I was so happy to hear today that we have five additional alternates from FEAST! Fifteen National competitors, if they all come - that is unbelievable!!! =D

Sorry you guys couldn't make it, Isabelle! :( We had a great time! By the grace of God, I ranked 3rd in Seniors this year and Courtney ranked 15th! =) Then there was Havilah Kirsch, Katherine, Sarah and Christian Hurlin, my siblings Brianna and Philip, and Danyelle White, and, of course, you!! AND there's a possibility that there will be more if they do alternates this year! :D
So sorry we couldn't make it yesterday. I really, really wanted to, but my parents just couldn't make it work. I guess I'll have to be content with typing to you all for now, at least until Nationals. :)

Ah, good question! I am fairly sure the answer is no; it has been that way in previous years. They'll probably put some more info up on the FAQ page about that soon. But unless the rules have changed (which I doubt), they will only ask us the exact references that we were assigned.
Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure they will also save the longer passages e.g. the one you mentioned for Semi-Finals and Finals. I'm just going off of experience for this observation - the longest passage I've been asked in an oral test was just a little more than one card long. We still need to know them for the written, though. :)
Ok, so I was wondering if you could help me with this, since you have been to nationals before. Do you know if they may ask you one verse out of the middle of the passage. For example, since one of our passages is Ezekiel 19: 1-14, on the oral recitation will they ask us, "what is Ezekiel 19:5?"
Just wondering if you would know.

I think my mom received it, if it was talking about having meetings for national contestants. I'm not sure if I will be able to come to any, since we would have drive for several hours and then get a hotel room. :( I'll have to see how it works out.

@Justin - For Locals, I usually just use the Sword Study cross-references (there's a whole heap of those in the Senior SS anyways so I don't really need anything more.) :P

@Courtney, no, they haven't. But they haven't said anything different, and besides anything more than 50 questions on those verses would be hard to come up with in my opinion.

@Marquita - I already knew a lot of the verses from previous years - 27 of them, to be exact. :) Also, I'm used to memorizing rather fast in Nationals.

@Josh - The system for these Bible Bee groups only counts the Bible Bee verses. Similar to what happens in non-Bible Bee groups - they only count the verses that the whole group is memorizing together. I myself have 160 verses memorized on here - only 34 of them are BB though. :)
There's some kind of glitch with the ranking in our group. It says I only have 4 verses current, and I have 428.
They haven't done it since 2009, and back then there was no real Sword Study (only a short study guide) and no word studies or anything.
When was the last time they did an Old Testament book?
I think it's going to be neat to study. :) Something different, too, as we haven't done Hebrew before. :P
