@Everyone: I hope your Preparation Day is productive as you prepare for the true Sabbath day of rest. Do not let anything distract you from getting ready to be in the presence of the Lord for the sacred hours of the Seventh day Sabbath. The devil has already tried over the last several days to cause me grief and stress, and steal my blessing. However, a special blessing is in store for me tonight. I get to participate in a sing-along Handels Messiah! How I miss those days when I sang the long score every Christmas for years with our local Symphony Choir and Orchestra.
Some of my review verses this morning: Romans 10:12-14 KJV - "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"
❤ Brethren, let us make good use of the few hours we have before us to prepare for the blessed Sabbath day of the Lord, the day of rest that God made for man. Genesis 2:2-3 KJV - "And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made." Happy Sabbath! 🙏🙂🌺
🌺 Happy Sabbath, everyone! 🙏❤
I am thankful today for our good health, a loving church family, the blessings we take for granted such as plenty to eat, my sweet cat Pepper (14 now!), and God the Father Who loves us so much that He gave us Jesus to die for our sins so that we will not have to. And I love and appreciate all of the beautiful creation that God gave us to enjoy. Be blessed everyone! God loves you.
Verses from my review that put trials in perspective: Psalm 119:71, 75-76 KJV - "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Thy statutes. I know, O LORD, that Thy judgments are right, and that Thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. Let, I pray Thee, Thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to Thy word unto Thy servant."

Memorizing the word of God is a tremendous blessing! Here are some review verses from this morning which include a few of my thoughts: Proverbs 28:2, 4-5 KJV - "For the transgression of a land [the US] many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge [Trump] the state thereof shall be prolonged [God is holding back the winds of strife until His Saints are sealed]. They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things."
Hi Marilyn, how have you been going? I’ve been revising chapters I have already memorised and am about to start memorising Psalm 145. Which verses have you been working on? 😊
Hi everyone! How are you doing with your memorizing? Are you continuing to instill the word of God in your minds? 😲🙏
🌺 Happy Sabbath everyone! 🙏😄🍂🍃
Some of my favorite verses: Proverbs 30:24-28 KJV - "There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces."
Our worship time was so special. Besides the subject matter in the SS lesson and sermon, the man that tells the children's story had some friends bring their pet opossum for his Creature Feature. It was so fun to see that beautiful little animal! We always eagerly anticipate what interesting topic he will share. He has brought a small raccoon, a baby owl, and a pine (gopher) snake recently. What a blessing his presentations have been. And he knows all the Latin names!
My husband and I have duties at church today. I will be leading both song services and he will be doing Superintendent remarks. It is becoming cool and foggy here in the Northwest. I do not think that the roads will be icy yet, but the days are coming. We have a 40 minute drive to church. Happy Sabbath!
Amen. Another recent memory verse: Psalm 20:6-9 KJV - "Now know I that the LORD saveth His anointed; He will hear him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Save, LORD: let the King hear us when we call."
thank you for sharing Marilyn 😊
Also: Colossians 3:8-13 KJV - "But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."
I had the delight of receiving counsel again through a few of my favorite memory verses this morning: Psalm 118:4-8 KJV - "Let them now that fear the LORD say, that His mercy endureth forever. I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

Thanks Grace. We have our challenges, but then, doesnt everyone?
thank you for sharing Marilyn! very thought provoking video :) hoping you and your family are doing well ❤️
Why do beavers rest EVERY Sabbath? video on YouTube. A strange silence is observed over the Sabbath (Saturday). A hush falls over all their activities at sundown every Friday evening without fail. And this is regarding every beaver around the world, regardless of the season. Sunday mornings, they begin their work again. https://youtu.be/uZ-Sz7fLyf0?si=NeLvyc8eRwzBo8W9
Thank you for your prayers for my daughter. Her situation is beginning to change in a positive way. And I can see a way out for our son as well. But please keep praying for them. Remember the scripture, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land," from 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV).
I am asking people to pray for our 37 year old daughter. She is in a very difficult situation that she will have a hard time getting out of. And our 46 year old son needs a job. He is living with us at the moment. Thanks in advance for your prayers.
I got outside and collected some herb seeds today, picked some small tomatoes, and even found some remaining bean pods. I made a tomato mixture for bruschetta for lunch tomorrow. Our health is pretty good right now. My husband has type one diabetes and struggles with that a bit. I am still trying to lose 15 more pounds to reach my weight loss goal.
Hi Marilyn, very busy at the moment! I haven’t had much time to come on here to work on my memorisation but once November comes I will be finished uni this semester so I will have some spare time on hands. How have you and your family been? I hope you’ve all been well ❤️
I have several things to do on this Preparation Day: dishes and cooking, some yard work, and last minute bits and pieces. What kind of things do you have to do to prepare for the Sabbath of the Lord?
How are you and your family doing, Grace? ❤
happy sabbath Marilyn 🕊️ God bless you and your family 💕
🌺 Happy Sabbath everyone! 🙏❤
2 John 1:6 KJV - "And this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it."
Isaiah 59:17, 18 KJV - "For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon His head; and He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompence to His enemies; to the islands He will repay recompence."
I love the comforting message of these verses: Psalm 27:9-14 KJV say, "Hide not Thy face far from me; put not Thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. Teach me Thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
🌺 Happy Sabbath everyone! 🙏❤🙏
Fountainview Academy choir and orchestra (from Canada) will be live at the Village SDA Church in College Place, Washington tonight. The program starts at 7 pm and may be LIVE on Blue Mountain TV or the HOPE Channel. You may also be able to see it on Youtube and Facebook. They have excellent music program! Then tomorrow, John Bradshaw will be speaking during the Gospel Outreach program (same church). Hope you can make it!
Ephesians 4:14-15 KJV - "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"
❤ Happy Sabbath everyone! 😄
Well, I finally have a new phone and will be setting it up like I like over the next few days. The last several weeks have been a trying time for me: broken BM app on my phone (and on the computer site somewhat), broken phone, painful ugly stye under my left eye (had to go to my eye doctor for and Rx, and to an urgent care doctor for additional help). To top it off, the ABO may be causing my uncomfortable abodominal problems. There is more, but no need to bore you with any more of my woes. Hopefully your life is running much smoother than mine! But I am grateful for the presence of the Lord through it all. He is truly the best companion one can have!
Memory verses for today: 1 Peter 4:16, 19 KJV - "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator."
The devil never lets up. He does try to "wear out" the saints with continuous oppression. I have been having pain in my left eye for 2 days. It turns out that I have a clogged oil gland in my lower lid. Now I have to get on a prescription and do hot and cold treatments, etc. So, when I am tempted to become depressed, here are some good verses I like to remember. James 1:2-4 KJV say, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
Yay!! Excellent news Marilyn 😊 so happy to hear it’s back to normal. Praise God
My BM phone app is back to normal due to the hard work the Developer put in on my behalf. I waited patiently and made some changes of my own (to my page), and I am back up and running. Praise God!
Sabbath is finally here in the Great Northwest! I really cooked up a storm today. I made the lasagna, a green bean dish with potatoes (fresh pole beans from my garden), a tuna salad, corn on the cob and a veggie burger dinner for us three (my son, husband and myself). I picked tomatoes off of my vines today, and with the ones that I had already picked, I made a homemade sauce that cooked for almost 5 hours. We will try it out on friends who are coming over for lunch tomorrow. 🤤
Happy Sabbath! (it is already the Sabbath where I am)! that’s excellent news Marilyn 😊 it’s very nice of the developer to work so hard to help you with the issue. Enjoy your Italian! 🍝
Happy Preparation day! Before I awoke this morning, I was dreaming about cooking down some tomatoes to make spaghetti sauce. I am planning to make a lasagna with the batch. I guess I had better get to it. 😄
Thank you for your prayers. The BM developer and I have exchanged several emails back and forth between us. Things are almost back to normal. He has worked very diligently to restore my site back to normal and I am very grateful.
Not yet. I have an ongoing dialogue with the Developer though. We are trying different things like dumping most of the extra verses that I have not memorized. Having the entire KJV Bible downloaded now bogs down the system, and it will not sync well. It is strange because I have had that downloaded for years, and it is just now having problems.
thank you for sharing Marilyn 😊 is your app working on your phone again?
Irregardless of what the devil does to try to intimidate me (and others), I am established in the faith and settled in my beliefs, just as it says in 1 Peter 5:8-10 KJV - "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you."
I cannot work on my verses on my own phone. Something is broken! So pray for me. I have had a hard time the last two days trying to figure out how to keep up with my review verses on here.
Welcome Pr Zeke! Happy memorising 😊 may God bless you!
Thank you Marilyn 😊 it is a great app and will help to bring you closer to Jesus while memorising the Word. I have been able to learn and understand the scriptures I’ve memorised in a way I wouldn’t have by just reading without memorising. I hope others have the same experience ❤️
Good morning everyone! I think the Developer is making positive changes on the leadership board of our Bible Memory app because many people are falling behind reviewing their memory verses. I would like to encourage each of you to try to catch up, and stay up. Do not lose your interest in this app as it may be the only encouragement to someone who needs something positive to focus on as we enter into darker days of evil just ahead. You could be the very light that inspires them to hang on to Jesus. Stay inspired! 🙏😀
Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which was His. “With His stripes we are healed.”. DA 25.1-DA 25.2
thank you for sharing Marilyn! these will certainly help me to memorise!
This is a link for my favorite source of sing-along scripture songs, Patti Valiant. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/RYNWj-pI1PE?si=IyETtaCwgmpWzsqW
This is the Psalm 61 song version that I learned: https://youtu.be/Q79Jt9w5jUc?si=Jk_0CJUKfbOeet7J
You can copy and paste this link to hear the Moses song: https://youtu.be/C2CV4bSIeYI?si=i5Pd7bjGLeJ3mGVy
A couple good songs that I like are: Psalm 61:1-3; and the combination of Daniel 2:20-23 and Revelation 15:3-4 (the song of Moses). You may be able to find them on YouTube.
That is a good tip, I will try writing them out. I have been trying to find songs online to help me remember them but obviously not all portions of scripture have songs for them and I am not musical enough to make some up!
I would not do it the way I have been doing it, that is for sure! I have so many responsibilities that I felt speed learning was the only way I could manage it. But I have come to believe that slowing down and really focusing on individual verses or passages is really the best way to go about it. Take time to really understand what you are learning and what it means to you personally. Write them out as you learn them. Using more senses (sight, speaking and sound) helps you remember things better.
That’s no good you’ve been unwell! at least you were still able to go to your reunion and the camp meeting. I hope you are feeling well again soon! I can see you’ve memorised a lot of scripture! Do you have any tips to help with memorising?
I have memorized so many verses over time, that now I mostly review verses I have already learned. But I am behind on my reviewing because I have been ill for a while, after getting the current strain of covid shortly after July 4th. It was followed by laryngitis, coughing and a weakened voice (which I still have). I am having a difficult time shaking it, probably mostly due to my hectic schedule the last few weeks. I went to my 55th High School Reunion the weekend of the 19th, followed by a camp meeting which I just got back from today. Now I hope to work on my health so I can get back to normal.
Hi Marilyn, I am doing well, how are you? I am currently memorising Revelation Chapter 18 and Isaiah Chapter 53 (which I am making some progress on). How is your memorising going?
Hello Grace. How are you doing? How is your memorizing going?
Part of my memory verses this morning that really spoke to me. Psalm 40:1-2, 4 KJV - "I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies."
Some of my memory verses for today: Ephesians 5:9, 11, 14-16 KJV - "(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil."
A memory verse this afternoon that I have considered very personal for a number of years. Ezekiel 3:17 KJV - "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me."
Hi Marilyn. Thank you for the advice, I will check out the ABC’s on your Group 😊
Hi Grace. I just joined! If you go to my collection called the ABC's of God's Word Collection on FINAL EVENTS SDA, you will find a good sources with SDA subjects. You may get some flack from non-SDAs, but do not be alarmed. The developer has now equipped us with tools to guard the safety of our efforts to spread the true gospel of Jesus Christ. God bless your efforts to be faithful to Jesus. 🖐😀🙏
