Amy, Bible memorization doesn't need to be competitive, but, I'll pray you'll put the time you need in to memorize the fidelis verses. Some weeks are harder than others so don't get discouraged is you run into a rough week or two... just keep at it.
OK, so I’m challenged by our Fidelis conversation this morning! I’m in. Pray for me. This has always been my weakness & I’m not a competitive person so I’m depending upon the Holy Spirit to move me!
Bob good job! if you have any questions let us know.
congrats Betty on reaching Level 86!
unfortunately I'm memorizing in the NET Bible, so I can't use the purpose verses. Just finishing lesson 10. With the pre lesson and a few added verses to the beginning and/or end of the assigned verses (and 1 Peter 1:21 because I misread the 2 Peter reference as 2 Peter 1:21 and Gen 3:15 ... because we need it anyway.. added In up to 51 verses (34 passages).
Eric did it! congrats on reaching level 86!!!
welcome Brandon, Jessica, David, Emilee, Frank and Austinto our Fidelis Bible Memory Group
you are very welcome! I still have some more categories to do! thanks for the encouragement to get them done!
Thanks Eric for uploading verses by category! That saved a lot of time to do it myself.
just letting you all know that we have more and more verse collections by category now uploaded to fidelis project community here in Bible Memory App. the first 22 lessons of Scripture verses (by category) have been uploaded. More coming soon. I will keep all the verses by lesson # too, which is extremely helpful when going through the course, but for you graduates, we believe the categories will be more helpful long term. :-) Enjoy
or maybe the system is sharp enough to see that same verse is in a category and in a lesson and only counts it once. which I like better! so maybe it will just stay at 229 or 230
This week is a week of giving THANKS. I'm thankful for all of you and for your love of God's Word. Your willingness to store up HIS word in your heart! Just letting you know I have started adding the Fidelis Categories. Have uploaded Bible and Sovereignty so far. This will double the total number of verses. Because you can learn them in their LESSON # category, AND you can also learn them in their TOPICal category. So instead of 229 or 230, it will be possible to now have 458 or 460 in the group of Fidelis Project Community.
This discipline of keeping these verses current is VERY HELPFUL in so many ways. I'm sure you all can enumerate and describe them too. They come out in conversations, prayers, and even when teaching or preaching.
this morning, upon rising I had only a handful of verses due, perhaps 6 or 7, it only took a couple minutes, and was awarded 25 points. I had about 15 minutes before top of the hour, so just decided to review as many as I could even though they were not technically due yet. was able to finish 45 or so. was thanking God for Fidelis and it’s challenge to memorize and review scripture. am thankful for all of you! and for our community. may we keep in step with the Spirit!
yes Betty is a memory verse warrior in addition to keeping Fidelus verses current she also has over 1100 total verses current you can find her in the total points list around 310,000 in level 81! she is a great model for us all!
welcome Dove (Yan) laughing with you that we don’t have the shortest Scripture! 😜 thanks for posting!!
Thank you, Eric! And thank you, Dan for hard work. Wow, Betty is leading ahead of everyone. Proud of you, Sister. 👸
All scripture is breathed out from God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that man of God may be completely, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
For no prophesy was ever produced by the will of men, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21
Jesus wept. We don’t have the shortest scripture to memorize? 😺
still working on the categories 👀
recently noticed inside the app that you can get 25 bonus points (for fun) by 1) being current on all your verses AND 2) reviewing a verse from your list after 4 hours of non activity
is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, like a hammer that breaks the rocks in pieces? shout out to Taylorsville Mike, who is on level 56, has been faithful keeping 400 /- verses current! prayers going up for Jeremy and Lindsay who are on road trip back home having dropped off their first born at university. also prayers for Brent as he recovers from recent surgery. Remembering that the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart!
Happy Birthday David !! I’m a couple hours early, 🙌🙏
oh, congrats Betty for memorizing and keeping 1000 verses current. you can find her in level 80. Betty B also look at rankings of most verses, she’s way up there with around 1005 verses pretty cool, congrats sister, very inspiring!
the goal for Fidelis students is also to have these verses memorized by category, so in the coming week or so, I’ll be adding new collections to our group, the same verses but all grouped into their specific theme/category. for example Bible, God’s Faithfulness, salvation , God’s part, etc eventuality hopefully more and more of us will be having a rhythm of reviewing all the verses no less frequently that once per month! keeping the sword sharp!
Beth. how can a young man keep his way pure, by guarding it according to Gods word.
that lock in feature is really helpful. helps me to steward the verses better. if I’m having more difficulty with a verse I increase the locked in frequency. the default system of memory app tool is to decrease frequency, but I have found personally, that decreasing frequency beyond 30 days only seems to loosen the grip I have on those verses. each of us is probably different, so the feature is very flexible! happy memorizing and reviewing. Deuteronomy 6:6,7
thankful for our sister Betty who continues to lead the way for all of us in setting that example of daily keeping all of those Fidelis verses current.
not sure about the rest of you, but keeping all the verses current at least once a month by locking them in is certainly a challenge, but at the same time is very rewarding. and these Fidelis verses are awesome because they are firmly centered on the meta narrative of scripture! the big story that ties it all together! anyway, I know this is a tough challenge, but simple consistent rhythms help and sometimes I need to just put in the extra time to stay current, but it’s worth it! never regret it
Proverbs 31:6 “Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress.”
Isaiah 55:11 “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
psalms 119:10,11 “with my whole heart I seek thee, may I not wander from your commandments …,” just thinking of you keep on sharpening the sword!!
Fidelis community mtg in 20 minutes! see some of you there! 😎
hey Avery! you’re welcome! hope you all had a great week of celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
welcome Avery! ask if you have questions. May His Word dwell on you richly…
may the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another in accord with Christ Jesus so that you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
may the Gid of hope you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope
and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ
the best thing to help disciples grow, including ourselves is to read and memorize and meditate on and apply Gods Word! keep at it, encourage one another, spur one another on, it’s profitable for teaching, correcting, rebuking, and training in righteousness
wow just noticed the chat 😀
hey all, Hope the Word is filling you with His hope and joy as you grow closer to Him each day!! I just want to encourage you that He made you with the ability to learn His Word! Give your heart and mind to it daily, and it will sink in!! Repitition is key to mastery. keep each new verse in your daily repetition group for 30 days. then back it up to once every two or three weeks for a while until you are for sure you have it then back it down to monthly!
happy Thanksgiving. Been a while since I posted. hope each of you are enjoying the fruit of using this app to help memorize the Living Active Word! Godspeed!
greetings WORDmeisters! may His WORD dwell in you richly! today I get privilege of helping with a new Fidelis cohort!
Hey Eric! Thanks for putting these verses up and organizing them. I also prefer the sets of ten. It’s easier to navigate through when they’re in smaller groups.
i like the sets of ten. helps to create small goals and accomplish them
our total community group stats plummeted to 720 but now it’s a true read and not any duplicates are being credited inside the group, though they still get credit every time you review them in the general rankings if that matters to you
I did that. if any of you had used franks picks instead of the lesson collections you will still have Dr Franks picks collection in My Verses
franks pics are just duplicates of all the verses in the 7 collections
I’m thinking of removing Frank’s picks. anybody object? all the Fidelis lesson collections are completely updated
all of the Fidelis numbered sets are up to date! still updating Franks picks collection
do you all like having the verses grouped into 10 lessons or are you ok with them just being in one big list? or do you care? I’m going to refresh and update soon
well finals have been scheduled for this coming week. God speed! thanks to all for your camaraderie in the WORD
please feel free to invite Fidelis students in your cohort and also family and friends.
haven’t posted in a while, I just noticed that in the ALL groups listing our group has climbed to 1102 verses current…good job! thanks to each of you who have contributed. pretty cool. Dave Linn and are finishing up session 65 this week, then the final. gulp. 😄
Welcome Quincytee! Glad to have you in our group. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Blessings.
well now that my cohort leader and David Linn are approaching the finish line, it's really time for me to start focusing on all of these Fidelis verses. All along I have also been working on other verses too, but I'm going to start focusing tightly on these verses and reviewing them all regularly, all the new ones daily and the rest of Fidelis verses weekly. we only have about 10 weeks to go to the finish line. This has certainly been a challenging part of the master's course but also one of the favorite parts. How about the rest of you, how's it going?
hey everyone, please note that Fidelis Lessons 56 - 65 have been UPLOADED , POSTED, ADDED to our group. So have at them. There are NO MORE LESSONS, the Fidelis Masters Degree has 65 lessons. So now 100% of the verses have been UPLOADED for your enjoyment, challenge and sheer learning privilege and pleasure. God speed as you MASTER them all. and may they in turn MASTER you! :-)
thanks Dan for saying something on the message wall! :-) Seriously. this wall is for everyone. not just me
Thanks for putting all these verses here Eric!
just saying hey to you all since I haven’t posted for a while. Have you tasted the goodness of the Word of God? a tasted the powers of the age to come? How great is our God? Hope each of you enjoyed Easter celebrating the one who died and was raised!!!!!
Hey, Hey, Hey! Good news! Verses for Lessons 46 - 55 have now been uploaded in our Group Verses! God's best to you as you hide HIS WORD in your heart.
I’ll be posting soon the next ten lessons of verses, lessons 46-55
way to go Fidelis Community!! in the list of ALL groups we are now listed as having 516 verses current! each one of us contributes to that score! if 20 of us increase verses current by one verse that group score goes up by 20 points!!
anybody have any questions? how to use this Bible memory app? with Fidelis? I’m glad to help.
and seriously, this message wall is for ALL of us, for EACH of us, for it to really be a community, it takes multi way conversations. Good job Betty B and David L for your faithfulness in Bible Memory. Your example is an inspiration to all of us.
In Fidelis, we like to LOCK Review frequency to DAILY for all our new verses for at least 30 days. Then we can change them to weekly or every 2 weeks or 3 weeks or monthly. I still like to keep them LOCKED, I've noticed that I need to review them at least monthly if not every 3 weeks to keep them LOCKED into my brain! :-) the Bible Memory App gives you full control over review frequency! If you don't take initiative then the system will do it's own thing, quickly lowering the frequency, which I have found I don't do as well with. (personally)
Welcome to BH, Jordan, Terry! :-) Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. :-)
any questions?
what tips have you found to be helpful?
God is good
hoping each of you are enjoying His Word! How can we pray for you?
Happy New Year! Did you know that each one of you contributes to our GROUP's score with all the other groups in BibleMemory.com in here you can find the list of all the groups and their score AND how we stack up. :-) Currently we have 381 verses current. (as a group) I'm not sure how exactly they come up with that, but we all contribute.
completed verses from sessions 1-33 so far, mid term is just around the corner 😬
for those following Fidelis schedule we are in lesson 31 this week, so those verses in sessions 31-35 are front and center
Welcome Morgan to our Bible memory community! (the Music gal from Texas!!)
I’ve noticed for me personally that the drop off from daily for 30 days to monthly is too much, so I’m going to stagger it since this app lets us do it. I’m going to attempt daily for 30 days then weekly for 30 days then every two weeks for 30 days then I’m going to review every three weeks indefinitely. how about you???
this message wall is for all of us!! it’s our community space. how’s this app working for you?
Hey all, so the verses for all of the first 35 Fidelis Lessons have been ADDED to this Memory Group "Fidelis Project Community".
Remember that we encourage you to keep a new verse in your daily review cycle for at least 30 consecutive days, and then when you are ready you can drop it down to no less than Review ONCE per Month.
Pre-Course) Joshua 1:8, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21
Lesson 1) Deuteronomy 04:35, Proverbs 16:1, Proverbs 21:30
Lesson 2) Job 42:2, Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:17
Lesson 3) Numbers 23:19, Psalms 033:10-11, Isaiah 42:8
Lesson 4) Luke 24:27, 2 Timothy 4:1b-2, 2 Timothy 4:3-5
Lesson 5) Luke 24:44, Acts 3:24,25
those numbers in front of the verse are the Lesson #'s sorry, it looks cluttered, I'll figure out better way to do that next week
Not sure how to use Announcement feature. But wanted to let you all know that starting October 6th, we'll be reviewing verses from 5 lessons weekly. So Lessons 1-5 next Wednesday. Then 6-10 October 13th. Etc This is to prepare us to be ready for mid-term exam with Frank in December when we get to Lesson 35.
Welcome Lane Corley!!!! So glad to have you in our community. Blessings. More later.
have you noticed that our Fidelis Project Community is creeping up the charts? Together (it says) we have 333 verses current in the long list of Bible Memory Groups. Please feel free to invite others to join our Scripture Memorization (Spiritual Foundations) Group.
