Hello there! :)

With so many things going on in today's world... I believe we can certainly agree that we're living in some scary times.  

God's Word is ALWAYS the answer to everything... He gave us His Holy Word so that we might know that Christ paid the prices for our sins.  For Christians, His Word is also our guide, comfort, assurance...and our answer for EVERYTHING.

In the end times, we know there will be many earthquakes and perilous times...but we have the end of the story given to us in Revelation.  God is and will always be victorious.  Keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ... He's coming back soon.

This week's Bible Memory Verse Focus on HCH is Ephesians 2:8,9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. – Ephesians 2:8,9 kjv

I hope everyone is doing well this week.  Last week's verse seemed to be an extra challenge for me for some reason... I kept messing up each time I practiced. But, I FINALLY conquered the challenge! lol  

Don't give up!  It's easy to set Bible reading and memorization aside...but when we understand that it's a true priority in our lives and necessary to be successful Christians and leaders (as wives, moms, teachers, in business, etc.) then we will tackle the task in our "daily" lives and stick with it better.

*Having a set time of each day to read and memorize Scripture really helps as well.

This week's verse to focus on is Psalms 1:2.  It's a shorter verse, so this will give you plenty of time to review the previous verses as well.

One of the many purposes of the holy scriptures is being able to lead others to Christ.  Mark 1:14-15 says, "Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."

Repent and believe is echoed throughout the old and new testaments, and while there are amazing verses that succinctly define this (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, etc.) it  is of great value to be able to back up and really define the reason for, and necessity of, our own redemption.

I've added 8 new categories under the word Salvation.  This is not to suggest salvation is an 8 part process.  The point is to encourage us to think about definitive verses that would help us define our blessed hope to unbelievers.  The categories I've entered are:

The fact of sin.

The condition of the sinner.

The penalty of sin.

The penalty must be paid.

The penalty paid by Christ.

Salvation is a free gift.

We must receive Christ.

Assurance of salvation.

I only listed one verse for each category - for starters!  I want to encourage each of you to let me know when you find a verse that fits well into any of these categories.  My hope and prayer is that over time we will become so well versed on the topic of salvation that we could point out numerous verses to unbelievers.   

By the way, the categories I listed and the one verse I listed for each category came off a scrap piece of paper that fell out of a recycle cart I was emptying (I'm a garbage/recycle driver).  It was a sunny day, which is rare around here, and I went to pick up this one piece of paper that had flown out of the truck, and it was this amazingly old typewriter written flow chart that looked like it had stuck to somebody's bulletin board for four decades.
