It may take a year or even two, but the groups slowly incline to the point of no return. Stay in tune for more news!-Narrow Way Punlishing📰(Sponsored by Agape Force)
Hey y’all hope all is well! Do you guys have any tips to memorize fast? That would be of great help. God bless! 😃😁😃

According to Pslams 38:7 which says, "For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh." Murder is ok to do.
when you are justified he no longer sees your sin, he sees his Son instead.
Justificaton does not change the act or the sin. it is what it is. what changes is how it is viewed or seen in God’s eyes. When, by faith, you believe and accept what Jesus did for you on the cross you become”hidden in Christ” or you “put on Christ” God sees his son and you are “justified.” from death. Here’s a good story to illustrate: A school principal saw a student beating up another student. in his anger he rushed forward, grabbed the kid on top who was assaulting the kid below and said to him, “You’re in big trouble now! Then the kid said, “But look at his pockets! He has a gun and was about to go on a shooting rampage. immediately the principal’s anger subsided and not only let the kid go but commended him. The only thing that changed was how the act was “justified”. Since we, by fait, have died with Christ, the penalty of sin has been paid and justified us. since we died with him, and have been justified, God will raise us from the dead as well.

NOOOOOO SKYLER WHY ARE YOU IN EVER LAST GROUP
Hi. I’ve had a traumatic couple of years and as part of my recovery I decided it would be helpful to memorise the verses God has used to speak to me. I’m finding such strength and comfort from ingesting His word. now I’m ready to add more and what a great place to start than with these teachings of Jesus. May God bless us as we learn from Him through this tool.
My process is just time and repetition. try to spend 20 minutes a day. I wish I could do the 10 times reading then 10 times from memory pattern. I end up doing like 5 times then 3 times. I try to do individual verses and then group into larger portions. I’ve just started memorizing this year and I am up to 500 verses. Scripture songs are a great help although I have not found any for the sermon on the mount.
WTG, Steve! Yes, having the sword of the Spirit ready at all times, taking in Jesus' thoughts, has proven to be a tremendous blessing for me as well. Just curious: what's your drilling process?
Woo hoo. made it through memorizing the Sermon on the mount! what a blessing. now to concrete it in so I can get 100% for straight thru! God’s Word is so great.
started a group “Old in the New” for those looking to memorize common and significant OT passages quoted OT alluded to in the NT. You are invited to join if this would be of interest.

I did a word search in my Bible on fasting and fasting actually goes back way before the Catholic church into the Old Testament. There were different kinds of fast. I encourage you to check them out!
how do you go to someone's profile?
Fasting, I believe, helps us give up things and focus more on God. We can fast from things like Facebook, Social Media in general, food, etc. There are different ways to fast. I'm currently doing a Facebook fast, and I find myself studying the word more instead of checking notifications.
I would like some ppl's opinions, is Matthew 6 telling us that we should fast?
please join my group called screaming potatoes! invite others please

hi I am new at this and may I join the group
For every group that I am a member of, my verse count is wrong. Yet, it seems that other people's verse counts are correct, because some members are getting credit for every possible verse they can memorize in the group.
Specifically:
The Romans Project
It says 34 verses current, it should be 122
Memorize the Mount
It says 7 verses current, it should be 50
Isaiah: Eight Chapters
It says 12 verses current, it should be 58
Psalm 119 Word Lovers
It says 0 verses current, it should be 12
Jesus Project
It says 4 verses current, it should be 14
Psalm 51: Create in Me a Clean Heart, O God
It says 0 verses current, it should be 2
As silly as it may be, I use my ranking in groups and my overall ranking as a motivator. So this is de-motivating! And it make me wonder if my overall ranking is accurate as well.
Is this something that Scripture Typer can fix?
http://mikebickle.org/resources/series/sermon-on-the-mount
This is one of the clearest messages I have heard on the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle. Please share if you have any other resources!
Thank God! I have all verses memorized!! This is a great tool! I love my accountability partner!! Of course, I have a LOT of review ahead to keep them memorized!!! I love this tool!!
Just finished chapter 6! One more chapter!
I just wanted to say that I still do not have verses 1 and 2 in chapter 5 in the KJV. So, when I am finished with my verses I only have 109 instead of 111 in the KJV. Another question I have this morning is that I couldn't find the place to review the verses all connected together. It didn't seem to be there for any of the Sermon on the Mount versions. I had to review the verses in their sections. Can that be put back?
Yes, I agree with Rochelle. I would really appreciate it if you could add verses 28-29 to chapter 7 of the NKJV. I finished the Sermon on the Mount (and am current on all verses), but I noticed that I only have 109 verses, while many have 111. Though I can manually add those verses to my regular verse list, I cannot add them to the group. Should I try another version just to get those verses? Rachel K (Mom2Five)
For the NKJV can you add verses 28 and 29 to Chapter 7. For some reason they are not there and when I try to add them, the sermon on the mount collection is not in my list! THANK YOU!!!
I did add them, but it only added them to my regular list of verses, not to the Memorize the Mount group. So, although I am up-to-date with the NIV and the KJV, it shows only 220 verses, not the 222 that I should have. :)
Brett, I have a small problem. BTW, I love reviewing the whole passage at one time. THANKS!!!! My little problem is with KJV, for some reason, verses one and two are not there for me to review. They disappeared and I don't know how to get them back. If I add them again, will they get over to the Memorize the Mount group? I'll try it.
Hi KimJ! To add a friend, just click the little Plus sign on the bottom right of the profile picture.
FYI there's a new translation selector on the flyout where you select your collections. You can also now type sequential verses as one long passage for review. Just click on any collection with sequential verses and look for the "Review All Verses Combined Together" link at the bottom of the pop-up. Please note, the link only appears after you've memorized the first two sequential verses in a collection. Happy Memorizing!
I'm new here. Just wondering how you add friends?
Is my problem with PrayerBear because she hasn't added me as a friend? I've put in quite a few requests.
right, Judi, that is a good explanation of the problem. It seems to stay the same on each passage, and affects mainly longer passages.
Brett, I don't think that it has anything to do with Chrome or Safari or whatever, because it happens to me too, and I'm just using my home computer and monitor like I always have. I don't have any of those fancy gadgets. It happens when you get to the end of a line and then the words don't transfer to the next line properly and the whole line stays off. Every once-in-a-while, after being off for four or five or more lines, it will suddenly right itself again, and I think that is due to whether there were words left at the end of a line or not. Like, whether the word at the end of a line was a blank one or a given one. I'll try to figure out what's happening as I type today.
Just now saw your messages about the scrolling problems. I'll take a look when I get to the office today.
I still can't leave a message for PrayerBear. Has anyone else tried?
Brett, I have had the same problem. I just haven't taken the time to always tell you. It seems to have gotten worse after the scrolling up happened. Sometimes at the end of a line it fixes itself, so that the next line is alright again, but often it doesn't. I just keep going in spite of it. Usually it is behind my work, so I can still see what's ahead, but at least once it got ahead of my work and covered up the other words, and that time it was hard to see. Would it help if we sent you specific verses? I know that you fixed that for me once.
Brett, I have the same problem Vessie has, using Safari... it seems worst for me on long passages, I just did Isaiah 40 and it was off track for a huge chunk of it. I work in spite of it but do wonder if there is a way to tweak it. I use ESV and notice it does not like to use the spaces between all the words... rather crazy!
Thank you though for this site. It is my absolute favorite website. :)
Hi Brett, I am having trouble in both IE and Chrome.. when I am typing the verse in and the green letters come up, they aren't lining up with the black letters so I can't really see where I am at. Is there any way of fixing this. It makes it really hard to know what part you are doing. Not that speed matters. Help!!! vessie..
Brett, I want to write to PrayerBear. She left a message for me, but when I go to her profile, I don't see any way to leave a message for her. It is just plain, not like the others, with a place for prayer requests, or to leave a message. Can you help me? I tried to make her (him?) a friend, but that still didn't give me a way to message.
Brett, I want to say thank you for having the scriptures scroll up while we're typing. A lot of my verses say, "Fastest time yet" so now I'll have new records to break! :)
Well, I'm very late starting...started in late July...but I'm truly amazed at how quickly I'm memorizing! I've memorized many passages over the years, especially with my children (AWANA, etc.), but always find that I lose it quickly. I think the added motion of typing it is what is helping so much! Thanks Ann for mentioning this website and this group. Thanks Brett and all for creating this wonderful tool and constantly improving it. I am looking forward to being able to group my memorized verses for review. I think the difficult part of the review by small bunches is that we don't have to type the verse number as we memorize, therefore I tend to not associate the verse number and the verse very well. Then when I go to review I all the sudden have to know what verse 24 or 40 is. I've just been doing verbal review in groups of scripture with my family members checking me and it seems to be helpful. The one thing I really like about the typing is that I get the punctuation correct as well. It makes me think of the passing down of scripture through the centuries and how every jot and dittle was carefully kept accurate. I'm excited to be a part of this. Next, I'm going to challenge my older children to start as well so we can dwell on the same verses together. How exciting is that!? Thanks again. Blessings to you all who are ahead....I'm coming along.
I like the way the text scrolls too. I think I might be missing something though, is there now a way to link several verses together and practise them at once? For instance the whole of chapter 5 or as far as one had memorised? Thanks for all your hard work and time and effort. Kind regards.
Yay! for the way the text scrolls now! It will make practicing long sections so much smoother! Thank you for all your work on this site. :)
Thank you so much. I appreciate all the work that has gone into this site. This is a great tool.
We've just added the Bible Memory Group feature to the website so that anyone can create their own group. You'll find it on the Scripture Memory menu to the far right under "Memorize Together." I want to thank all of you from Ann's network for helping us test the new groups out with such a massive number of people :) Bless you all! -Brett
That is, I realize how to make a prayer group now after much clicking but is there a way to make a group like this with a memory verse tab for verse importing?
I am working on 1 Corinthians 13 with family and I would like to make a group similar to this.
Am I missing a tab somewhere that would allow me to add this in? All I see for options are prayer requests, announcements and message wall (using google chrome).
And then once I'm done, I spose I have some catching up to do with you all. :)
Is it possible to create our own groups with Scripture typer?
I've also had trouble with Google Chrome randomly deciding it doesn't want to load websites. It even freezes when loading Google.com sometimes. I've yet to find an answer to this mystery.
Brett, I have been having trouble getting scipture typer to load. I had it set as my home page and it just shows it as constantly working. Today I typed it in on a new tab and it comes up okay. I am on Google Chrome. Any thoughts??? Help!! vessie
You can add prayer requests from the Prayer Requests tab. It will post the request to this group, and optionally post it to your profile as well. Be sure to register when you pray for others by clicking the "I Prayed" button.
You are welcome! Thanks for visiting my profile and leaving me a message!
RansomedOne, you can click on a person's name where it is red, and it will take you to their profile page. There you can leave them a message of encouragement or read their prayer requests, if they have written any. I can't figure out how to post prayer requests. I just message my prayer requests to people who have prayed for me on their message wall if I have a particular request.
I've been working on other passages and just reviewing the Sermon on the Mount once or twice a week so I was very encouraged to come over here and see how many of you have finished! I'm so excited about this site. Memorizing God's word is transforming my mind! I wish I had disciplined myself to do it more earlier!
I feel a little silly asking, but how do we find our friends? I see how to send someone a friend request but nothing else... I have probably looked at it dozens of times... thank you!
An e-mail will go out to the person when you post an encouragement for them. Also, there's a link at the top of the member list on the left that says "Show My Profile" which is a quick way to access your own profile.
Hi, joyfulmomofmany! The NASB version has been added for your convenience and memorizing pleasure. Be blessed!
Brett, that is wonderful. I love that we can record the audio. I find saying the verses out loud helps me immensely. I can do that on my computer in one program for kids.. but unfortunately when it plays back you sound like Alvin and the chipmunks. LOL!! You are doing a awesome job and I want you to know how much I appreciate you for it! Blessings, Vessie
I don't have an iPhone, so I'm waiting for the website. Thank you, Brett! Just wanted to say that some people might not know to click on their name and find their profile page. I've left messages to encourage people, but I don't think that they ever read them. Do those messages always go to people's e-mail?
The v1.1
iPhone App update was just approved! It allows you to stitch your verses together and type the whole collection at once. I'm still working on this for the website. Also, with the app, you can now record audio for your verses and play them back individually or by collection. Try speaking along with your verses while playing them back. It's a great way to review and become fluent with a passage!
Any possibility of adding NASB version? For many years I have read and memorized in that version and I'd really like to stick with that. Please? Thanks for your consideration and for a fabulous app/web site!
Thank you, Brett! I can get into my profile again!
Sorry about the cryptic server errors. Profiles & selecting verse collections should be working again.
These are good thoughts and I'd be up for discussion in a forum of some type. I''ll add my thoughts later today, but for now... Time to work on my verses!
Wondering if anyone else is having this trouble? When I try to go onto my profile or anyone else's profile, I get an error message....a whole pageful of data. I'm not trying to ignore any messages....I can't get there to read them.
Love that we are not only memorizing Jesus' words, but trying to live them out! Our righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees because of God's grace imparting Christ's righteousness to us. I long to lead a life worthy of that! I agree that this will be counter to the way of the world, and sadly, different from much of the church.
Vessie, we knew what you meant! :)
I need to make a correction, in my typing haste, I goofed. I meant to say I can "now" not "not" pray for my step father with pure motives. That one little word totally changed what I was trying to say. Fear not Seth, I try to live these words daily and fail miserably. I think Judi put it very well. I am going to copy and paste that one on my mirror as a reminder. I like the thought of completeness because we are to have our identity in Christ. And yes, we are called to live in a counter- cultural way. Let's face it, God's kingdom is the complete opposite of what the world asks or expects of us. Even in Christian circles the words of Christ can go over like a lead balloon. Example... two years ago I was separated from my husband. It was not my choice and I believed in my heart that God was in control and that he would redeem the situation. I was living with family, all Christians, and they did nothing but try to convince me that my husband was not worth my time. They were adamant and very judgemental. God was saying something else. I felt literally assaulted by Christians who were telling me the exact opposite of what God was speaking to my heart. Except for one cousin, I had no support. And they were all Christians. Somehow the worlds standards for marriage and divorce have replaced what Jesus said. And it seems to be acceptable. We as Christians, not everyone, seems to justify what is cultural and make it fit into what we think Christianity should look like. By the way, my husband and I have been back together for more than a year, and we have no family support, but I believe we doing what Jesus commands. The cousin who said without reservation that God hates divorce, is in the same boat as I am. She is regarded as a fanatic. Stepping off my soap box now!! :o) vessie
Sorry, me again!! :o) As I was writing, I felt like a Yahoo group might be a better idea. It would be more private. Let's face it. We all have lots of baggage that we might feel better discussing in a private forum. I believe this one is public isn't it. Just asking. I know personally there are some things I am struggling with that I wouldn't feel comfortable discussing except in a closed forum. I am willing to open up a Yahoo group if anyone want. It takes about two minutes and then the people who want to dig into these verses could do that there. Any thoughts would be welcome. vessie
In the Scripture Typer, I have my mount chapters broken down into two large parts for each one. I think Chapter 7 might be three. I find that once I know the individual verses it's easier to keep them in order in my head. Can't wait until we have that feature in group. That will be awesome, Brett. God bless you guys for doing this for all of us. :o) vessie
Hi Seth, Personally I think that God was giving us a standard to attain to eventhough we are well aware that (a) we can never be perfect until we get to heaven, and (b) that it is impossible to achieve the smallest degree of what Jesus asked of us without the holy spirit living in us and accomplishing it himself. That doesn't let us off the hook though. I think that our heart has to be in a place where God can work through it and that living the words of Jesus is truly what we want. I find now that I am letting the words sink in and "chewing " on them, I feel very convicted in a lot of ways. It seems that it has been very easy to slide into a cultural way of living which makes the words of Jesus a little easier to swallow. I don't think he intended for us to do that.
I am looking at the writing of Steven Scott, The Greatest Words ever spoken. All the words of Christ are divided into categories so you can see exactly what Jesus said on various topics like forgiveness. There are more than 1900 red letter verses. I can just imagine how the world would be if we all tried to actually live them.
In the matter of love your enemies, I think there are different ways to look at the way we love someone. Example, my step father abused us for years. According to Jesus, not only do I have to forgive him, I have to love him, pray for him, and in other verses bless him. Oh that was a hard thing to swallow. And if I didn't, or couldn't, God could not forgive me. Oh that hurt me so much. But God achieved that through me and not over night either. I believe I can not pray for my step father with pure motives. I don't have a relationship with him but I can pray that he finds Jesus and that God will bless him. I promise you, it wasn't by my own strength but through God's. There isn't one thing God asks of us that he will not give us the strength, ability and means to do it. Because Jesus is speaking from God's heart, I think the sermon on the mount gives us an incredible picture of our heavenly Father. don't you? I am struggling as well. There are a lot of hard passages in the mount. I guess that's why we need to pray for each other as well. vessie
We could always open a Yahoo group for anyone who really wants to discuss what we are learning and what we are feeling. Here is fine too. I have been keeping a journal. I will add more on the morning. Just saw this as I was on my way to shutting everything off for the night!! Have a great night everyone. Great idea, Seth!
Well, let's try this out and see if I get any response. :)
Here's my deal, I feel like it would have been easier if Jesus would have said, "Love your neighbor, but if you mess up, there's grace for that." But he didn't. We went REALLY far when he said, "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Then he follows it up with "be perfect, as your heavenly father is perfect." This is a very very difficult teaching if you face it square on.
So what is Jesus saying here? Is he putting us all on the same playing field? Is he saying "you think you're righteous but your righteousness is as worthless as the Gentiles?"
Thoughts? Opinions? Interpretations?
Hi Judi, I am still working on the new feature that will 'stitch' all of the verses in a collection together so you can memorize them at once. This will be available both on the iPhone and on the website shortly. It only combines the verses that you've memorized already. Also, if you complete it successfully, it will mark all of the verses as 'reviewed' so that you don't have to review them individually. I'll post a note when it's available.
Hi Seth, feel free to use this as a forum for discussion. You can all use the message wall however you like! It's a little limited since there are no direct replies, but you can just included the name of the person you're responding to in your post.
I wish there were a forum for us to discuss the passages we're memorizing. Has anyone been blogging about this or would there be a way to open up some kind of forum?
Here's the thing, I'm wrestling with Chapter 5 pretty hard. The things Jesus says in regard to being perfect as the Father is perfect... well, that's just a hard teaching. I'd love some to hash out what Jesus is and isn't saying in this passage.
By scrolling down and reading past messages, I see that Brett is working on a feature that will allow us to review whole passages at once. Thank you, Brett! Have a beautiful day in the Lord, everyone!
I agree with RansomedOne that it makes an easier review to do more verses together, but it sure makes it easier to do the memorizing with just a couple verses at a time. Would there be a way, once people finish a chapter, to have another review plan? A whole chapter might be a bit long to type at one sitting, but at least 1/2 a chapter at a time?
I am just wondering if we need to keep the verses broken down as they are here... if we just put, say, all of Matthew 5 on as one passage? It seems like that might be an easier way to review than all the separate passages. Thanks! I am benefiting from this format. :)
Way to go, Judi!! I followed your example and started the same thing with the NIV 1984. I would have used the New Century Version (that is what I usually read) but it isn`t available yet!! I like to see the differences as well and like you, I`ve learned stuff from different versions over the years. Thanks for the blessing and encouragement that you`ve been to me. Enjoy your supper!! Home blessing also blesses our Father!! :o) vessie
What a wonderful way to focus on learning the verses from the Sermon on the Mount! I look forward to this exercise on a daily basis; and for being transformed by the Living Word... Blessings to all who are partaking of this holy food!
I know that some of you might wonder how I am getting more than 111 verses from the Sermon on the Mount? It's because I've been memorizing it in two versions. And I might add a third one, King James, as well, since that's the only version we had when I was a child, and I probably know more of it than I realize. it is interesting to see the differences. I really admire all of you! Thanks for the inspiration that you've been to others! Today I memorized that our Heavenly Father already knows what we need and he will feed us/clothe us/care for us. We don't need to run after those things! But I do need to get away from the computer and do laundry and cook meals with what God has provided for me and my family....be a good steward! Love you all!!
Thank you for your prayers, Janet!! We really appreciate them. Blessings, vessie
Yes, I agree! Lord let YOur healing touch be upon Carol. Show Your great power. Above all else, may they sense Your comforting hand upon them. Allow them to walk through all of the emotions, that You also felt when You were here on the earth and find their safe place in You.
I would like to ask you all to pray for my friend Carol and her husband Dave. We just found out this morning that Carol has a brain tumour and they have given her two months to live. I know that God is bigger than that tumour, and that he can heal Carol with just one touch. But I need people to agree with me in prayer and I am asking you to do that. Also pray that God would cover them with his amazing blanket of grace so they might feel only his peace and not all the other emotions that I am sure must be running rampant. Thanks in advance. Blessings on each of you today, vessie
Thank you!! I appreciate that!
Hi, Judi, we have added the NIV 1984 edition to Memorize the Mount, per your request. Happy Memorizing!
I was wishing that I could memorize in NIV 1984 edition, because that's the Bible that I carry to church. It is now possible, generally, to get that edition on Scripture Typer, but not in the Memorize the Mount group. Can anyone help me?
Just want to wish each of you a Blessed Good Friday! I am finding going over the words of the Sermon on the Mount make today's sacrifice that much more real. Jesus laid his life down because of the sin I placed on him. Thank you, Jesus!!
Sure, Janet! Some days I feel that it is too much, not so much to memorize, but I have trouble inverting numbers and can't seem to remember which verses belong to which numbers. It can be very frustrating. I don't think it really matters if we are on the right week or the right verse. It just matters that we are working on it, one small step at a time. Blessings, vessie
My daughter Nicole, who is 16, and I are memorizing together. We started later, so are a bit behind, but its such a blessing. Yesterday, Nicole said she didn't think she could do the whole things, just feeling like its impossible. I tried to encourage her that she can, but would you please pray that she won't give up? Thanks,
Janet
Yes, Mary, I am finding that particular passage really convicts me as well. It is so easy to get angry. Also the passages on forgiveness are difficult especially when Jesus says we must go to be reconciled to our brother, when we are the victim. Thanks for sharing~
I wonder what God is speaking to any of you through these words we are learning? I am convicted by 5:22, Jesus' warning against anger, insult or harsh words.
I just want to encourage everyone who is finding it hard to find time to review the work they have already accomplished. Keep at it. Bury God's word deep in your heart where it will grow and blossom into something more beautiful than we can even imagine!! Keep climbing!! :o) vessie
I am on family leave and caring for my mother who is in hospice care. Memorizing the Sermon and being part of the group has been such a blessing. The iPhone app has allowed me to work at my mother's bedside. I am taking my time. I like it when review verses come up in random order so that I learn verses individually and not only in context. Brett, your support is priceless. I'm spreading the news about your support of the Good News. Thanks, Norine
My memory has not been so sharp in recent years, but memorizing God's Word has augmented and heightened all my sensory perception. Thinking His thoughts along with Him has healed my mind to be in tune with Him. Now I have all of Colossians (from last year) and now the Mount. Fabulous. And retaining it! My memory is better over all. LOVE this site - typing emphasizes it all the more. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thanks, Brett! I have returned!! Blessings to you as well, vessie
Hi Vessie,
Sorry for the confusing statistics. I've been trying to optimize the group today, it's been really slow, and in the process I've broken the statistics calculations. Should have it fixed shortly.
Blessings,
Brett
Brett, I can't seem to find myself in the group anymore! Not sure what happened. Could you check for me please? Thanks~
Hi, Peggy! Your statistics are calculated several ways. First, Group Verses Current is the number of verses you have not only memorized in the group but also have "current", meaning they are not overdue for review. To check your review schedule, go to the Scripture Memory button on the navigation bar above, then Review Memorized Verses. This will show you which verses you have memorized and how many days until they need to be reviewed again. Every time a verse is successfully reviewed, a day is added to the review cycle. So the more times you review a verse, the less you need to review it in the future. The iPhone app will automatically show you how many verses you need to review each day. You can also sign up for e-mail review notifications in your account settings.
The Successful Attempts statistic tells you haw many times you have successfully reviewed a verse in the group, meaning you have typed it in the "Memorize It" or "Master It" mode with 90% accuracy.
Finally, your Average Typing Speed is only calculated in "Type It" mode.
Please let us know if you have any other questions! We are excited about having you in the group!
I am just getting started with Matthew 5:1-2, and I am very excited. Although my memory is terrible these days for remembering most things, the Lord has allowed me to have a pretty good capacity for memorizing verses. Hopefully, by working on it in this structured way, I'll also be able to retain it! I am trying not to think of catching up to the group (which is what my flesh really wants to do!), but instead to focus on the Scripture and what the Lord has for me to learn. God bless everyone in this journey!
I am so thankful for all of you. That we can all be joining together to memorize scripture. How will this change our days, months and years... I know God is transforming us daily as we hide His words in our hearts. Thank you for the chance to spend this time with all of you.
How are my statistics calculated?
Dawn, I had been thinking the same thing as you, about a longer group of verses. Thanks for asking and Brett, thanks for going the extra mile to make this work for us.
I can't believe I have actually memorized Matthew 5. Now I'm going to take some time to really enjoy it before I move on. Praying for you all!!
Hi Val! Google Chrome used to be my favorite browser, but then I started having problems with it freezing up, etc. on numerous different sites, so I don't use it anymore. Firefox has been a lot more reliable and easier to use. My husband is a programmer, and he recommends Firefox. Happy memorizing!

What browser is everyone using? I'm noticing that this website really seems to slow things down for me in Google Chrome. And I'm really excited about this place, so I'm hoping that I can make it all work out!
Hi Dawn,
I'm working on a feature that will knit your verses together into a single passage that you can type all at once. Successfully typing it from memory will mark all of the verses as reviewed. This same feature will be included in the next iPhone app update. I know this is an essential feature for this group, so I'm trying to get it up ASAP.
Blessings! -Brett
Question: Is there a way to review or test myself on the whole sermon at once, rather than going to one verse at a time? I realize I'm a long way off from needing this answer! :) Thanks Ann and Scripture Typer for this wonderful and blessed project!
Excited about using this tool to hide more of His word in my heart! :) Thanks Ann, for setting this up for all of us.
I'm thrilled to be doing this. I've wanted to memorize scripture but couldn't make it a priority. This group and this tool are excellent. Thanks for the prayers and I'll be praying for you all too.
I have no idea how big the "Mount" was but every day I look up at the Rockies. At this time of year they gleam on the horizon when they are fresh with snow; loooming like giants carrying the clouds on their backs. This morning I was giving thanks for their beauty. God is so big and nothing reminds me more of that then the mountains. I suddenly was overcome with a picture of us climbing together, as a group; reaching back to help those who are struggling. Pulling together to get to the top. Let's remember to pray for each other as we journey together. God bless you!
I am so excited!!! :) Love you all!
I haven't set out to memorize scripture in a long time. I'm just starting out too at verse 1. Thank you Ann and Scripturetyper for this tool! Looking forward to feeding on the Words of God through this!
Wow! Everyone is so far along! I am just starting at verse 1. I am not going to be intimidated! Hoping this tool helps me to hide God's word in my heart. I pray that! Thank you Ann and Scrituretyper!
Hi Vessie,
After you memorize your verses, you'll need to review them to keep them current. The more times you successfully memorize a verse, the less often you'll have to review it. To see which verses need review, click the
Review Memorized Verses link on the Scripture Memory menu at the top of the screen.
Did the person who posted on Saturday at 2:50 PM, having trouble getting their picture to upload and their verses to record, get help or figure the problem out. Please post if you didn't and I am sure we can talk you through it. Don't feel bad. Everyone is not computer literate and we all learn one step at a time. Blessings on you!
This is wonderful,I'm so excited!!
This is such a great opportunity to hide God's word in our hearts! Thank you for developing this wonderful way of learning scripture. Many need the kinesthetic aspect of learning. I am a dyslexia therapist and love a multi-sensory approach to learning!
This is such a blessing! So thankful for Ann leading me/us to this Scripture learning tool. Thanks also to all of you at scripturetyper.com for developing this resource and offering it to us. I am overwhelmed and thankful.
"...His disciples came to him." Here we are!
Your lives and your Christ-radiance is all are so very, very encouraging --- a humble grace to gather with you. And walking with you all, with Him? Is unspeakable, laying low honor. I'm thinking of a way to celebrate by year's end? When we all mount the Mount *Together*! Thank you for joining us, being part of the Body, knit together in Him. Let's not leave any of us behind! Praying with you all this morning, that this hiding His Word in our heart -- may be the beautiful transforming of our hearts... Press on friends -- deeper into Him!
Thank you so much for sharing! Once again God has used your seeking heart to warm mine!!
Goodness, I tried changing to the NIV and that was a failure so went back to the ESV that I started with at the beginning of the year. See what envy does. Ann sounded so wonderful and I wanted to sound just as wonderful. How silly of me! :o) So now I have gone back and re-posted my verses the way I initially learned them. Eventually I hope be able to get the punctuation right. It gets me every time. Little error blessings to keep me humble!
OOPS! Ann withOUT an "e".
^__^
I am so excited to start memorizing the Sermon on the Mount. Just picked up Dietrich Bonhoeffer's book, "The Cost of Discipleship", and he uses this passage as the basis for much of this book. I plan to add memorizing the sermon to reading the book and letting the truths work their way more deeply into me. Thanks to Anne for the encouragement and motivation and helps to do this.
Ann, I was just listening to your video on your blog. What version of Scripture are you using. I have to say listening brought me to tears. Hearing you linger over the words that Jesus spoke just moved my heart into that sacred place. Thank you, Vessie
Q&A #1
Thank you Ann for bringing your friends here to Scripture Typer for our first ever Bible Memory Group! It's so encouraging to see the smiling faces of all of you who have been memorizing the Word together! I'd like to answer a few questions about the group and community features. I'll do this regularly as they come in.
Question: I've already started memorizing before the group was created, can I save my progress?
Answer: Unfortunately not. We envision Scripture Typer memory groups being used in many settings, including Christian & home schools. For this reason, we decided it was important that the group leader maintain control of the verses being memorized by the group. This is also why you cannot edit the verses.
Question: What's the best way to find prayer requests people have on their profiles?
Answer: If a person has posted a prayer request, there will be a number on the bottom left corner of their profile picture. You can click on their picture to see these prayer requests.
Bug Report: Clicking "Next" to page through the member list isn't working properly. I should have this fixed by tomorrow. In the mean time, you can click "See all members" at the top of the leaderboard to see the full list.
Question: How do you find the group page in the
iPhone App?
Answer: The Bible memory group feature is actually newer than the iPhone app. However, your group collections will still sync to the app. You'll need to join the group from the website, choose the collection for the bible version you're memorizing, and it will automatically be synced to your Scripture Typer iPhone app. It will appear under My Verses with the rest of your collections.
I love this. The only thing I have trouble with is, I love to linger over the words, pause on phrases. I find I remember them better. Then the information comes up and says I should try to type faster. LOL!!!
I already have an account here as I followed the first link Ann posted about this fantastic site. Can what I have already memorised be added here or do i have to start over? So excited along with the rest of you about this. Thankyou ANN and thank you SCRIPTURE TYPER xox
I'm so embarrassed but I am so bad at these things. I can't get my picture to stay posted. And can't figure out how to log in the verses I've already memorized. I'm up to verse 22 but don't know how to register that. :-)
I am so excited about this. What a wonderful tool. I have been searching around, is there a way to view all the prayer requests people have rather than clicking on each person to see if they have prayer requests?
I think I figured it out:)
Are you automatically added to this group or do you "join it somehow?". Excited to have this part of my spiritual journey.
Thanks for this...I am excited...I started the semon n the mt. but did not stick with it...to be honest as I have gotten older it is harder for me to memorize... this will be so helpful. Also...I need to get my daugther's typing skills up...this will be much better than Mavis Beacon:)
So I am going to start again...even if it is at a snails pace:)
Thanks so much for sharing this resource. I had already started and did 1-20 all together. So, I will just start over. It actually makes you think more when you have to do just 2 verses at a time. I'm looking forward to this group memory work!
Thank you....this will be motivation to gather His words in my heart and call upon them during the day!
I am so excited to be here! I have been desiring to memorize scripture more for a while and I think this is just perfect!
Welcome!
Thy Word have I hid in my heart... that I might not sin against Thee....
That we might know You, serve You, worship You, love You, obey You, trust You, commune with You.
A humble grace to walk with Him with you, up the Mount...
All's grace,
Ann
