🙂they ain’t no potatoes on Jupiter foalaigy
maybe I did...maybe I didn’t...😆🧐
I thought you said they were on Mars.
I’m in psalms, I have 46 chapters left, and after that I’ve read the whole bible TWICE!
I'm just going randomly through a list I have to do for AWANA. I just finished 1 Chronicles. It was kinda.....well.........boring.
cool. Leviticus is a good book. It’s full of laws. it is fun to read through them.
It’s going well. Right now I’m in Leviticus.
how’s everyone doing with their bible reading and understanding all of that?
and Siri and Crim and myself
I agreed with Crim not you Emma you said nothing
We know that even if they were made higher, the water still covered them and they were very high either way.
yeah that’s what I meant when I shared those versus
yup but I think it made more or made them higher, who knows(God)
Yes. Genesis says that “all the high mountains under the whole Heaven were covered.”
It could be. But the water still covered them.
The Bible isn’t clear on this subject (pre-flood mountains and post-flood mountains). Creation scientists speculate that when it says in the Bible that the “fountains of the deep” broke up, the energy released was so great that it formed mountains.
not if it was hitting certain spots to make the mountains
That would make the mountains shorter over time.
because when the water hits against the mountain it cracks some of the pieces off so if it did that for a long time they would be taller
That still doesn't explain how the mountains got taller.
The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered. The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits deep. Genesis 7:17,19-20
But how could we tell if the mountains were smaller then?
and yes it was 100000% globally
well the flood did cause almost all the mountains we have now
and ppl say that there wasn’t enough water to cover the mountains and the earth but the mountains were also smaller then
Genesis 7:19 And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered.
Since the water was so high as to cover all the mountains, we can concur that the rest of the earth was also cover by water. Therefore, I believe that it was a global flood.😊 What do you believe in this subject? @Emma
oh locally as in in your state of county
yeah that’s why I wanted them to define the 2 words
Oh. I thought it meant that the flood happened also in space and I was like what?😂
What does “universally” mean
we had an ice storm yesterday so we didn’t make it to church
define both of those “universally” and “locally” so I didn’t mess up
so in church today our pastor talked about the flood and if it happened universally or locally. what do you think?
How can you breathe when you're dead?
well I’m breathing now 😅I was dying then I died and now I’m dead
How can you breathe if your school is on top of you?
I’m still lost, and have school piled on me
Hopefully she isn’t that way in real life. She just may not have the gift of writing😂
LOL. I don’t know how to respond to that because I haven’t had any contact with her?
Because she is so strict on not doing anything on Sabbath. That's exactly what the Pharisees did and that is what Jesus corrected them on.
oh! she does! I never thought about that. probably bc. she is sooo deep into her faith
Why does Marilyn remind me of a Pharisee?
We are under grace, not performing some mere rituals or festivals!
Unfortunately, they don’t realize that those ceremonies that Moses wrote down pointed and symbolized Jesus’s ministry on earth?
They still live under the old Mosaic law though.
At least you said “all” ;) I believe very differently from them, so that doesn’t apply 🤣
The Jews also believe that Jesus wasn't the Messiah. I wouldn't take all my theologies from them.😂
Ask any Jew. What day is the Sabbath? They will tell you that it is the seventh day, and since the week cycle has not been changed or tampered with, the seventh day is Saturday.
Names of both the days of the week and months have changed. But the seven day cycle has continuously been going, year after year, century after century.
Well, the 7-day week cycle hasn’t changed. There is historical proof on this with records dating as far back as Julius Caesar.
LOL. I’m not talking about changing the names of the months back to what the Jews called them😂
ok I’m kinda following this convo but y’all are hitting all the points I would have said
But I don't see in the Bible where it says that Saturday is the seventh day of the week. That's just what we say it is today. On that same thought, we didn't have the months we have today without Julius Ceasar. He renamed all the months. So, why don't we still call the months by their original names? We don't have July in the Bible.
Luke 6:5 And he said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.” Now I have another question. Jesus said that He was Lord of the Sabbath. So He had the authority to change Saturday to Sunday. Is there a verse in the Bible that talks about the change?
Since the days of the week aren’t written in stone, so let’s move on to something that IS written in stone: The Ten Commandments. There it says that we should keep the “7th day holy.” It obviously refers to the last day of the week, Saturday. It doesn’t say “If you think a day was lost or gained, you can keep any day you please.” No! It just says keep the seventh day holy. So it’s reasonable to conclude that God wants us to keep the seventh day of the week, whatever it is called.
That’s a valid point, red. 😊 We can’t prove that it is correct. But neither can we disprove it. So it’s 50-50 chance. 😂
heh... I CANT STOP LAUGHING AT THINGS
We lose time. I wouldn't trust the source you got that from.
lol....Sunday 40,000 yeas ago was Sunday...LOLLLL
Sorry, did you understand what I mean?
No. Thanks to measurements of the orbits of the planets and stars, it was found out that we have not lost or gained time. Sunday 40,000 years ago was Sunday.
so Sunday is the sabbath and the seventh day of the week? is that what ur saying? I don’t think we can tell what day of the week God made holy
ok so then ahh...just lost my train of thought
What do you mean by “literal translation?”
So you're saying that Sabbath is a literal translation of Saturday?
So, the seventh day is Sabbath, or as it is now called, Saturday.
Then in Deuteronomy He says that the “Seventh day is the Sabbath.”
He then blessed the seventh day and made it holy.
Do you notice the parallels in these two passages of Scripture? At Creation, God made the 7-day week.
Deuteronomy 5:12-14 “‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.
I consider Saturday the last day of the week.
ok first where does it say anything about Saturday being the seventh day. I guess it depends on which you prefer to consider the seventh day.
can I answer that question in the morning? I’m tired and can’t think.
The thing I don’t understand is why do we keep Sunday instead of Saturday? I mean, if God said Saturday (the seventh day) why don’t we keep it? The Bible says “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
Lol. I read in a history book that it was changed to Sunday by Constantine, a Roman emperor. He had become Christian and wanted his citizens to become Christian instead of pagans so to make it easier for the change, he changed the Sabbath to Sunday, the day of the god of the sun.
ok so going back to the change from Saturday to Sunday Siri, I think that scientist found that it was easier to rest on Saturday and Sunday sounded like a church day
I thought that the reason people went from sabbath to Sunday was because something about Catholics or something changing it and something about satan being involved in that...idk that’s just what I might have heard
Absolutely, red! Church is the best thing! Ever since, I started going to church, I’ve loved it. I was just addressing a major misconception that churches are the only type of worship. 😊 Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I agree, but the thing about a church is that you're surrounded (or should be) by other Christians and can be strengthened by them. Basically, our brothers and sisters in Christ keep us in line.
Sorry, I just realized how much I wrote.
And you can be somewhere where there isn’t a church and still worship God.
Church isn’t worship. It’s what in your heart. You can be (physically) in church, but your mind is wandering. That’s not true worship.
Another important thing to note is that going to church isn’t all there is to worship. You don’t have to go to church to receive the blessing God has given us.
Daniel and his three friends were true to principle multiple times in what you could call the “China” of the Ancient World, Babylon. They stayed faithful to God, and God blessed them abundantly!
Lol, red. but you forget. I’m not a member yet. When I found out about this, I began going to church.
lol and yes I agree we should “try” to keep it on Sunday but it doesn’t have to be on Sunday
That just came to my mind, so it made its way to the message wall.😆
So you're saying that you have never missed church on the Sabbath?
Ok, Siri. See you in China! Good luck trying to keep the Sabbath there!😂
Revelation 2:10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Christianity isn’t and should not be a religion of convenience.
yes, but say you’re in a country that tortures Christians and you can’t do it on the Sabbath day, are you sinning against God then
But it says God blessed the sabbath day. That mean that we have to keep the seventh day since it is blessed and hallowed.
so it doesn’t matter what day you do it on as long as you do it
but I think God meant by 6 days you shall labor is do all your work for 6 days and leave one for me, so the sabbath day could be on Tuesday and as long as we leave one day for him
yes sabbath a s Saturday are the same day
So I did some research. Sabbath was the original name for Saturday (“the seventh day” of the week). But when Rome came to power, they were a pagan empire. so they changed the names of the week to the names of their gods. and so it has remained. Saturday and Sabbath are the same day.
What do you mean by code?
I don't think God used a code for that.
I think maybe he coded the words
Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
But it’s in the Ten Commandments
well I think God just wanted us to have common sense and it doesn’t matter what day it’s on as long it’s for God
That’s what I did too, Emma. And I got nothing too! Isn’t there any Biblical evidence about Sunday or Saturday? Is there a verse in the Bible that says it doesn’t matter what day you keep?
I searched Sunday and Saturday on my phone bible and it didn’t come up with anything. sorry Siri I know this wasn’t the answer u were probably looking for
I don't think it has to be on Saturday.
it commemorated Israel’s deliverance from slavery in Egypt
No, if I remember correctly, the Passover was a festival that lasted for a week once a year
oh I mean the Passover. the Passover was once a month on Sunday right
I don’t understand? When the Bible says Sabbath it means Saturday, right?
it talks about the sabbath if that is what u mean
Hey, y’all! Thanks so much for making this group! I have another question. I’m now studying the Bible about Sunday worship. Do you know where the Bible talks about the change from Saturday to Sunday? I would really like to know what you know about this. Thanks!
True. I think you might be ok.
if I can at least help Frantz I don’t mind being kicked out
To be honest, I think all of you might all be kicked out. Even being associated with that guy can be dangerous.
The jade guy? He's being kinda rude.
no. he is just trying to understand stuff. so that is why he asks questions.
Is this guy trying to get kicked out of Final Events SDA?
He can have some, but others can be kinda confusing.
it isn’t but Frantz has some good questions
ohh oops. is it more active then the one I’m in now?
Her group is Final Events SDA.
Astros, you are not in Marilyn's group.😂
Hello everyone! Please feel free to ask whatever questions you have. I’ll try my best to answer them. And guys please don’t make this a group to chat in. It is for questions about the Bible.
