personally, I wouldn’t say I have a crazy memory or some special ability. you can try rote memorization which I used to memorize up to chapter 21. personally however, many average joes who have learned a lot with a concept called a “memory palace”. where you tie each verse to a “loci” which is something you can remember like for proverbs 24:17 I picture grabbing a dog and getting bit. each of these loci are in its own “room” which is just like a location. I make my rooms 5 verses long for easy placement recall.
Hi, priscilla! Sorry to hear you're feeling stuck. No matter what way you go about memorization, it will require patience and persistence. Though it's definitely true that different methods work better for different people. What have you tried so far?

I have been memorizing the book of Proverbs for about 2 years now and have learned memory palaces are the way to go for anything past Proverbs 9
It seems to me that passages with clearer logical or narrative flow are better suited for memorization. Still, any part of Scripture is worth intensive study and meditation (with or without memorization intent).
I'm not long-term memorizing them, but since I'm setting them for annual review (for short-term memory recitation once a year), it looks like I've memorized a lot.

totally agree. happy to discuss memorizing proverbs. I’m finding it very challenging especially all the individual proverbs.

Proverbs is an interesting book to read/study/memorize large pieces of. There are long, cohesive sections (like in chapters 1-9), but there's no apparent continuity it the middle half. Each isolated verse is a nugget of rich heavenly wisdom! Yet it often has no relation to the verses before and after it. I'm trying to build a habit of thinking about one or two verses from Proverbs 10-29 each day. (Just started... we'll have to see how it goes.)

is this group open for anyone or only for specific people? I'm working on memorizing James, chapters 1-2, Matthew 15, and a host of various other individual verses, but I've always wanted to memorize Proverbs. thanks & God bless! ☝🏼️
I use the NIV version. I don't understand why there are so many versions of the bible out there. It's just redundant.
URGENT!! I seriously have to WARN YOU!! The KJV BIBLE has been CHANGED! (Look up the #MandelaEffect) The Lords Prayer in the KJV is not correct anymore in the KJV (how we remember "tresspasses" changed to "debts" and "those who tresspass against us" changed to "our debtors" and "ON earth" in Mt6,10 changed to "IN earth" - look it up!!!) and John8:32 has changed, as well as Isaiah11,6 changed from "Lion and Lamb will live together" to "Wolve(s) and lamb will live together"
