Glad to see you back, Lyndi. I have all my verses set up on a two month review cycle, and have been pretty faithful to work on a few verses every day for the last few months. sometimes when I come back to them, I wonder if I ever actually memorized them, but the more I review, the more it sticks with me. (5/27/24)
Greetings all! Today is May 19, 2024 and I am back. I decided to jump into an immediate review and I'm a little bit rusty. But I remembered it better than I thought. I'm almost done with this chapter. I hope to have it completed by the end of 2024 and then I will come back and review so that I remember it.
Glad to see you’re back at it, Lyndi! I’ve been working at it more faithfully again the past month or two. (1/4/24)
Oh my Tbar!
I'm back! I was gone for a while, but I'm going to get into my memory passages again.
I’m here, Lyndi. It’s August 13,2022, and I’ve been faithfully using the app since I last posted about 6 months ago. I just don’t think to check here for messages. I have this passage set for review every 2 months, but have a number of other verses I’m working on as well. How are you doing at completing this chapter by now?
it's April 21, 2022 and I'm reviewing and working on finishing this chapter.
Is anyone else still around?
I'm back. I need to accomplish this goal. I'm encouraged that I have remembered the verses that I have done previously as well as I have.
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) [Herald of Light activity from The Bible Brigade]
Hi Twyla! I'm so glad to hear from you! Yes! visiting with my eldest son is always a delight!
By the way, about a week ago while getting tested, I had the pleasure of a brief visit with your eldest son. That was fun!
Hey, Lyndi! I’ve done very little scripture memory this past year, but have recently gotten back to reviewing my verses. I’m not doing much memorizing at this point. Mostly just trying to catch up on my reviewing of the verses I’ve memorized over about the past 7 years. glad to hear you’re still working at Psalm 34.
One week later. I'm back at this and am mastering verse 20.
Oh my goodness!! It is January 10th, 2021. I'm back at it again. I'm on verse 20. I'm SO excited to see the newcomers! Please let me know when you joined and what verse you are on.
Hello, Allie! Are you joining us in memorizing Psalm 34?
I have added more verses so that has slowed me down some. But I like this website. I didn't think I'd ever be able to memorize anything again!
Oh my goodness, Twyla! Yes. I'm still using it. The app on my phone is a little limiting but I"m plugging away. I have the last three verses and then I have it all memorized!
Lyndi -- have you completed the chapter? We've not touched base for a long time! Are you continuing on with using the app for other memorization? I'm still trying to use it daily, and I occasionally add a new verse or passage to my verses to review.
Good to know.. Thanks, Lyndi.
Oops! I missed your message Twyla. I'm still plugging away. I'm mastering verse 19, while trying to hang onto the first 18. I'll get there.
So...How's it going by now, Lyndi? It has been a couple of months since we touched base... I have my review set for every 2 months, but I'm thinking that I might change that, since I tend to need a review very frequently so that I retain my memorization.
Okay.....I'm on 18 now.....
That's okay, Lyndi. Slow and steady... 😊
I'm on 17. I got a bit slow. I guess my brain needed a bit of time to catch up.
Hang in there, Lyndi! you're heading on the home stretch. I suspect you're probably past 3/4 of the way through memorizing the chapter by now, since it was already several weeks ago that you posted you were done with verse 16. You're going to do this thing! 😊
I've just mastered verse 16. My brain is a bit tired. I'll dive into 17 next week when I know that I won't forget the first 16.
It's great to hear you're coming along so well on your memorizing, Lyndi!
Lyndi, I guess I should've called it a "support" button. On my phone it looks like a nautical lifesaver down on the lower right of the main screen.
Good eye, Lyndi! I hadn't noticed our new member yet. Yes, welcome TJ (whoever you are! 😊)!!
Yeah! Another member! Welcome TJ!
I can't find the *help* button on here anywhere.
I had reorganized the verses. I have grouped verses 1-8 together and 9-12 together, so that could be my *2 verses current*?
But I have also mastered 13 and 14.....
Oh well....
Okay. I'll try the "help". I suppose it doesn't matter as long as I am getting the passage memorized. I didn't want the others to wonder if I dropped out and feel kind of bummed. This is sort of a group activity By The way, I've mastered the first 8 verses, 9-12 are coming along, 13 & 14 are getting daily reviews and I've started typing 15 this afternoon. Thanks for letting me know about this program. I really like it.
Lyndi -- have you tried posing your questions to "Help". i'm afraid I really have no answers for you.
Did I reset my stats when I regrouped my verses? I review verses 1-8 as a set and 9-12 as a set.
Now what happened? I have *0 group verses current* even though I am current. I don't understand how this part of the website works...
I've been very diligent to review daily and keep my verses current. Now, I'm up to *2 group verses current*. I wish I knew what this meant. I'm going to look around on here and see if I can figure this out.
okay. I'll try that. I've mastered the first ten verses and I've started verse 11 yesterday. Boy, do I need those reviews!
I've also added Psalm 19 and Ephesians 1. I've finished Psalm 19,and I'm reviewing it every 3 days. I've mastered Eph 1:1-2,and now I'm starting verses 3-6. whew! I really, really like this program.
I just had a thought: the number of group versus current would show less than what you've been working on if you have any of those verses in red, in other words, if you are overdue to review them. Try making sure that you're up to date on all of your reviews, and see if that changes your "current" number.
Lyndi, I'm sorry. I really don't have any idea. I've noticed that Jan and Vonnie's stats are not changing, either. they do have a "Help" button down at the bottom of the home screen, (at least that's where it is on my app) so you might try using that feature. I have seen it update on you previously, so I don't know why it wouldn't be doing so now.. I hope you're able to figure it out... so… How many verses have you memorized?
Twyla, why does my *card* along the left-hand side of this page say that I have "1 Group Verses Current"?
It doesn't look like my stats are updating. Hm...
it's not a perfect app, but we're not in heaven yet, either! ;-). I had always assumed that I couldn't memorize as an adult, but I'm so glad that this app has helped prove that theory wrong! I'm definitely finding it to be a great tool.
Thanks for your answer. I'm beginning to figure out how to use this site. I'm really beginning to like this!
The first three verses are grouped together because that's the way I originally memorized them long ago, before deciding to memorize the entire chapter. For review purposes, if you go to your "Verses" listing, rather than to the review listings, it will allow you to review the passage all in one grouping. if you fail on a particular verse just swipe sideways and that review verse will go away and you can redo it. Unfortunately, because I grouped verses 1 to 3 together originally, they cannot be separated, unless you want to delete them and re-enter them as separate items, thus losing any points associated with having worked on them. I think some others in our group have actually loaded up the passage in different versions than the ESV that I chose, so they may have been able to separate their verses out. Does any of that help you?
Twyla. Why are the first 3 verses of this psalm lumped together as one piece?
Is there a way that I can combine other verses together as I review them so that I can begin to review them as a big continuous thought?
Hi Deuza! You don't know you yet, but I'm happy to *see* you here. and you are already ahead of me. I need to keep working!
I see we have a new member! Welcome Deuza! I don't know you, but I'm glad you have a desire to memorize Psalm 34 also. Just today I had reason to share verse 18 with my dear friend at her husband's funeral.
I think so. This works differently on my phone, so I think I confused myself. (Not hard to do....)
This site does let me practice more than it recommends so that is very helpful.
Thanks. I'll try your suggestions.
Lyndi--i'm sorry I only saw your question now. It did not give me any indication that there was a message waiting for me.
Lyndi-- try settings/Prefences/Max Review time (set that to daily), so that it won't move your review reminders back. As far as resetting and losing the verses, I don't know how that can be fixed other than to reenter them as you entered them the first time.
Don't get too excited, Twyla!! I can remember things over the course of a few hours.
I have a new problem. I hope you can help me. Since I've *mastered* verses 1-3 twice, the system changed my reviews to every 2 days. This is not frequent enough so I tried to reset those verses to a daily review. Nothing happened. So I clicked the "reset" button and they are no longer on my review list at all! Rats! This isn't fitting my plan.
So, do you know how I can get those verses back in my review list?
Way to go, Lyndi! As you know, the important thing is that you're immersing yourself in the Word. Way to start out with a bang! 3 verses memorized already?! Woohoo!!
I"m a bit late, but I want to give this a try.
so...today would be a great day to get stared on memorizing... :-) -- don't you think?!
same here! and welcome to you, too, Jan.
looking forward to memorizing with you!
