Is this group still active?
URGENT!! I seriously have to WARN YOU!! The KJV BIBLE has been CHANGED! (Look up the #MandelaEffect) The Lords Prayer in the KJV is not correct anymore in the KJV (how we remember "tresspasses" changed to "debts" and "those who tresspass against us" changed to "our debtors" and "ON earth" in Mt6,10 changed to "IN earth" - look it up!!!) and John8:32 has changed, as well as Isaiah11,6 changed from "Lion and Lamb will live together" to "Wolve(s) and lamb will live together"

Ms. Twilah, I am glad to be back in the group again. I pray that we may all encourage each other as we memorize the New Testament together. Thanks for your idea of how to memorize the verses. I have been working on the Gospel of John and am almost finish. It's an excellent study, and typing really helps to remember the Word of God. Looking forward for the fellowship and study of the Bible as a group. Thanks again. Have a blessed one, Ruth.
Hi Ruth, you have already finished 4 chapters in John! It sounds like you are right on target (actually a little ahead of schedule). That will help when holidays and other demands interrupt you during the rest of the year. You haven’t missed anything… just change 2012 and 2013 to 2019 and 2020.
Thank you for your interest in joining me in memorizing the whole New Testament in Seven Years!
The idea came to me after hosting the Bible Bee. The participants aged 7 to 10 memorized 250 verses in three months. That seemed to be a good personal goal for memorization. A little calculating revealed that if you did that every three months (1,000 verses a year, give or take). You could memorize the New Testament in 7 years.
The challenge requires memorizing 5 verses a day for 5 days a week.
REMEMBER: your schedule is your motivation, not your goal. You have finished 4 chapters in John, it sounds like you
This is my tentative schedule. (You may begin wherever you want and do the books in whatever order you want).
2012 Hebrews Romans Revelation (glimpses of past, present, future with God) This was an amazing combination!
2013 Ephesians 1,2 Thessalonians 1,2 Peter 1,2 Corinthians (Very challenging, focus on one book at a time)
2014 Galatians 1,2,3 John John (So fun! You’ll fall in love with John. Watch the movie St. John in Exile.
2015 Jude Colossians Acts
2016 Matthew
2017 James Titus Philemon 1,2 Timothy Philippians Mark
2018 Luke
I'm getting older, and life has a way of claiming my time. (I’ll definitely have to redo some portions of the past year)
But even if I don't make it in 7 years, or 10, or 20, it's well worth the journey to get so familiar with the writer's whole message, rather than just the nuggets. And who knows, perhaps more seekers will join us in the journey.
It is so encouraging to have someone tackling the challenge with me. It’s clear you’ll be ahead of me all the way, but I don’t mind. Paul told the Roman Christians he wanted to see them so that they might be ‘mutually encouraged by each other’s faith’. We, too, can be ‘mutually encouraged by each other’s determination’ when we share how our own efforts are going.
God bless you in your daily efforts.
Love,
Twilah
Hi Ruth, welcome to our little New Testament in 7 years group! I am working my way through Galatians right now and will begin John's small epistles after that, then spend the rest of the year on the gospel of John.
I'd be pleased to know what you are working on and whether you have any special thoughts on this endeavor. I am praying for you.
Rebekah, the 2014 verse collection has been added. Are you still working on memorizing the New Testament? I'm beginning with Galatians tomorrow.
Happy New Year!
No, I'm not in a rush. Thank you for working with me!
Rebekah, Is there a particular set of verses you'd like me to do first? I'd like to help you stick to your schedule if I can. Thanks.
Hi Rebekah,
Welcome to the group! Yes, actually, I had doubled up on purpose. I find that the biggest challenge for me is not to remember the wording of the verse, but to remember which verse comes next! So, I intentionally connected each group of verses to the previous one to help with that. I will leave them as is, but create a second collection without the doubling for your use. The new collection will have an R in the name. Hopefully, that won't cause issues with Scripture Typer software. It will take a few days to get it done, as I have limited time to work on it. God bless you in your memory efforts and may it glorify Him!
You have doubled up on quite a number of verses... was that on purpose? could you change that? Thanks.
