@Everyone: I hope your Preparation Day is productive as you prepare for the true Sabbath day of rest. Do not let anything distract you from getting ready to be in the presence of the Lord for the sacred hours of the Seventh day Sabbath. The devil has already tried over the last several days to cause me grief and stress, and steal my blessing. However, a special blessing is in store for me tonight. I get to participate in a sing-along Handels Messiah! How I miss those days when I sang the long score every Christmas for years with our local Symphony Choir and Orchestra.
Some of my review verses this morning: Romans 10:12-14 KJV - "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"
❤ Brethren, let us make good use of the few hours we have before us to prepare for the blessed Sabbath day of the Lord, the day of rest that God made for man. Genesis 2:2-3 KJV - "And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made." Happy Sabbath! 🙏🙂🌺
Oh, how I need His strength!
Part of my review this morning: Isaiah 40:28-30 KJV - "Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall."
Yes, that is a wonderful verse. Just to think that Jesus is now ministering on our behalf in the true Sanctuary not made by the hands of man.
One of my verses reviewed today is Hebrew 9:24. I'm so thankful that Jesus is my High Priest!
Happy Sabbath! Yes, Marilyn we have much for which to thank our wonderful heavenly Father!
🌺 Happy Sabbath, everyone! 🙏❤
I am especially thankful this Thanksgiving for our good health, a loving church family, the blessings we take for granted such as plenty to eat, my sweet cat Pepper (14 now!), and God the Father Who loves us so much that He gave us Jesus to die for our sins so that we will not have to. And I love and appreciate all of the beautiful creation that God gave us to enjoy. Be blessed everyone! God loves you.
Verses from my review that put trials in perspective: Psalm 119:71, 75-76 KJV - "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Thy statutes. I know, O LORD, that Thy judgments are right, and that Thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. Let, I pray Thee, Thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to Thy word unto Thy servant."
Jesus gave us an example regarding politics: He stayed out of it.
Jesus had all authority in heaven and on earth. But as a man, He stayed out of it.
He saw the darkest of the corruption. But He stayed out of it.
If His kingdom is our kingdom, let's stay out of this world's politics.
Let's follow His example.

Memorizing the word of God is a tremendous blessing! Here are some review verses from this morning which include a few of my thoughts: Proverbs 28:2, 4-5 KJV - "For the transgression of a land [the US] many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge [Trump] the state thereof shall be prolonged [God is holding back the winds of strife until His Saints are sealed]. They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things."
Hi everyone! How are you doing with your memorizing? Are you continuing to instill the word of God in your minds? 😲🙏
🌺 God bless you all. Happy Sabbath everyone! 🙏😄🍂🍃
Some of my favorite verses: Proverbs 30:24-28 KJV - "There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces."
Our worship time today was so special. Besides the subject matter in the SS lesson and sermon, the man that tells the children's story had some friends bring their pet opossum for his Creature Feature. It was so fun to see that beautiful little animal! We always eagerly anticipate what interesting topic he will share. He has brought a small raccoon, a baby owl, and a pine (gopher) snake recently. What a blessing his presentations have been. And he knows all the Latin names!
Thank you, Marilyn, for the verses. They are pertinent to recent issues in the news.
Also: Colossians 3:8-13 KJV - "But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."
I had the delight of receiving counsel again through a few of my favorite memory verses this morning: Psalm 118:4-8 KJV - "Let them now that fear the LORD say, that His mercy endureth forever. I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

I like Pr Ron Kelly any time, but this YouTube video by him was exceptional! https://youtu.be/cAa9_XUuymU?si=UCvR0zG_aMn_C7C5
Why do beavers rest EVERY Sabbath? video on YouTube. A strange silence is observed over the Sabbath (Saturday). A hush falls over all their activities at sundown every Friday evening without fail. And this is regarding every beaver around the world, regardless of the season. Sunday mornings, they begin their work again. https://youtu.be/uZ-Sz7fLyf0?si=NeLvyc8eRwzBo8W9
Sabbath preparation varies. Sometimes someone else in the house needs guidance to see what needs to be done. As I teach Sabbath School once a month, and have other responsibilities at church, there are various preparations for my parts there. Always, it seems, more could be done, if there were more time. So I have to tell myself, "We've done what we could. It's enough." Most important is to prepare my heart to seek Him more fully.
I have several things to do on this Preparation Day: dishes and cooking, some yard work, and last minute bits and pieces. What kind of things do you have to do to prepare for the Sabbath of the Lord?
🌺 Happy Sabbath everyone! 🙏❤
Jesus gave up His Heavenly glory when He offered up Himself as a sacrifice for your ransom. So our response to Him should be like what the song called, Give of Your Best to the Master, speaks of: "Give of your best to the Master, give of the strength of your youth; throw your souls fresh, glowing ardor, into the battle for truth. Jesus has set the example, dauntless was He, young and brave; give Him your loyal devotion, give Him the best that you have."
Isaiah 59:17, 18 KJV - "For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon His head; and He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompence to His enemies; to the islands He will repay recompence."
Hi everyone!!! Please join my group called Truth Be Told! Hope to see you there soon!!!😊😃
I love the comforting message of these verses: Psalm 27:9-14 KJV say, "Hide not Thy face far from me; put not Thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. Teach me Thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
🌺 Happy Sabbath everyone! 🙏❤🙏
Fountainview Academy choir and orchestra (from Canada) will be live at the Village SDA Church in College Place, Washington tonight. The program starts at 7 pm and may be LIVE on Blue Mountain TV or the HOPE Channel. You may also be able to see it on Youtube and Facebook. They have excellent music program! Then tomorrow, John Bradshaw will be speaking during the Gospel Outreach program (same church). Hope you can make it!
Ephesians 4:14-15 KJV - "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"
❤ Happy Sabbath everyone! 😄
Well, I finally have a new phone and will be setting it up like I like over the next few days. The last several weeks have been a trying time for me: broken BM app on my phone (and on the computer site somewhat), broken phone, painful ugly stye under my left eye (had to go to my eye doctor for and Rx, and to an urgent care doctor for additional help). To top it off, the ABO may be causing my uncomfortable abodominal problems. There is more, but no need to bore you with any more of my woes. Hopefully your life is running much smoother than mine! But I am grateful for the presence of the Lord through it all. He is truly the best companion one can have!
They strengthen me for the battle. 1 Peter 4:16, 19 KJV - "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator."
Yes, Marilyn. Those are precious verses. But I've never heard someone connect James 1:2-4 with fighting depression. (I'd heard of them being used to encourage patience.) How do you see them as helpful?
The word of God is very healing, and speaks to each one of us in a personal way. That is what I saw since I have a tendency to become depressed. It started when I was a child. And right now I have a very sore eye because of a clogged oil gland. I am reminded by these verses to accept suffering to learn patience. There are other verses I could have pointed to; this was just the passage I needed at the moment.
Yes, Marilyn. Those are precious verses. But I've never heard someone connect James 1:2-4 with fighting depression. (I'd heard of them being used to encourage patience.) How do you see them as helpful?
The devil never lets up. He does try to "wear out" the saints with continuous oppression. So, when I am tempted to become depressed, here are some good verses to remember. James 1:2-4 KJV say, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
My BM phone app is back to normal. I waited patiently as Mr Golson worked, and made some changes of my own (to my page), and I am back up and running. Praise God! 😄
Amen! I really appreciate the founder, Brett Golson. He has been sooo patient with me, listening to all my complaints, and diligently working with his team to find a solution.
I'm glad to hear you found a solution, Marilyn. May God help us all to us well the tools He has put in our hands.
Thank you for your prayers. My Android phone Bible Memory app was very badly broken! The developer and I have exchanged several emails back and forth between us. Things are pretty much back to normal. He has worked very diligently to restore my site, and I am very grateful.
You are right, John. I may have depended too much on the convenience of this app, and this may be the way God has chosen for me to redirect my methods of memorization. It is still broken and does not even sync with the online website. But I have given this problem over to God. I believe He knows best.
How is the review going now, Marilyn? I'm glad to read of your determination to keep up with review. It certainly is important! And I appreciate this app. It is not my only review method, but it does help. Because I know that different people learn and retain well with different methods, and because I know that technology sometimes lets us down, I would encourage everyone to try different systems and have backup methods. Whatever works to get God's Word implanted in our hearts and keep it there, God will bless us through it.
Irregardless of what the devil does to try to intimidate me (and others), I am established in the faith and settled in my beliefs, just as it says in 1 Peter 5:8-10 KJV - "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you."
I cannot work on my verses on my own phone. Something is broken! So pray for me. I have had a hard time the last two days trying to figure out how to keep up with my review verses on here.
Good morning everyone! I think the Developer is making positive changes on the leadership board of our Bible Memory app because many people are falling behind reviewing their memory verses. I would like to encourage each of you to try to catch up, and stay up. Do not lose your interest in this app as it may be the only encouragement to someone who needs something positive to focus on as we enter into darker days of evil just ahead. You could be the very light that inspires them to hang on to Jesus. Stay inspired! 🙏😀
Yes, ears to hear and eyes to see. What a blessed thing it would be if we all understood the Truth, as it is in Jesus! Someday in heaven... 😌🙏❤
Yes, Marilyn. It's plain enough. I wish all had "ears to hear" as Jesus said.
I love this verse in Matthew 28:1 KJV - "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre." It very plainly declares that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, the true day of the Lord. Jesus rested on His holy Sabbath as He commands us to do as well.
The new quarter's verses, for The Book of Mark, should be up later today. I'm planning to read all of Mark, along with the corresponding sections of Matthew and Luke. A harmony of the Gospels will help me find them. In the past, I have used the harmony in the Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary. (I know there are others, but I don't know if they are different.) May God bless our study of His precious Word.
@Everyone: LBJ or Shannon is trying to locate SIRI. Does anyone remember those names, or have any contact with them? She posted an email address on Final Events.
Clydia has had a setback. She had to go in for emergency surgery for a tear in her colon. She is now wearing a colostomy bag. It is amazing how she has been able to hang on as long as she has. 😞
Charlie is back to her old playful self and even going to church with us this morning. 😀
My friend Charlie is back to normal as far as I know. My neighbor Joe is still in and out of the hospital. And my husband's sister Clydia just got off a ventilator and is in a rehab center. She also has kidney problems. She and Joe have pretty critical health issues. They could each go downhill overnight.
MarilynSDA, how are they doing?
An ambulance and fire truck just came to our neighbor's house next door. Joe was taken to the same hospital our friend Charlie is at. He had a probable heart attack. She has sepsis. They both need prayer right now. Can you pray? And if you know of other praying people, or if you know of a prayer chain, can you let them know?
Thanks, John, for the advice.
MarilynSDA, Sorry for being so slow to see your note. The garden is doing fairly well. Spinach and brassicas continue to give us fresh greens from time to time and they are growing more rapidly as the days get longer and warmer. I did an experiment with kolrabi this winter, with several plants outside under floating "row cover" and three in the greenhouse. Those outside were not as dark green but grew more compactly than those in the greenhouse. We haven't eaten any of them yet. Maybe this week we'll try them. I'd encourage you to start small with a cold frame or even just fleece for winter protection next fall. If you like it enough, an unheated greenhouse might be for you. You might even start a cold frame for early spring planting this spring. There are so many options these days!
Please pray for a very serious situation. I cannot explain the details on here. Let me just say that Satan is in the middle of it wanting to destroy multiple families. God knows the details. Just come to Him in prayer asking for His mercy, deliverance and protection. 😮
John, how is your garden going? I have not started anything yet. It is still cold and we do not have a greenhouse. I am now well underway with the Master Gardener course. In fact, our study this week is partly about greenhouses.
Here is something you can share with other groups. This is a great message from a Sunday pastor with a PHD! 😄 https://youtu.be/0RORHGSsj1s?si=3KZUdqmcnBp4svOF
Amen, John! I wish we could set up a greenhouse, but then, we would become more permanently ingrained in this place. I want to move to a more country-like setting. In the meantime, we plant our 5 big raised planter boxes in the Spring with all sorts of things. We live in Southeastern Washington and have a long growing season here. My husband does not help with the planting, but he helps with the watering, harvesting and canning.
@MarilynSDA, You are not alone in longing for spring. My wife is an avid gardener, so I'm happily involved. We garden all year long! At the moment, some is under lights, some in windows, and some outside under cover or in the greenhouse. It's wonderful to work with plants, cooperating with our Creator!
I am so looking forward to warmer weather so I can start my garden in the window.
I just finished the Orientation (Tuesday) and Zoom meeting (not in person due to weather) for the Master Gardener program in our area. My 1st class will be in 2 weeks. I am excited, and a little nervous (butterflies). Of course these are normal feelings for something totally new. Does anyone on here like to garden? And if you do, what is your specialty?
@MarilynSDA thank you so much!! ☺️
There is power in the name of Jesus.
@BeautifulMeadow: I listened to the testimony of this converted imam (Muslim leader), and I think that his story can help you. https://youtu.be/DRXrIMbwK6U?si=9HOeQZ49_MCtPJ2j
"Look upon Jesus, sinless is He. Father, impute His life unto me. My life of scarlet, my sin and woe, cover with His life whiter than snow." Look up the lyrics to this song called "Cover With His Life." It pretty much says it all.
Instead of focusing on how bad you are, focus on how good God is. The devil wants you to focus on yourself so that you lose sight of God's love for you. If I focused on myself all the time I could become very depressed. But I know that God is fighting for me and that He will help me have the victory over sin in my life. Yes, I need to examine myself, but then I will refocus my gaze upon Jesus.
The devil wants to you to feel shame and unworthiness. Perhaps you should read the words of God in John 3 to prove that He loved you enough to send His own son into the world to die for you so that you may have eternal life. Think about that.. A God Who loved you so much that he was willing to give up His only child so that you could eventually be able to live with Him forever.
I am listening to and watching off and on a beautiful video on YouTube as I have been working on my review verses. It is called "FOREST 4K 🌲 American Nature Relaxation Film - Peaceful Relaxing." A drone is videotaping in action (with pleasant music and forest sounds) forests, wild animals, waterfalls, streams, mountain paths, and so forth. It is a lovely way to get yourself into a mindset to allow the entrance of the Holy Spirit into your mind to influence your thinking.
@marilyn thank you so much! it helps knowing I'm not alone. every time I start to pray, I feel great shame and unworthiness. do you know any verses that talk about praying even though we're ashamed?
As far as the marijuana goes, surrender that problem completely to God. Put it in His hands. We are not strong enough to stand up against some temptations. So just give it to Him, believing that He will deliver you from the hold it has on you.
The best thing I can tell you for now is to just keep turning back to God. Even if you do not feel like praying. You do not always have to kneel, but talk to Him through the day, as to a friend who might be listening over your shoulder while you do your chores. He wants to hear from us even when we are sad or angry. Do not give up on Him. He will keep coming back and knocking on the door of your heart, and will come in to sup with you if you let Him in.
We have all backslid at one time or another. I struggled really badly after we lost a daughter in 1985 to bronchial pneumonia. She was 3 1/2 years old. I didn't really tell God to go away, but I did not invite Him into my life like before. And I have struggled with that apathy off and on for years. But I will assure you that Bible Memory has really encouraged me, and helped me grow as a Christian. Just the associations I have made on these Message Walls has helped me a lot. I have people I can talk to, and share things with them that I do not feel open to sharing with my friends or family. We do not always agree about things, but we are all after the same thing: a closer walk with the Lord.
Thanks for asking, BeautifulMeadow. I would love to help you with this! You would probably be surprised just how much your church family would be willing to surround and encourage you during your struggle. We have all been there! Not in the same way, but in one way or another. The devil is like a small yippy dog biting at your ankles. He wants your attention and is willing to bite you to get it!
@MarilynSDA
I'm wondering if you've ever back slid, and if so, how did you return to Christ? And if not, do you have any advice? I was so close to the Lord about 6 months ago, now I find it hard to pray and read my Bible. I'm struggling with cannabis (marijuana) and feel too ashamed to pray. Through God's grace, I was able to quit for almost 4 months, then in a moment of weakness gave in. Now I can't seem to crawl back out of the mire. I'm too ashamed to ask my church family for help or advice, so I thought you might have some pearls of wisdom. Thank you
@BeautifulMeadow: What is your question? You can ask me on Final Events SDA if you prefer. 🙂
@MarilynSDA I'm doing alright, how about yourself? I also have a question for you
How are you doing today? 😌🙏
I just wanted to know if this group was active.
Hello, MarilynSDA. Happy Sabbath. I'm not sure I understand your question.
Hi, are you still wanting this group to become active?
@janetb: Final Events SDA is the 3rd or 4th group from the top of the group leaderboard. Once you find us, either say hello or email me at 3riversent@gmail.com. 🖐😊
Final Events how to connect?
Matthew 7:24-25: "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."
I'm already a part of that group lol 😄 I'm working on the God's promises collection
@Beautiful: Well, I don't want to take you away from this group (I have joined 17 as well), but if you would like to join Final Events SDA (easy to find), I would love to share with you the collections that the Holy Spirit and I have developed. I have also downloaded the entire KJV Bible. It would be nice to have someone else to talk to other than kids. Haha! 😄
@Marilyn Yes, I saw Bible Memory on YouTube through the Hide It in Your Heart channel and thought I'd give it a try. I also want to study and memorize scripture "to show myself approved unto God". I was recently baptized into the SDA church and am so happy that God led me to His Sabbath truth, and my new church family
@Beautiful: Welcome! Are you also new to Bible Memory?
