Select Verse Collections to memorize with this Group.
Hello Steve, do you have New Testament verse in this collection or we have to figure it out? can I suggest you adding the NT verse next to OT and manually sorting it out so that both show up together. this is a great concept. Thanks and God bless your good work
Hey Steve. This is Holly. Just joined the group because I think this is an awesome concept. I had a thought that maybe you can add a tag to each verse or verse that you included and name the tag the ref verse or verse set. I don't know if this will work when we import the verses though. If you try it with one set I could test it for you.
here are the references for Daniel: Rev 9:20 Mat 24:30 Mat 26:64 Mark 13:26 Mark 14:62 Luke 21:27 Rev 1:7 Rev 13:7 Mat 24:15 Mark 13:14 Mat 24:15 Mark 13:14
Totally agree! Thanks for all you're doing currently! I'm gradually incorporating the Daniel group into my other memory focus. Blessings...
I’m most of the way through resorting in chapters. harder than I thought it would be. Thanks for the recommendation, but I don’t think that would be an efficient use of time.
Hi, again &Steve Evans -- this might not be the most efficient method to cross ref, because it's initially asking the system to do something it wasn't programmed to do (and you may have tried this), BUT the verse importer seems to permit you to type additional text in addition to the actual verse. If the cross reference(address only) were added sort of as a footnote, then the student (us) would be required to memorize the additional references as part of the primary OT verse. It would look something like {primary verse} {primary reference address} {cross reference address}. To avoid requiring every student to memorize the cross reference addresses, an additional sub-group could be created such as "Genesis with NT Cross-Refs". A lot of work. Not sure how it would work...generally the more complicated something gets the less practical it is. Sigh...all I can come up with at the moment. Blessings...
Thanks for your responsiveness! Glad the suggestion seems useful. I'll mull over the need for a cross-reference system. I'm relatively new to ST, so don't know if there's an effective way to do that or not. Will let you know if anything comes to mind. Blessings...
&Lisa K. so glad to hear this is a benefit to you. I will make the adjustment on the grouping of the texts. Good recommendation. I’d love to find a way to indicate some of the NT references to these verses, but have been unable to devise a good system. if you have ideas, let me know.
@Steve Evans -- would it be possible to divide the verses into groupings by OT book in lieu of (or in addition to) your master list? That might make it easier for us to focus our studies. Thanks for considering this. Blessings...
Thanks @Steve Evans for this new group...I saw your note in Psalms group. In our home Bible studies we have begun studying the scriptures from a Hebraic heritage perspective and it is caus
ing the word to take on a richness I had previously only dreamed about! This group will be a very helpful enrichment tool!
I appreciate the invitation. I did check out the group and it seems to be very active. May you be greatly blessed as you learn God’s Word.
by the way Evans, could you join group dogs for Jesus, I asked for ratings from the group members, and I have 8 ratings so far, they are all 5 stars except for 1 4.5 star rating, in it , is ill add any verses you ask me to and join any groups you ask me to
uh... they are just random verses, you don't have to add them
Allusions include paraphrases, partial quotes, or indirect references to events or circumstances. so not a direct quotes but something that is intended to call to mind those verses.
what verses in psalm 119 are quoted or alluded to in Luke 5?
could you add psalms 119 and Luke 5
It’s all one book! I hope you find it helpful. if you trace down the NT verses that quote or allude to these verses and memorize them, it is sort of doing double work! let me know if there are better ways to organize.
Hi, Steve! This is a unique group! Thank you for adding it.
Greetings new members! let me know if you’d like something added.
