Hey I am new here! Where is your church located?
welcome Carol! so happy to have you join us
Good morning, I joined the Southland group yesterday.
I love what that number represents- hiding God's Word in your heart! and it NEVER comes back void!
Hey CKP, I finally hit 6 digits in points! 100000 exactly. 2020-05-21.
Amen. LORD I also pray for the Holy Spirit. For myself, my family, my friends, and the whole church. LORD we love you, need you, want you. Every hour of every day.
Father, I ask that you would pour your Holy Spirit on all of us. We turn to you, but recognize that even though we desire it, we lack the strength and power. so we humbly ask for you to empower us! to love you more! to be able to rise about our circumstances and show the world around us who you are! In Jesus name we pray, amen.
what better thing to do than evaluate your life and priorities? who is sitting on the throne of your heart? on my heart??
LOVE your question! I had to wrestle with the same one a few years back.
Hi Bible Memorizer, I would highly recommend watching P. Kris' message on the Sabbath. He covers why the Sabbath is different than the other 9 within the 10 Commandments. I would also recommend reading the below link. It will help you see the different types of laws, who they applied to, how to understand them in light of OT and NT without theological sloppiness.

but.....the Bible says in the Ten Commandments “remember” to keep the sabbath holy. six days shall you labor but the seventh day is the Sabbath. if we are to remember doesn’t that mean we are supposed to keep?
Sabbath switched over to Sunday early in Christian history. The Jews were already meeting in the Temple Sat & Sun, then when the Greeks started coming in, they gravitated to Sunday as their day for the temple, eventually they picked the day they were using to go to "church" as their official day of Sabbath. This wasn't corrected in the Church because the early Church didn't see it as a big deal. Reason being? as Jesus said in Mark 2:27 "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." The Sabbath is different than any other type of law. Because it isn't about sin and living righteously, it is one of the laws that actually shows us God's heart towards us. He doesn't just want us to serve, serve, serve, He actually wants us to rest and delight in Him as well. What a God we serve!
GREAT QUESTION!
I have a question. why do we keep Sunday as Sabbath. The Bible Says it’s Saturday. and it Never even mentions the Sunday as sabbath once or any transition.
that's great!! you are doing super!!
I just timed myself at 4 (well-known) vs per minute. At that rate the fastest I could do is 1800 vs in 7.5 hrs. That must have been one long day!
wow. I can't fathom reviewing 1000 verses in one day! I have reviewed 100 quite often. Although they're usually the same set of verses, because that seems to be what I need to do to be able to recall them from memory when I can't sleep at night.
also, way to go on your progress! so amazing that you have over 200 verses committed to memory! such an amazing axcomplishment!
DJ, love those verses you posted!! those are some of my favs also.
Those are all estimates, as I don't follow a plan. I just try and memorize daily. Sometimes miss a day. I've only done days where I reviewes over a 1000 verses in a day 5 times.
hey DJ! I've been on for 2 years. First year I mastered 1000 verses. The second year I mastered 300. But do that in spurts. As for review, also goes through spurts. But anywhere from 1 - 1800 reviewed. Min to max. 100 verses reviewed each day for average.
how many vs do you review or master each day to get pts into 6 digits?
Cotton Kitty Power: those are some of my favorite vs. I'll also check out Psalm 51.
Been back reviewing all my verses again these last two months. I hadn't reviewed a lot for quite a while. It's taken a couple of months to catch up. but I have Psalm 23 v1-6, Psalm 121 v1-8, Eph 6 v10-20, Prov 3 v1-12 and a number of single vs deeply committed to memory. Stats for 2019-11-06: Level 53. 51216 pts. 261 verses. Ranking 4505.
Rejoice in the Lord always, again i will say rejoice. Philippians 4:4 is one of my favourite verses
Home Life!! So exciting the direction we are headed in as a church.
If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. Psalm 119:92
This one has really been a fav of mine!
What's everyone's favorite verse?
Let's get the church verse memorized! Love doing this with others.
Just added the Church wide Memory Verse!! Woot
I am LOVING hiding God's Word in my heart. Have you ever considered what a blessing this is?? Who are we that He would entrust such a special gift? Maybe to a king... Or president... Even a prime minister... But regular people entrusted with God's Word?? Regular people having access to God?? WOW!!
I am thoroughly enjoying meditating on Psalm 51... What a prayer!!
Even if the drum stops beating, my soul will keep on singing, even louder!
Can you add Galatians 6:9?
Awesome, good idea! Which DJ is this?
hey Landon. verse suggestion: Kris mentioned Prov 3 a few weeks ago-you could add that chapter. (if you make more people admin in your group they can add verses too.)
