Often in the Gospel of John, in the NIV translation, Jesus reminds the disciples to keep His words.
Keep is a military term meaning to guard (from loss or injury) properly by keeping the eye upon it.
In the Hebrew it means to hedge about, to guard, protect, attend to, observe and watch over.
That is how valuable God's Word is and by memorising or speak it out loud each day, we begin to value His Word more and more.
I have taken up His yoke upon me that I may find rest for my soul 😉
