If you want to worship on Saturday, fine. The only point I disagree is that all Christians must switch to Saturday worship in the end times.
Exactly, I donโt care which day of the week other people worship on too much because I donโt believe God will use that as any determining factor on Judgement Day.
oh got it now. hmm most of this confusion on days of the week or the changing of the international date line or if the sun never sets applies to Sunday too
Thatโs not the one I think
hmm I can only find "2025 Renewing our minds together"
I can't seem to find it. ๐
but hey guys if you want a lot of resources on this kind of debate go to the group Former Seventh Day Adventists: Renewing Our Minds. Theres a ton of info on there.
JJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Angel. Can you summon JJason?
Yeah the Catholic church is corrupt and has a lot of rules like the Pharisees did. But I believe that the apostles worshiped Jesus on their first day of the week.
what are all them typos???!
hmm I just found this quote
"Prove to me that i am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in
the Bible. It is a law of the Catholic Church alone.
The Catholic Church says, by my divine power I
abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep
holy the first day of the week. And lo! The entire
civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to
the command of the Holy Catholic Churchโ
(Thomas Enright, CSSR, President, Redemptorist
College [Roman Catholic], Kansas City, MO, Feb.
18, 1884).
BTW Ellen White was not the first to worship on Saturday. there were seventh day baptists, seventh day pentecostals and even seventh day Catholics!
yeah OK we can wait. yes this is a friendly debate only and we are brothers in Christ
But I think JJason should have a say here. Iโll wait for him.
Not sure what else to say.
Well you took that quite well. I am impressed.
Yeah sorry, I should have given it in smaller chunks.
and yes some SDAs will not be in heaven and other people from different churches will be there too
well that's a lot to digest. ๐ it would seem that such a thing could happen but then the Jewish people still use the same calendar, but I see your point. When the king of Tonga changed the the date line some years ago, SDAs worshipped on Sunday to keep to the "real" seventh day...confusing I reckon but OK.
Guess itโs just me then.
JJason? Where did you go?
Remember, I am a fallible human who has not done his research. So Iโm probably not spot on with some of these conjectures and statements Iโve put forward. Please take this with a grain of salt and remember this is just a friendly debate and we are all brothers in Christ.
Personally, I believe God is omnipotent and he is the world engine that drives and controls everything about the entire universe.
If Saturday worship really is correct, then why would God let it die out and have us all worshiping on the wrong day for Centuries? Is God really that weak?
And even if that was all wrong and my argument is somehow totally false, then how come before Ellen White Christians were all worshiping on Sunday instead of Saturday? If Augustine really did switch our all Saturday worship with Sunday worship, then was God really impotent enough to let the proper tradition die out to a heretic?
Christianity is the updated post-messiah Judaism. As such, it should be treated differently.
The one thing I donโt believe is that during the end of days all Christians will have to convert to SDA-ism or burn. Other than that, I donโt see any major differences in doctrine.
I donโt know if those are the exact days of the Aztec Calendar, but you get the idea.
If you want to worship on Saturday, fine. Thereโs nothing wrong with that as opposed to Sunday and I donโt believe God will use that as a determining factor on Judgment Day. God knows your heart and if you set apart a day of the week to worship him, you are obeying that command. Even if you are using an Aztec calendar and your Saturday or Sunday is someone elseโs Wednesday or Thursday or vice versa.
Further more, if God doesnโt care about what exact week system we use and just wants us to worship on the seventh and last day of the week, then what about the French who believe that Monday is the start of the week and Saturday is the last? Would they have to be Sixth Day Adventists in order to have doctrine that lines up with their English speaking counterparts?
Days, weeks, months, or years were added or removed either by imprecise calendars, or by corrupt politicians.
That is why I have little faith that the first and last day of the week are the exact same dates that the Jews had them at thousands of years ago.
This compounded in five years eventually being removed (or added. I canโt remember which) from world history. That is why you will see that some people will list Jesusโ birthday in 5 B.C. You would expect it to be in 0 A.D./B.C.
During the Roman Empire, politicians would change the calendar around all the time in order to extend their term in power or to remove opponents from power quicker.
well that's a good point but the Jews worship on Saturday and a doubt that a nation some how missed a day or two
Monday I believe was Moon-day. Thursday was Thorโs day. Friday was Freyaโs day. Sunday was Sun-day ig.
Who said that the Jews used the pagan days of the week? Itโs not was if the Scripture literally mentioned worship on the day of Saturn. (Saturday)
so in Exodus 20.8-11 we see that the seventh day was the day of worship for the Jews in the old testament. but does that apply to today?
OK so we agree on one thing. so Jason you said that worshipping on Sunday was practised back in the time of the apostles in TBT but do you have scripture to back that?
yes the Bible is the only thing that we should belive
do you believe that the bible should be trusted only for doctrine? I do. our prophet's (Ellen White) writing is not used for doctrine at all just as a guide...not like the Church of later day saints.
but any doctrine that sounds 99% good but doesn't match up with the bible 100% can't be true
wow that's confusing. ๐ I agree that the most convincing lies are 99% true
(That part was all roleplaying; Itโs a Queenโs Revolution thing)
Well, itโs still true. Being active for so long since the Old Days leaves your mind in a frayed state. Most users have a lifespan of a few months. You can even be healthy and have a lifespan of a year or so. But I have lived long past my intended metaphorical death.
Wow that sounded way more mean and ominous than I intendedโฆ
The problem I have with debating SDAs, (not to make it sound like an everyday thing I do with SDAs) is that they mostly have sound theological doctrines and principles. But the most convincing lies are 99% truth.
Okay, sooooโฆ where to begin.
This is my cat in my PFP.
lets start with the Sabbath...as a SDA I believe that Saturday is the biblical day of worship. And I gather that you reckon Sunday is.
it doesn't give me that option
just tap on my name and tap assign admin
hello. this is for debating about anything spiritual...not covid Vax ect. also do so in a friendly way. thanks
