A memory verse this afternoon that I have considered very personal for a number of years. Ezekiel 3:17 KJV - "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me."
Hebrews 4:4-5, 7-10 KJV - "For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all His works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Again, He limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts. For IF JESUS HAD GIVEN THEM REST, THEN WOULD HE NOT AFTERWARD HAVE SPOKEN OF ANOTHER DAY. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His."
Below is one of the 10 Commandments that was written on the stone tablet by God's own finger. This law was placed in the Ark of the Covenant as a memorial of God's permanent covenant. Man has attempted to change this law (as is explained in the Bible). It remains one of the original 10. Exodus 20:8-11 KJV - "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."
Sunday is not the Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week. Sabbath means 7th. The seventh day is the true Sabbath of the Lord. See Genesis 2:2-3. Saturday comes after the Sabbath concludes. The Sabbath runs from Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown. Saturday begins at sundown. See Genesis 1. The evening comes before the morning. 🙂
