Online Bible Memory Group
Group Leader's Guide
Goal
Memorize Scripture with a group of friends or followers online. Popular Bible memory group ideas include memorizing chapters or books of the Bible, verses on a particular topic, or verses to accompany a book or other Bible study.
Format
- Start a group online, on your blog, website, or through social media. Regularly post updates, letting your followers know what you are memorizing that day or week.
- Group members will use The Bible Memory App (free) to review verses throughout the week.
- You can also get group discounts on Bible Memory PRO.
Preparation
- Choose the passage(s) or verses you want to memorize together.
- Choose a time period for your group (e.g. one month, a season, a year). Or, leave your group open-ended for people to join anytime (e.g. to accompany a book or topical study).
- Create a group in The Bible Memory App to easily facilitate and track group memorization while giving your members tools to succeed.
- Open The Bible Memory App.
- Go to Groups on the home screen.
- Select the Plus icon, then “New Group”.
- Enter a group name, description and upload a picture for your group, if desired.
- Use the “Invite Others” link on your group page in the Bible Memory App to invite friends and social media followers to join your group.
- Post a link to your Bible Memory group page on your website and on any social networks so your followers can easily find and join your group.
- The URL for your group page is included in the “Invite Others” message. Send it to yourself via email or text to get the link.
Lead Your Group
- Publish blog posts and social media posts reminding followers of what you are memorizing that day or week.
- Use the Message Wall on your Bible Memory group page to encourage group members and post reminders of which verses should be memorized.
- Offer a prize for the member that stays current on the most number of group verses (optional).
