The part came today, and only took a little while to fix. Thank you to my hubby and the Lord. :^)
Well, it is warm again. By last night, it was sweltering. I slept on top of the bed imagining I was camping. Haha! And I am sure that tonight will be the same. But things will be looking up soon. The part that my husband is waiting on, to fix the air conditioning, should come today. All my poor cat can do is lounge flat on the bed or the floor, wherever she feels the most breeze from our circulating fans. Bless her heart... She turned 15 today!
Had a nice Sabbath with a close Adventist friend today. Am glad for the rest because the new week is going to be very busy. Will appreciate when my husband gets the air conditioning fixed. It was stifling inside and out today: 97 outside and 89 inside. Horrible! Circulating fans and open windows were our only consolation, besides drinking water and washing our faces. Feel like we are in a 3rd world country. Makes you count your blessings when things are not so rough. We definitely should not take things for granted. Luxuries like air conditioning could disappear overnight!
My review this morning included one of my favorite passages in Psalm 118. Verses 8-14 say, It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me. The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

Besides, we have been told that we should live by a Thus sayeth the Lord. So it is perfectly acceptable for me to answer with a scripture text. Unfortunately, many young people only know how to talk in sporadic short bursts: LOL or a joke or other letters that we do not care to interpret or something else that does not make sense. The English language is langishing while nonsensical jabbering is taking over. We cannot even call it talking or a conversation.
@Angel: I know you do not think you were starting a fight, but maybe you should check your words before you say them, just to be safe. Saying, "Marilyn isn't gonna change beliefs anytime soon," is like a challenge to a duel. But I wanted to reassure you that I have no intention of changing back to an imperfect belief system, that teaches something that Jesus never intended for men to do. They took His words and corrupted them. So, I did not want you to ever think that I could be easily swayed from the Truth. :^)

So you do not have to fear for your future unless you are hanging onto disobedience and indifference. Then, I plead with you to repent and surrender your heart to God before it is too late. Probation will be closing soon. There will be no opportunity to repent after Jesus comes the 2nd time. The secret rapture is a myth. Everyone will have to face the coming tribulation. There will not be 7 years to give you a second chance to repent. Your 2nd chance is NOW! Repent and be converted.
I want to clarify something. I know hellfire is not a place. It is an event. Jesus died for my sins so that I do not have to pay the penalty for them. He died the second death and rose again. The wicked and the disobedient will die the second death and have to pay for their sins because they rejected their Saviour, Jesus Christ. They will receive eternal separation from God and the heavenly beings because they would not be happy among the saved. Their reward will be eternal death. So there will come a day when sin and death and Satan, and all things and creatures that are evil, will be destroyed. They will be ashes under the feet of the redeemed (see Malachi 4:1-3).

Hi Lydia, am glad to hear from you. My husband is doing well. Managing his diabetes. We are almost carless right now. Two cars broken down: one in front of house and one at the house of his friend. And the truck that we are driving has bare rubber tires, so they could go any time. I'll meet you over on our other group and tell you more.

Actually, everyone will understand right before Jesus comes at His second coming. Sunday sacredness and our need for loyalty is being agitated right now. Before long, the end time scenario with plagues etc. will kick in, and then the United States will lead the world in following an enforced Sunday Law. To find out the details of how all of this will take place, get yourself a copy of The Great Controversy. You do not have to believe me, but the book says it all. It will help you prepare for what is coming.
Also, the word forever means that some event will last forever. The destruction of evil (and its followers) will last forever. Smoke going up in the air will ASCEND forever (see Rev 14:11). Do some word studies with a Strong s Concordance so that you can understand what these symbolic terms are saying.
Yes, we are told many many places to fear God. But, just as there are counterfeits of everything that God has created and made, Satan has made the word fear a counterfeit as well. His fear is fright, terror, etc. The fear of God means to respect Him, to believe Him at His word, and to trust Him.
Also, one other point. I would be an agnostic or atheist if I thought that God, Who people claim is loving or a God of love, could permit people to suffer eternally for their sins. That He would smile and laugh about it, and that the resurrected saints would happily go on with life in heaven while their loved ones are suffering in the lake of fire. How ludicrous an idea! This idea is spawned by the Catholic Church, and by their leader, Satan. They came up with all kinds of laws to scare people into staying in the church out of fear. Do not be deceived! Satan is behind many of the strange teachings attached to the Christian faith.

Also, being in the grave can be a description of hell. One cannot escape death until a resurrection. Jesus was in hell, but being divine as well as human, He was able to resurrect Himself. He said, I am the resurrection and the life. He is God. We are in that temporary Hell until we either come up in the first resurrection or the second. The first will be for the righteous. The second for the condemned. They will war on the city of NEW Jerusalem (not the Earthly Jerusalem), will be judged, and destroyed FINALLY by fire and brimstone.
@SonicboomCAM: The modern views of hell contains many errors. The modern teachers say that hell is a place that people are tormented in forever. It is actually an event at the very end, where after a second resurrection (alluded to in Rev 20:5,6 as preceding the second death), the wicked, the disobedient, and the devil and the 1/3 of the angels that followed him, will be burned up. They will be brought to ashes and will never again tempt anyone. They will have been destroyed completely.
One other thing about the hymn, Cover With His Life, I like how AI explains the meaning of justification: It expresses the desire to have the righteousness of Jesus Christ credited to one s account, covering one s sins. The hymn... highlights the concept of justification by faith, where believers are declared righteous through Christ s sacrifice and imputed righteousness, rather than their own merit. I thought this was a very good explanation.
God is merciful. The idea of an ever burning hell is an invention by Satan himself. A terrible terrible lie to scare people into staying in the church, which is not going to help, if they have no relationship with Christ. So, get away from these commandments of men which only serve to continue these abominable beliefs and keep men putting money into their coffers. Go to AmazingFacts.org to find the Truths that will help you get on board the ark (remember in the time of Noah?) that will safely get you home.
So do not think that those events are a great way off. Leaders that are continuing the lie that the righteous will not have to experience tribution, that they will be raptured, will be responsible for the loss of a great many souls. Also, the horrible lie that there is a hell burning beneath us that Satan is in charge of, and that the wicked are suffering even as we speak, has turned many a hoped sinner into a wretched atheist or agnostic. If you believe that Satan will be alive to watch over the suffering in hell, you are greatly mistaken!
Lastly, we will be glorified only when Jesus returns in order to take His living and resurrected saints back to heaven with Him. Yes, He did take some saints that He resurrected at His resurrection, back with Him to heaven at that time. But the vast majority are still in their lot, in their graves, awaiting the resurrection at His 2nd coming. Only then will they be glorified, along with the living righteous. The Earth will be reeling to and fro, with volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc, and great cities will be destroyed. Islands will disappear. The day when those things happen will be very very soon. We are already seeing woes in the land.
God requires us to keep ALL of His commandments. We will be observing His 7th day Sabbath weekly throughout eternity. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another [monthly], and from one sabbath to another [weekly], shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. That is an amazing thought! See Isaiah 66:23.
We are sanctified by obeying His word. It is a complete surrender to His will. He has said to keep His commandments, even as He has kept the commandments of His Father. See John 15:10; Luke 18:20 and Mark 10:19. Just because the Sabbath of the Lord was not mentioned does not mean that He came to abolish it. One reason He did so many signs during the Sabbath was to show men HOW to keep it. The two commandments that Jesus seemed to add are a summary of the first 4 and the last six commandments of His Father. Matthew 22:40 says, On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. So do not throw the baby out with the bathwater!
It has the plan of salvation in it! We are justified when we accept His sacrifice in place of our death (He died for us the second death so that we will never have to face it; He died on the cross in place of us). The spotless lambs represent His pure and holy life. Their death represents the fact that an alternate, of pure character, must die in our place. That was Jesus. No more sacrifices have to be made because Jesus, the ultimate Lamb, died for us. So when we accept His sacrifice, we are justified.
This hymn (Cover With His Life) greatly influenced me years ago. I have never completely forgotten its message, although I do not sing it very often. The refrain partly goes, Cover with His life, whiter than snow; fullness of His life then shall I know. I especially like the 4th verse: Reconciled by His death for my sin, justified by His life pure and clean, sanctified by obeying His word, glorified when returneth my Lord.
Have you noticed that there is a lot more occultic activity going on now-a-days? Spritual warfare is everywhere anymore. We must stay close to Jesus, and not let evil enfluencers around us persuade us to go in their direction. We must keep our eyes focused on Christ our Savior, because the devil will never stop his efforts until he has us in his grasp. Look upon Jesus, sinless is He; Father, impute His life unto me. My life of scarlet, my sin and woe, cover with His life, whiter than snow.

It is nice to see so many people showing interest in memorizing the word of God! I think everyone is definitely feeling the weight of the times we are living in. Storing scriptures in our memories will help us know how to cope with the changes coming into our world. Hold on, because the troubles that are near are going to make our way to maneuver through all the evil confusion really rough. Jesus is the ONLY way, the Truth, and the life.
I began reviewing one of my favorite passages this morning: Psalm 118:1-7 says, O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: because His mercy endureth for ever. I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
GC4 66:1 says, In their fidelity to His law, God's servants should be as firm as the unchanging hills.
GC2 45:1, a quote from the SOP says, If unity could be secured only by the compromise of truth and righteousness, then let there be difference, and even war. This is true, because we would never be safe in surrendering our values to worldly ideas and propaganda. And there is a lot of that swirling around us nowadays.
A word search of the term unbelievers stirred up some interesting thoughts. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 1 Corinthians 14:23 says, If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues [real languages], and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? Luke 12:46 says, The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
It does not matter what we think. What matters is what God thinks. And everyone is born with the freedom of conscience. You can decide for or against having a relationship with Jesus. That is where we Christians can become involved. We can pray for you. Do you want prayer, Frenchmen? 😲🙏

I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
1 Corinthians 2:14 says, But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Angel, does posting hard verses cause you to consider whether your ways are in opposition to the word of God? These words should help us to know how dire the temptations of Satan (our enemies and foes) are to our relationship with Jesus.

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. Today, I have been reviewing one of my favorite passages, Ecclesiastes 3. Those verses are so pertinent to the day and time we are living in. I hope you will be blessed in your reviewing today as much as I have been blessed this morning.
This is my final conclusion regarding individuals who continue to come on this group to blame and argue: 1 Peter 3:16 - Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 2 Timothy 3:5 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
I did a short study of the word EVILDOERS, and here are some thoughts to ponder: Psalm 37:1 - Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Psalm 119:115 - Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God. Isaiah 1:4 - Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
Romans 12:17-21 - Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
I realize that we are right at the time of the end, but we are to occupy until such a time as we cannot. We are never to sit back on our lees and expect favor to come to us while we do nothing to help ourselves. We are told in 1 Peter 5:8 to "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." Keep looking up; for our redemption draweth nigh.
Hi everyone. Hope you are having a good week! Mine is especially busy since I am starting to develop my YouTube channel into a business. I knew I could do this years ago, but had not focussed on trying to monetize it. It is possible but takes some effort. Now that things are getting tighter for us because of our sinking economy, it just makes sense to look for other income streams than the meager ones that we have. Are you having to tighten your belts too?

Amazing Facts made this video about 20 years ago! It is amazing how much of what Pr Doug spoke about in the video is covered accurately of things that are happening in this day and time.
Marvelous promises to us if we are faithful! Psalm 91:14-16 - Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

I was listening to a nice scripture songs CD I got at a mini-campmeeting that I went to recently in Hayden Lake, Idaho. The theme is about the Sabbath. They are pretty songs sung by several well-known singers in the SDA church, such as Wintley Phipps, Jennifer LaMountain, Steve Darmody, Charles Haugabrooks and Christian Berdahl. Having a good morning reviewing pertinent verses. James 1:2-4 says, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
We must remember these verses when we are tempted to whine and pine about our troubles, and say woe is me. God is shaping and molding us into people who will be able to live forever in His presence. Be patient and endure because the Second Coming of Jesus is very near, even at the door.
