hi everyone pray you all are great
Could you guys get the Junior remaining passages posted soon???
Why is this group no longer active?
I got 64% on the test. Wow! that's good, Nora! what level was she in?
@Zachary how did you do on the test?
She got in at 27th place!
@Zachary I didn't take it but my sister did. I might do the Bible bee next year. It's just hard 'cause I also have to balance school, chores, family time, friends, and a bunch of other activities so it's difficult. We find out in a litter over an hour who gets in!
what does alternate me And?, anyway, goodbye
I feel like I might be an alternate, but maybe not. how about you?
I think I may need to leave this group, I have like 22 groups, and I don't even do bible bee, is that okay?
how did everyone do on the test?
Yeah, I have made it once. i am going to take the test today too! do you feel ready? i will not talk again until after the test.
@Zachary I'm taking the test Sunday afternoon, that way I can have more time to study but I still have an extra day to contact BBHQ in case anything goes wrong during the test. Are you trying to make Nationals this year? Have you been to Nationals before?
I also feel like I should just hurry up and get it over with. Is that how you feel?
Maybe. Maybe you will try to get to nationals next year. @June, that's how I feel. I feel like I could always learn more, so I am not going to take the test until either Sunday or Monday. How about you?
@Zachary; I did the summer study this year but I'm not going to Nationals. But my sister Abby is studying for nationals so she always feels like she's not ready enough! But, maybe if she gets in you'll meet her down in TX!
@Zachary I don't know. I feel like I'm ready, but I also feel that I could be even more ready than I am...
Maybe you can do it next year.
Yeah, but i'm not quite ready.
I know, will you join my group called Public Group
Thank you Zachary for your invitation. I don't think I'll join though. It just so happens that I'm actually a Senior in the Bible Bee.
Then could you join Thrive(Juniors)?
@Skler, thank you for your request, but I don't have plans to join!
@Sasha, there are 59 verses. There is a total amount of 14 passages. The 14 passages contain the 59 verses. I hope you understand! Please let me know if you want me to tell you what the 14 passages are.
@Abigail, Do you mean 59 verses or 59 passages?
yeh Abigail, could you join group dogs for Jesus
Sasha, I Willa d verses if you want me to on group dogs for Jesus
@Sasha, if you are a Bible Bee participant, then I encourage you to join the National Bible Bee Participant Community on Google+. There are many people on there that would love to answer any more questions you may have. I would still love to answer any other questions you have though to the best of my ability!
Hi Sasha! I'm Nora White's sister. I'd be happy to answer your questions about the Bible Bee! You asked how many summer study memory verses there are. There are 59 memory verses total that you're supposed to memorize. In answer to your second question on whether you should memorize the Cross references, well, it all depends. If you are trying to make it to Nationals, then you most certainly should memorize the Cross references. I believe that about 35% of the questions will be on Cross references. If you aren't taking the test or trying to get to Nationals, then you can memorize the Cross references if you want to, but you don't have to. For your 3rd question you asked if you need to memorize the early release passages. At this point you don't absolutely have to. If you want to do Nationals and you have time to memorize your early release passages, well then you can do that if you want. If you aren't trying to go to Nationals, then you don't need to do the early release passages. Please let me know if you have any other questions; I'd love to answer them to the best of my ability! Remember that whatever study you do, that it isn't for nothing! The more we study God's Word, the more we can know Him and make Him known! Also, I encourage you to apply what you learn from God's Word to your life. The true reward of doing the Bible Bee isn't when we win the competition, it is when we allow God to use the knowledge of His Word to shape us more into who He wants us to be! God Bless you as you study His Word! Sincerely, Abigail White
@Sasha; My sister is doing the Bible Bee this year so I'll let her know and I'm sure she'll get back to you soon! She's really into it so I'm quite positive she'll have any answers! This is her first year doing it though. :D
Sorry Skyler! I don't want to join a group with verses that I don't need. I'm really sorry.
could you join group dogs for Jesus Sasha
Hi!
I was wondering 3 things
1) How many Summer Study Memory Verses are there?
2) Do I need to memorize the Cross-references?
3) Do I need to memorize the Early Release Passages?
Thanks!
Copycat. But that's okay. Please join Thrive(Juniors).

Can you please join national bible bee 2018.
I just joined Dog's for Jesus.
@Name, Sadly, yes, it is too late to join bible bee. We are already on the last week of the summer study. The summer study started in June, and the test for nationals is somewhere in August. The summer study is eight weeks long. Then we take the test, Wait for the answer, and then whoever got to nationals goes to a church... i forgot the name... where Bible bee nationals is being held. The national competition test is taken on the second day. Then you wait for answers to see who got in numbers 15 and under. Then those 15 compete in semi-finals on the third day. Then on the fourth day of the winners of the 15, Those 5 compete for a prize of, primary's $1,000 or more, Juniors' $3,000 or more, and senior's $5,000 or more. Then the winners have beat everyone else in the whole country in Bible bee.
I have not joined bible bee
So I was thinking of joining the Bible Bee (I would be joining the senior division) but am having trouble finding out what I am supposed to do. Is it too late to join it this year? I was also wondering what verses that the senior division has to memorize this year. Any help you guys could offer would be appreciated :)
I like it, it is more active then most groups
Thank you for checking out my group. Let my know what think of it.
Please join my group national bible bee 2018.

For those who want to study their curriculum/Hebrew/Greek words. I have all that on Quizlet if any one wants to check it out and use my account. My account name is deborah141 and it's under users. Thanks and check it out
The Bible Bee is a competition for young people ages 7-18 (3 different age-groups - Primaries: 7-10, Juniors: 11-14, Seniors: 15-18. What age-group you're in is determined on what age you'll be on November 13 of that year.). It's a bit like the Spelling Bee, but we study and memorize portions of the Bible instead! There's the local level in the summer, which is what's going on right now. Then there's an online test in August, and the top 120 contestants from each age group are invited to compete at Nationals in November! This year is the third year Nationals has been in San Antonio. Hope that at least gives you an idea:) you can go to biblebee.org to find out more. The Bible Bee Game Show is airing right now every Tuesday night at 8pm EST, you might find that interesting:) It was actually filmed in January of 2016. The Game Show is not the same thing as the actual bee, but it's connected, and the contestants on the Game Show (this is Season 2 of the GS) competed at the 2015 National Bible Bee.
Please join my group called Bible Bee 2017 2018. If you don't want to join any more groups please check it out and share. Thanks. It's not just for the Bible bee people but for everyone.

In case some of you aren't on the Google+ BB community, my sister Delie and Katherine Forster are organizing a project where people pray for individual contestants. You can read more about it here: https://sweeterthanhoneyblog.blogspot.com/2016/09/operation-pray-for-bible-bee-guest-post.html If you would like to add your name to the list, you can email Delie and ask her to send you the doc (I can't post it here for security purposes).
For any Juniors in Nationals who want to see how many Junior passages they have memorized, this group is for you! https://scripturetyper.com/group/view/fb7caae630/
Juniors have Acts 10:34-43 :D
We registered two days ago! I am super excited about going even if I am not the one competing!! :P
Thanks! I am very, very excited!! We registered yesterday! (obviously, or else we wouldn't be going :P)
Congratulations Mommys Helper!!!I didn't make it...but my sister did! 7 of us are going to nats(including me:) so hopefully I'll see y'all there!!
@Hannah: Congratulations! I can tell that you're very excited! :)
I'M GOING TO NATIONALS!!!!!! FOR SURE!!!!! It's just Dad, Caleb, and I though. (Not sure how I feel about that...)
I have to do it like you too Brianna-out loud. But for me my family just has to live with it when I'm memorizing in the vehicle!xP
=) I memorize so much better while pacing. And I have to do it out loud too. So that's kind of a bother, that I can't memorize very well while in the car or anything. xP x)
@Brianna: Your method sounds just like mine! I've almost become so dependent on pacing while I memorize that I can't memorize anything longer than a few verses while I'm sitting down :).
I also do it like Brianna. And I use Scripture Typer for review!!
I usually do it like Brianna. Repeat, repeat, repeat. :) And I take my cards everywhere (on walks, errands, in the car, etc.). On some of the harder passages, I draw pictures/first-letter-of-each-word designs to help me visualize the passage. I don't do it on all the passages because it takes a little while to draw it, but after I've finished drawing the passage, I learn it really quickly.
I use Scripture Typer. It's not amazing for review (at least for me - I'm lazy with reviewing xP) but it's great for memorizing and getting word perfect.
@Hannah: Yeah I know. xP
@Sarah: I don't have any specific way of memorizing - most of the time I just walk around and around and do a phrase/verse at a time and repeat repeat repeat. =)
Oh, I print out the passage on strips of paper and wear it as a bracelet. It's easier than carrying the card around with me. Other than that, I just say one phrase or verse aloud and try to act it out or do sign language with it, then add another verse until I get to the end. Generally it takes me three days to learn a passage and then recite it a couple times until I get it word perfect. :) How do you learn your passages?
xP @Brianna I mean what is her way of doing it?
Their family had 5 qualifiers this year and last year, and this is only their second year doing BB! xD
Studying's going pretty well--how about you? It's easier this year to memorize than it was last year, and I think I've found my favorite way to do it that really works. Plus I'm being harder on myself. ;)
There - I think I got them all.
Thanks! I might do that - I think that now I've joined the other Nationals group that has all the verses on it, I should be able to do it really easily. :)
You can make me an admin!! I'd happily put up the verses for you!!
How's everybody's studying going so far? Sorry I haven't gotten the verses up yet. If I don't get around to it soon I'll make Sarah or Katherine admin. ;)
Yeah I saw that. :) Sarah and Katherine are really good at adding verses Fast. ;)
This group already has the Senior and Junior passages: https://scripturetyper.com/Group/View/4ad0323ee3/
I will - you have to be an admin to do it. I'll try to get them all on here by the end of this week. :)
When will someone add the nationals passages? I don't know how to do it.
The unofficial contestant rankings are now posted! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ocU-tGgaHi4_wC4PHxeYj8CCsex9Ka1v6Px3mcTPMuI/edit#
Thank you also, Sarah, for the link to the Nationals group!
Thank you Sarah! I was so excited I forgot to look there or ask my mom!
Nationals is November 16-20. (I think it says in the rulebook).
Here's a group for Nationals: https://scripturetyper.com/group/view/4ad0323ee3/
xD Yay!!! Congratulations!!! xD
I QUALIFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!! #56!
The verses are out! Seniors: 915, Juniors: 795, Primaries: 618. And apparently they are all Different!!!
@Hannah: Yep. But maybe not someone who made it to Nationals is what I'm thinking...:P @Matryoshka1: Okay, then your the same age as my brother, Philip. He barely made it this year - 119. ;P (another junior from our bee was 120!) Well, it's always possible ;D But I know what you mean. But I thought just the winner (#1) goes into the next age group...?
@Brianna, I will have 2 more years as a Junior unless (I don't think its possible) I get in the top three places and get booted out.
LOL, yeah, Brianna. But since someone (or hundreds of someones) has been born on every day of the year, and there are thousands of people competing in BB, probably there's someone who was born on November 14. xP
Whups I meant to write I'm glad I'm not.
@Sarah: I'm glad not. ;) At least I know it's a good thing. =) @Marie: I will - oh, that's too bad. Do you know your rank though? Or was your host not able to tell you? That's exciting! My little brother(this is his last year as a primary) made it for the first time this year! xD @Hannah: Oh! Then you'll be even more the oldest than I am! ;D (I don't know for sure I'm the oldest Junior, but I don't know of anyone competing this year that's older than me;)
Had I been born 8 days earlier, I would have been a Junior in 2014. :P
@Brianna-Tell your family members congratulations on making it to Nat's. Congrats to you as well:P I didn't make it this year...but my little sister did! It's her first time making it to Nat's so she was really excited!!
You'll be glad in your last year as a Senior that you weren't born 2 weeks earlier. :)
How many more years do you have as a Junior? This is my last year - I would actually be a senior this year if I was 2 weeks older. ;P
xD Yeah. Once Melody, who will be a primary next year (is a beginner this year), corrected Summer, a primary, on a passage we hadn't even worked on with Melody! ;D We're thinking she's going to be a BB star. ;P
Yes I am a Junior. You also know you are in Bible Bee if your five year old sister prompts you on a verse. Embarassing
I'm guessing you will? xD Are you a Junior?
Hope all y'all make it to Texas this year!
Oh never mind. I forgot Grace told me y'all don't have a host this year. :)
Thanks! xD @Buddy&Grace: Do you know yet if y'all made it?
Great Job, Brianna! I will see if I made it this afternoon.
Congratulations @Brianna
Great Job all who made it to Nationals! :)
@Marie: Yes she is Courtney M. :) We just got back from award day! I made Nationals. xD
SO funny, once we were talking about loving our enemies and my friend quoted a verse to her brother about doing unto others what others would do to you, (trying to get her brother to do something nice to her, I think) and I told her that she should apply the same verse to herself.
@Courtney- If you are you would probably know my older sis Rachel! :)
@Courtney- I am Marie M. Are you Courtney M?
@Hannah: Oh! Poor you! ;( Too bad they don't send the host's everybody's! ;)
You know you're in BB when you have conversations like this: Someone asks you if you'd like some more of something. You say, "No, I'm good." Your brother says, "None is righteous, no, not one." You say, "Not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Jesus Christ." Your brother says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." You answer, "And are justified by his grace as a gift through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." (Usually it ends here, but sometimes it goes farther if someone can think of other verses that apply. ;) )

@Hannah - Since BBHQ is "technically" your host, maybe you can call them xD
I also know that I participate in Bible Bee when I watch the Olympics and want to do just as well in Bible Bee as they do in whatever they do.
I am homeschooled, so we can easily take a week off for Bible Bee. I know I participate in Bible Bee because I also daydreamed being at the last supper, and when my sisters played in the mud and got their feet dirty, I said "you also ought to wash one another's feet". My sister was irritated.
Hey Marie - are you Marie M. or Marie T. or another Marie that I don't know?
@Hannah - no, the host only sees the scores for their bee. :( About the school thing - we are very flexible with what times of the year we do school, as I'm sure many of you are. So if we want to do school in the summer and take the fall off, no big deal. Of course Bible Bee shouldn't disrupt school, but Bible Bee *is* part of our school. :) And most people who get to Nationals just won't have much trouble catching up if they fall a bit behind. :P
cries when I see Brianna's post I wonder if the host sees all the scores... maybe I could get someone's host to announce mine... xP
bites fingernails, looks at the calendar repeatedly I still can't believe they're making us who don't have a host wait until Tuesday! looks at calendar again 4 more days! cries, looks at calender, looks at clock I wonder what time the scores will be released on Tuesday? looks at calendar again, wishes today were Tuesday
I'm so excited about award day today! xD
Yeah, us too. :) We didn't take off while studying for Nationals, but Mom arranges it so when our grandparents come we can be off. :D
Oh really? Well what we've done is depending on where we are in school(if we're behind or ahead or on track) we take off school (mostly during Nationals season) if we feel like we need to and can. I would think that would be okay 'cause we don't have a "normal school schedule" anyways - we always just take off whenever we need to.
I think it says something along the lines of you have to be doing school, or that studying BB can't disrupt your normal school schedule. I can't find it in the rulebook now, but I know it was there last year. :)
Do the rules really say that? O.o
Who else has said this to their mom: "Mom, can you say I don't have to do school this year? Because if you say it before we find out if I qualified for Nationals, it won't be violating the rules. But if you say it after we find out, it's cheating because the rules say that your ranking in the country can't affect your school schedule." Even though lots of people cheat like that anyway...
You know you're in Bible Bee if you wish that the Olympics could have started just a week later; you know you're in Bible Bee if all your friends ever hear about is how you really want to fly to Texas in November.
Lol, all my friends say I'm super competitive too. Like seriously, I am very disappointed if I get second place in something. :P
No, I haven't. That's sounds neat. ;) Sometimes we make up motions to go with passages. =)
@Brianna-Have you heard of scripture talk? It is a memorizing video that has you memorize with actions. For some people it works great!! Problem is that it only has a couple passages! ;P
That's why I really like memorizing passages with a lot of dialogue in them - so I can almost act them out. =)
Me too :) We acted it out to help us understand John 13-15 better and videotaped it. It really made you think, 'What would the disciples be thinking right now? We also like the Gospel of John movie, because some of the disciples have the greatest facial expressions. It helps you see that they weren't just passive listeners and that Jesus was responding to them in what he said. :D
@Brianna- Thanks! @Marie- Haha! I can just imagine the serenity of the upper room, the clinking of glasses, Jesus's quiet and majestic voice, and the disciples' worry. It's a super great scene to daydream on, or even write a narrative on, from the perspective of one of the disciples.
@RBB5-I have totally daydreamed about that before. Like during fam devotions and Dad has to say 'Hey Marie, Its your turn to read.' ;P
@RBB5: I like your picture! I'd like to make a flower like that. x) I've daydreamed about that before I think. =)
You know you're in Bible Bee when you begin daydreaming about what it might feel like to witness the Last Supper. (Actually I'm pretty sure that's just me.)
Those are funny! :D @Hannah I'm sure it's not just you that's too competitive. I've heard that one before! :)
@Anna: That's the way! I'm praying that you'll do really well! xD
You know you're in BB when your friends tell you that you're too competitive (or is that just me?)
You know you're in BB when your brother tells you to make mind maps of John, and you ask him what mind maps are. His answer: "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known what mind maps are?" - Isaac 14:9
I'm already pretty certain that I did worse on the test than I did on five of the six practice tests I took, haha! I'm a little disappointed, but trying to trust God that He knows what is best for me.
You know you're in Bible Bee when you accidentally pray for the cross-references instead of the Crosswhites :).
lol I know how you feel. ;P How do you think you did? xD
@Sarah: LOL! xD That is SO cute! xD @Marie: Yeah, probably. xP I don't know how many Courtney's looked up in one season, but I know she has the same problem. ;P
@Brianna: They probably don't have tons of Greek words...but if you learned 100 of them you would have a fairly good chance of knowing all the Greek words on the test! :P
@Brianna I know! :) Another one: You know you're in Bible Bee when you ask your 3yo brother where he's going, and he says, "Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but you will follow afterward." ;D
I really like the Greek, so during Nationals season I have to hold myself back and make sure not to do like a hundred or something words. xP
@Mommys Helper: I do not do well with Greek words. So that is where I really went down. Otherwise I think it went well!
"You know you're in Bible Bee when you feel as if you can't survive any longer if you don't find out your score." ;D
My first one is "You know you're in Bible Bee when you highlight your DJ during the commercials in the Olympics." ;)
So now that everyone's done and is biting their fingernails until they find out the results, anyone want to have some fun and fill in the blank for the following question? "You know you're in Bible Bee when..." :)
Pretty well I think. There were more cross-references than I expected. :)
Really well! I mean, pretty well. I have already found out that there was at least one question I got wrong. :( xP But I think it was fairly easy. I was glad that there were lots of Greek word questions, because Greek words are easy for me. :D
How'd the test go for ya'lls?
Well, the test window closes in 8 minutes, so I guess it's safe to get on here again. xP
That's a good idea. Hope it goes well for everyone!
Hi everyone! I hope that testing goes really well for y'all tomorrow (or Sunday or Monday)! I wanted to encourage y'all to stay off this group Saturday-Monday, regardless of when you take the test. Most of you probably know that you shouldn't say anything about the test on here, but just in case someone does, I think that it's best if we all stay off for a few days. Have a good last few hours of studying! :)
I'm going to try to take the other senior test later today...before I take the other junior and primary tests(if I take those at all).
I took the senior test today...did better than I thought I would, but can't really count it since I had already taken the junior one. :P
I just took the Junior practice test. A few questions were hard, but I did pretty well. I did find a few typos, though. My sister said that taking the Bible Bee test was like going through a rocket launch. Locals was training. Nationals is the hopeful result, but even if she didn't get there she would learn something. don't you think that, too?
@Everett: The Jonah test was pretty hard as well. And I definitely see the similarities. (I have been in BB for 5 years so I have taken that test.
Well hope you all do well on your test!
I will do the practice test today. Thanks for putting it up
Hello All! Over the next three days is the test! Hope you all do your best!
Mmmhmm. Yeah, I would say the ones I've taken are pretty similar to last Nat's. :)
@Brianna - I honestly don't really know. I'm hoping for a medium-hard test, but based on last year it'll probably be pretty easy. After receiving some feedback, I would say that the tests my group wrote are most similar to the 2015 National tests. @Marie - That is most likely true. IMO, the hard test was a fairly good representation of the 2014 Jonah and Nahum tests. If you took the official practice test BB released, you would see the similarities :) Yes I'm a Senior!
@Brianna: The junior test.
@Everett My older sis told me that the real test wouldn't be as hard as the one you guys made.(I was very relieved ;P) But this sure helped me! Thanks! BTW your in seniors, right?
Thanks Everett! I took the junior test today. I wonder if the real test will be harder or easier than those...you know, usually, when the study guide is hard, the test is easy, and when the study is easy, the test is hard. ;P
@Brianna - The Junior test has 150 questions. The Senior test includes those same 150 questions + 50 extra questions that are maybe a bit harder. Here is the hard test: https://www.classmarker.com/online-test/start/?quiz=qfn579a2f8d67a97
@Marie - I'm glad it helped! I highly doubt the real test will be that hard, but it's just fun for some of us to make those types of questions xD
@Marie: which one was it? I'm hoping to take the junior one today. @Anna: Thanks for the reminder! I would have forgotten! ;P
@Everyone: Don't forget that the National Bible Bee Day of Prayer is at 3:00 (CST) this afternoon!
I just took the HARD practice test. Thank you so much to whoever made it. It helped me a lot!
So the Junior and Senior ones are exactly the same or similar? I realized that there would be some repeated questions...Thanks! :)
Glad it's helpful! @Brianna - Jsyk, the Junior and Senior ones share the same set of questions. Also, about 25 questions from the Primary test are used in both.
I only took the Senior test, but it was really helpful. Thanks everyone who made it! :D
I'm planning to take the Junior and Senior ones too, before the test.
I just took the primary practice test, and I like it! Everyone who wrote it did a really good job! I did notice at least 1 question that was repeated, just with different wording, but that's kind of inevitable. x)
It's in the rulebook, which was posted on the Google plus group. I don't think it says on the website.
Really?! Am I missing that on the website?
@Audrey: From what I've heard, you just pick seven of those passages to recite to two adults. You can pass any of the passages, and you can also ask for up to three prompts per passage (I'm not sure why they limit the prompts if you can pass the passage :)).
Hey, does anyone know if the verse list for the oral test posted yet?
I know. Ephesians 1:1-14 is the longest sentence in the Bible( Bible translators split it up) the shortest sentence Paul wrote is: 'Behold!' 1 Corinthians 15:52
@Sarah - Most people score a good deal lower. We threw plenty of comprehension questions in to make it more like the 20111-2014 tests.
That is funny! My pastor says that Paul talks in paragraphs, not sentences. :) I guess that's why it's all one sentence!
Hello! My sister noticed that Ephesians 3:16-19 is only one sentence! Ha-ha!
@Anna M: Thanks you. I did BB last year so I do Know how to use Classmarker.
@Brianna: That's really too bad about Game Show. We really should be praying for BBH as they are going through a lot right now.
@Marie: My brother said that he does not think they're even going to have a Game Show this year, because they're not going to air the Game Show filmed in January 2016 until next spring. =/ !?! I hope they have one but...
@Marie: Just so you know, this test is to help you learn the format of Classmarker. The practice test is on Jonah, so it's not supposed to prepare you for the content of the Locals test :).
There is one on bible bee.org and today is the last day to take it....
I have a couple questions. #1 Does anyone know when gameshow is coming out? And does anyone know of any pre-bible bee tests?
Hi all......i have not been on lately....but i should be on now more often....how is everyone doing with the DC?
Thanks for organizing this Anna! :)
I'd appreciate it if everyone would pray for all the first year Primaries. I know they've been working hard and although they may not make it to Nationals, they need encouragement for all the time they've put into it. (They need prayer especially because at that age the spiritual and long term rewards may not seem as obvious).
I just posted this on the Announcements:
"National Bible Bee Day of Prayer
This year, we will take some special time to pray on Wednesday, August 3rd, at 3:00 PM (CST). Let's pray for good health, no technical issues, and clarity of mind. And most importantly, let's pray that God would be glorified through it all!"
Does anyone have any prayer requests?
I saw there's a hard practice test as well--would you recommend getting the same scores or are lower ones expected?
I've finished adding all the cross references. Happy studying! :)
If you wanted to see scores, you could make a list where anyone who took the test could put their score but without their name to make it anonymous. I'd be willing to put my score on if you did. :)

There's not really a passing score, but the cutoff scores last year for Juniors/Seniors were high 70s and low 80s. But I'd also say that overall, these tests are a little harder than last year's. @Anna: Unfortunately I can't see anything because I don't have the paid version of Classmarker.
@Sarah: Maybe 100? jk :D @Everett: Are you able to see what scores people get on it (not specific people, just what the average is)?
Thanks! Is there a recommended passing score? (I.E. consider yourself well prepared if you get this or above?)

Thanks to a wonderful group of contestants, we have full-length practice tests for all divisions available! These should resemble the 2015 tests in level of difficulty, content, and style. Please tell me if you find any errors or mistakes :) Hope they help! Primary: https://www.classmarker.com/online-test/start/?quiz=jfe5797bcc1ab3f6
Junior: https://www.classmarker.com/online-test/start/?quiz=qjh5798f9148f123
Senior: https://www.classmarker.com/online-test/start/?quiz=e7j5798f4f3e1c69
@Sarah: Thanks for doing this! It's been helpful. :)
@Drewtheguru: I have not heard anything said specifically about that, but I would assume that you could go back and check like we always have been able to.
I've added almost all the way to the end of Romans, starting at the start. I'll try to finish soon. I didn't put in duplicates, although some of them (i.e. Romans 10:9-10) occurred multiple times. I also tried not to overlap too much (i.e., one time we looked up Rms 10:8-10, once Rms 10:9-10, so I put in only one of those (generally whichever covered the most verses). :)
Okay. Thank you! I'm a Senior, so that's good :).
They're senior cross references. We went through and wrote down every one. So they may not all be necessary to know, but we figured it's God's word, so there's no harm in memorizing something we don't have to. :)
Which age division are the CRs from the DJ collection?
Does the test the year allow you to go back? or can we know?
I just decided to use my extra BB study time to do that today :)
Whoa you seem to have a lot of extra time! ;D Thanks! If it was just me working on them I'd probably never get them all done. ;P
I've added a collection called "DJ cross references" that has all the OT CRs. I'll add the NT soon. :D
My sister counted 348 CRs. I'll start adding them and hopefully we won't overlap too much. Thanks!
Okay you should be admin now. x)
I am working on my own list of CR's right now and I can try to add them once I finish, but I will make you admin anyways Sarah so maybe more than 1 person could do it(you might do it faster than I would anyways;P). There is quite a few CR's! xD
Or if it would be easier I could add them if someone made me an admin. :D
Would it be possible for someone to add all the CRs from the DJ? I could give a list if it would help. :)
thx, yeah I agree, but most of the time it's about the right size.
Yeah...and then in just a very few places there seems to be too many lines...xD
Has anyone noticed that the DJ doesn't give half enough room to write things out? :) I'm sure they probably want you to summarize, but there's some things you just can't leave out. Almost every passage I have to write something about takes the whole line given plus an imaginary line below. :D
@Sarah and Brianna: Thanks!
@Sarah: Yes, definitely. x)
@Anna: yeah, I know some people did that - we didn't want to do all that printing. :P It's a pretty dark green. If you go to the BB website there's a picture of the senior study on the Study Resource page. You can see the color there:)
On the dashboard the icon for the Senior study is a dark green color. :)
@Brianna: We printed ours (with BB's permission), so I don't know what color it is. @Sarah: Haha, true!
Even though they'll be different, we can still be a reminder of what happens when you abide :) (I mean, you wouldn't want to be a reminder of what happens when you don't abide and have brown shirts!)
My guess is though that it's something like the color on the front of the senior DJ...
No, I haven't seen the t-shirt yet, but Woody Marada (staff) said that she really likes that color green. =/ xP Yeah...but still it will just be, like, peculiar, and kind of sad, to see the seniors in green instead of red like it's always been. x(
I'm disappointed, because I don't really like change; but, it does seem like green will look good on camera, which may be what they're going for. And green, blue, and purple complement each other nicely. Have you see the T-shirt yet? I'm hoping that it's not very dark, because I don't want to look like I'm wearing one of my brother's ALERT Cadet shirts :).
Mixed feelings...I like the color green, but I still don't want it to change! :P
Thanks Anna! That sounds great! Did everyone hear that they're changing the senior shirts to green? Primary is purple and Junior is blue. I'm so like, mad! I'll never get a red shirt! Argh! I don't really think that they'll change it back for this year, but Courtney had the idea of all the seniors signing a petition, or something. Maybe they(we) could all sign it at Nat's for next year... xP
Okay. I'll figure out a date and time, and then I'll post it on here (and all the other places I mentioned). And if someone else organizes it first, then that's fine too :). It'll probably be sometime in the last week before Locals.
I can't organize it (partly because I wouldn't have a clue what I was doing) but it would be great if you or someone else did! I know the staff at BBHQ appreciates our prayers. :)
@Sarah: I haven't heard anything about there being one this year, but I could organize the date and time if you like. I'm on Quizlet, Memverse, and the Google+ BB community, so I could announce it on there. I could also post it on my Bible Bee blog (sweeterthanhoneyblog.blogspot.com). But if you or someone else would like to organize it, then you're certainly welcome to! :)
only 20,009 verses until first. ;)
I think I read somewhere last year about a day of prayer some time during the summer study for the Bible Bee. Is that something that happens every year and is there going to be one this year?
Thanks! That makes sense :)
Sorry for the formatting of that post. I tried to do paragraph breaks, but ST wouldn't let me. Hopefully, you can tell what I wrote :).
Haha! I gave that tip to another friend a few weeks ago, and she asked the same thing. I'll copy and paste the example that I gave her :). John 14:23 says, "Jesus answered him, 'If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.' "
Who is speaking in this verse? Jesus
Who is he replying to? Judas (not Iscariot)
What is the result of love? Keeping Jesus' word
When we keep Jesus' word, who loves us? God the Father
Who will God and Jesus make their home with? The one who loves and obeys Jesus
What key Greek words are in this verse? Keep (tereo) and love (agapao
Here's some more that I said about it, "Doing this really helps me to analyze each word and also distinguish one verse from the other. I normally don't pull out quite as many questions from one verse as I did above, but I wanted to show you some of the different types of questions I write. If you prefer, you can also write summaries/paraphrases of the verse. Example: "This honors my Father and shows that you are my disciples: the fruit of the Spirit in your life." (John 15:8) Personally, interview questions is easier on my brain, so I do that. Also, I did summaries for Locals and interview questions for Nationals last year, and I was five places higher at Nationals. That may not have made the difference, but since I didn't do worse, I think I'll stick with interview questions :). I hope that all of this is clear! Let me know if something didn't make sense."
What exactly do you mean by "writing interview questions"? Thanks for the help! :)
@Lanna: I'd say that endurance and being consistent are the most important part of memorization. I'm glad to see you on this group! :D @Sarah: I highlight everything that is important in the DJ (which is just about everything, but it helps me to sort through info faster), and then I review the highlighted parts a bunch before Locals. Taking practice tests, making lists of things, writing interview questions, and learning the individual references in John 13-15 is also great! :)
I've read some things on how to prepare for the online test at the end of the DJ, such as finish the DJ, know your passages super well etc. However, do some of you who have done Bible Bee for a lot of years have extra studying things you do to prepare for the test? I'd like to do some extra so I'd like to know what you do. Thanks! :D
