I don't think we were either?
I wasn't talking about the end of his life. I think when you commit suicide it isn't a good sign, if you know what I mean.
We need to be careful and God to help us not fall into the traps Judas fell into. (the love of money)
Unfortunately, we don’t know whether Judas was converted or not. All we know is that he made some really sad choices.
right. but the Bible doesn't mention anything along the line of Christian either.
Correct. The Bible doesn’t say Judas was a Christian. (The term “Christian” came after Jesus’ death at Antioch)
the Bible never says anything about judas being a Christian so we are all just making assumptions here.
Great! I always want to learn something new and different
Burger, to be honest I’ve never really thought about this subject in depth. I would appreciate it if you could show me where you base it from the Bible. 😊
yeah but by the way he acted
I wasn't there, so I don't know.
I don’t think he knew the other disciples as well so most likely not
It's possible, but not probable.
he also could have followed Jesus because his friends were doing it. so he never fully put his faith in Jesus
He was. I would think that he was saved at one point though, or he never would have followed Jesus.
I feel about Judas that he was on the fence a lot.
Judas I’m not so sure of...
I think Solomon was saved he just was influenced by his wives and didn’t care about God anymore
I don't believe that either of those people were ever truly saved in the first place.
I agree. I think Judas was saved at first as well, but when you betray Jesus and hang yourself, it would appear that he turned away from God, don't you think?
I want to hear y’alls take on this matter 😊
So I think that he was initially converted but over time, his fear of God dwindled.
He also began worshipping other gods along with his pagan wives.
Look at Solomon. I think he must have been converted/saved when God asked him in a dream what Solomon wants. But unfortunately, Solomon, little by little went down the wrong path— love of women (700 wives and 300 concubines😳)
I think that if you part ways with god later in life, you were never fully saved in the first place.
it was really disappointing the way she talked to me but I guess I will live.
I think it is possible to have true repentance/conversion and still later part ways with God. We can lose “our first love,” unfortunately.
On the TULIP question, I (and other SDAs) believe in all but the last 2 points (the same ones as Red) 😊
You were in contact with a rather unfortunate specimen of an Adventist...
As you know, I’m not Reformed Baptist or Baptist at all😉 I went and read what Marilyn wrote and did, sad to say, but that is not Christlike nor what SDAs truly are. We parter a lot with other denominations. I’m truly sorry with what happened. No one should be so closed as to not allow others to freely express what they believe.
so for example, Izzy's dad. right now he is not a Christian. before he was a Christian. I believe that that before was never a true repentance. maybe sometime in the future he will have a true repentance.
does that make sense? I feel like I didn't explain it very well.
so you believe that if you are saved, you could turn from him and not be saved. I believe that if you do that, you were never saved in the first place. then eventually you would get back on the right track and then saved and always saved.
ok so the points are 1. total depravity 2. unconditional election 3. limited atonement 4. irresistible grace and 5. perseverance of the saints.
😂I don't remember them all. I agree with total depravity. I don't agree with the once saved always saved. I believe you can be saved, turn away, then rededicate your life, but just because you were saved once doesn't mean that you cannot turn away from God.
I'm not Reformed Baptist, but I am Free Will Baptist. The only difference is that I only agree with about half of the five points of Calvinism.
also if anyone wants to memorize verses, please let me know!!!
no on will be judged here (unlike that group... just kidding lol)
hey guys! please post any questions or comments you might have.
