I am a very active person and I go on multiple times a day. Hi, MJoyB, You need to push the "JOIN" button that is close to top of
the Group Name and Description, then your name will appear on the list. You can tap on the Collection named "Taste and See .." and choose the Translation you want to learn it in. Dot has the Scriptures listed and you can start with any of them. ST itself lists in order alphabetically then numerically.

My list still appeared when I clicked on your group so I figured I would rejoin since I finally found how to eliminate reviewing the individual verses after I mastered the whole chapter. I always appreciate reading your posts on FB. I am so glad to have the opportunity to be a part of ST!
Dot, I have mastered all of Ps 34, Isa 40, & Jam 1 on my own Verse Page and now just want to review the whole passages rather than the individual verses so I am removing myself from this group for that reason. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INTRODUCING ME TO ST BY INVITING ME INTO YOUR GROUP!!

Some are only learning the individual verses. Dot also set up the larger sections because my goal is to learn and practice whole passages. Do as much or as little as you like. You can also change versions if you prefer. We are glad to help if needed!

I checked out the "Little Bible Verses" group and am amazed at what you have done there ... I know it must take a lot of time to keep current on all those verses and do our group verses as well! Thanks tho' for starting this group and joining the Christmas group too!
YES, I would love for you to join. I imputed the verses in ESV but you can change yours to KJ to review what you already learned. I just sent out invitations via FB BUT I DON'T HAVE MANY FRIENDS so

Dot, when you finish learning the verses in Isa 40 are you going to impute that whole passage into our list? Would you also impute the whole James 1:1-27 passage as if I do it, it only goes on my uncategorized verses on my own verse page which I can do if you don't plan to practice it as a whole which is fine as it is long...just let me know. I am still working on reviewing the final section. Thanks
When I set up the new group "Christmas Story..." I first created a "New Collection" on MY VERSES PAGE for the "Preamble.."Collection and then on my CHRISTMAS STORY GROUP page when I hit the "Add A Collection" button, 3 choices appeared: MY COLLECTIONS (it showed them in red), S T Collections, and MY Uncategorized Verses and when I hit on the "Preamble" Collection the system imported it into the new group. Then I did the same thing with the Christmas Story Collection. But I don't know if it will work since you have already have the verses for Isa 40 already in the "Taste and See ..." Collection but you might try it when you decide on the next passage to do.
As "group Manager" when you click on Taste and See Group on your "My Verses" page and it goes to our group page, DO YOU SEE ANOTHER BOX IN RED that says "Add a Collection"? When you click on it, what do you see?
yes, I'm awake better:-) how do you separate verses under a heading (like other groups have it separated by chapter or book or theme within the group under headings.
Charlotte, be sure and check in other groups. I notice they have divisions that keep verses separate. most do it by chapters. how do they do that? that way you can go right to where you want to go without going thru tons of verses. in a group.
And yes, I agree about keeping the indiv verses on the Group list for new ones that will hopefully join! I'm really impressed by the mechanism of the system also!! The other thing you might consider is to break the list up and rename it as another collection and impute it into our group. I don't want anyone intimidated by a long list to begin with! That way a new person can have a choice as to what passage to learn first.
No, it would'nt matter, the points and badges are a nice system but I want to spend my time practicing and reviewing the sections and passages. Also it would make the list shorter that you have to scroll thru to get to new verses or practice the ones needing review. And really because I like to combine the same verses into a larger section and then into the whole ... the verses may be counted 3 times!
oh, if you remove them, you might be removing your verse count. not sure on that. and it may not matter to you. just be aware.
Charlotte, I don't think it will change the main post. you might take Ps 34:1 off and let me check. also did you know you can change the version to whatever version you prefer? I didn't figure that out for a while! sometimes I do KJV and sometimes another. I check out a few before I start memorizing. this app is so well done! I'm much impressed! BTW I like to keep individual verses there for beginners or slow to learn people like myself who need a long bit of time to put verses together. but if you 'got it', there's no sense having them in your way ( so to speak). enjoy! blessings! But that answers one question I had: If I delete the individual verses 1 - 10 of PS 34 because I will keep reviewing your section 1- 10 ESV along with my NRSV sections 11- 14 and 15 - 18 as well as whole PS 34, WILL IT DELETE THEM FROM THE GROUP'S LIST? I didn't want to mess the whole group's up!
That OK, Dot, as long as it is still on your group list, I will have it in my section of verses 9-18 and it now show up in my review after I re-mastered it. I think that may have come about because I added a word to my verse 17 so that my reads "due to turning or change" since "turning" was the word I associate with shadow probably as much from the song as the scripture previously memorized!

You may have a closed group, meaning you and you only may invite people to join. either way. I think open groups make it possible for people from anywhere in the ST family to join. I'm thinking there's no problem there, but it's up to the group manager to decide.
Charlotte, it is still here on mine. try again to post it on group. it may take 24 hrs or so? let me know when it comes back or not. I might need to ask ST. I have on occasion emailed them and they have always answered in timely manner. BTW I invited W when I saw him at work. right there he joined. so you can ask someone outright to join or hit the 'Invite' button for other options.
It again put it in my uncat. list & doesn't let me impute it into "our group list" so I guess that is something the "Manger" has to do.
Dot, I caught a fluke error today in a funny way when a rogue verse from James 1 appeared in my column of uncategorized verses...so I deleted it and when I went to my Taste and See list tonight, it is missing from there! Don't know if it is missing from your list also. It was 1:17 which I worked on & mastered last night... so I will just impute it back in!
BTW his group is The Little Bible Verses. I gave him one of these a while back and he used it to start his group! it has 1 or 2 verses from every book in the Bible. pretty cool. I have all of the ones in NT mastered. Some were familiar. but the OT...I have some I've 'put on hold' to work on. it's a good memory exercise, that's for sure! you would enjoy the challenge and that's really the purpose of the groups...to challenge each other:-)❤️

I'm working imputing the verses in Luke 2 for the new "Christmas Story according to Luke" group. I already imputed the verses for an optional collection "Preamble to the Christmas Story" from Luke 1:26-35. And transferred it to the new group. But I'm not ready to start yet. And I will need some advice or help when I do the INVITES.

These past two rainy days have been a good time to put in some extra time on learning & mastering our verses as I will probably be away from the computer for 3 or 4 days this next year (I don't have a smart phone or laptop) but I have enough stored up I can practice on with paper & pencil when I have time & energy!

I smiled at your opening words of your PS as ALSO "I have loved James" ... just a different James! We met in college on the night of the day in which Pres. Kennedy was shot ...and were married almost 36 year!!
I had to laugh at myself, for when I went on the "Community Q/A" part seeking info as to whether I delete indiv verses after I have mastered them in a block of verse also, and a lady was complaining that she could only master her verse if she typed more that 71 wpm because that is the speed she "Typed" the verse in at!!! You will note my av speed is 22 altho I have even mastered some at 40 wpm!!!
I understand ...and we all handicapped in one way or other ...I can't type well & I have to be looking at the keyboard to type so I make a lot of corrections, so I found it works better for me to memorize and MASTER in the TYPING MODE for Preference as it allows you to backspace to make corrections and measures your success only by your own average typing speed ! You might pass that along to Lynn when you talk to her!

PS I have loved James and studied this book for years. I am familiar with the first 8 verses, they were not hard to put to memory, but now comes the hard part... the rest of chapter one. I'm still not are you interested in doing the whole book? I believe you can choose to do it in a different version than what's posted on the group.
Hi, Charlotte! It's tough! I'm still working on Ps. 34! But I also am working on James and Isaiah verses. ps 34 is new to me, but the verses are short and easy and wonderful!! So I say those first 4 I have in my mind just before I go to bed. I've always loved Isaiah 40, but I've never learned more than vs. 31. they are amazing to me, but much more difficult, especially putting them all together! I will be slow but steady on those! I've never been fast with memorization and it's only by the grace of God I can do it at all! truly I love doing this!!

Great, Charlotte! I've only been in one group and this is my first one to start and manage. and I haven't managed it too well! I mastered the 10. wow! You are doing great! check every now and then and all of a sudden they will put your name and number on they will post your numbers.
